Everton fans' chants at Gerrard

I saw fat Rafa moaning about the unpleasant chants directed by the Everton fans towards Stevie me during Sunday's game, but can't find out what these chants were. Anybody know? (not that I would condone such behaviour, obviously icon_wink.gif )

"The baby's not yours, the baby's not your's, Steven Gerrard, The baby's not yours." Is what I believe they were chanting.

Tbh, players get abuse from opposing fans all the time, but as soon as its Gerrard its a big deal.

o yea! i heard a chant. I think it went "steven gerrard, steven gerrard , we've seen it all!" then the commentators said "i wonder what the everton fans would do if they bumbed into steven Gerrard and what the liverpool fans would do to phil neville."

i heard that too. they seem to have this opinion that gerrard is some kind of superman. im sure a lot of everton fans would love to bump into him. its embarassing how far up his arse they are.

so in addition to being a passer par excellence, in posession of the greatest engine football has ever seen, and being the heart and sould of the greatest and most passionate football club in the world, we are now supposed to believe he is an enforcer and a man to be feared?

Please. One thing, one thing he ain't is a hard man. I would happily, happily tell him he's a c*nt to his face, and I am about 2 foot high. ChElSea2.gif

This WINDS ME UP.

Ickle Stevie Me gets it so its an issue, what about Fat Frank getting it week in week out, Premiership or Country. Bunch of twats.

Don't know if it's been posted, but that scumbag Patrick Collins from the Mail actually referred to Lamps as Fat Frank in his column last week. No point complaining though, as the Mail censor any hostile replies.

and it continues. were now seeing just how nasty and spitefull the scousers are. not the down to earth, all friends together comedians they try to convince us they are. both clubs are having a go at each other after sunday. apparently lescott took a load of stick and neville was spat at and punched in the back at a throw in too. gotta love that scouse sense of humour.....

Abusing players is part of the game I'm afraid, sometimes there's banter sometimes it's spiteful.

Gallas was slaughtered at the bridge recently, so was Cole by the visitors, it's part of the game.

As soon as police investigations get envolved for things being sungs at matches, then the game will only become more sterile and the 'great atmosphere here at Anfield' will only be diluted to the home fans singing YNWA - what a load of old bollocks.

It happens up and down the country every week, because something touched a nerve with Gerrard there's no need to get the police envolved.

Remember the abuse Beckham and his Mrs used to receive, never once did he go to the police - so perhaps she did take it up the a*se. icon_wink.gif

Agreed!

I was talking about the singing questioning the parenthood of his child.

If he doesn't like it he should tell his old woman to stop opening her leg's for anyone willing to sling a bit of colombian marching pounder up her scouse nostril's!

or stay home on European night's! - That's when they all go round Stevie's house after robbing one of the other players.

agreed too!!

take away the banter between fans and the atmosphere would be non-existent. some songs are over the line but that particular one is no worse than the stick lamps gets. but i cant remember the press picking up on that too much.

What winds me up is how, yet again, the TV commentators talked about the uniqueness of the Merseyside derby and managed to zoom in on a couple of fans one wearing a Liverscum shirt and the other an Everton shirt as evidence of this uniqueness. No mention was made of any unpleasant chanting. That's why I was so amused to read about it, because had Rafa not raised it as an issue at his press conference, it would probably have passed without mention by the media.
