Do we all believe Ronaldinho is going to City?

I myself find this hard to believe. I actually think we have a very good chance of signing him, partly because I reckon the two likeliest bets for our new boss are Scolari and Rijkaard, and both of them have worked extensively with Ronaldinho; not to mention Roman wants him and the pretty style he would bring to Chelsea.

It's all a bit of a mess at the moment, but that is what I make of it.

The longer we wait, the more inclined I am to believe it will be Scolari.

Cheers,

Butch

i think Ronaldinho will go to city.

chelsea will appoint scolari as the new manager

They really could buy Ronaldinho I have no doubt in my mind. There is an positive side to it as well putting aside the fact that Ronnie don't come to Chelsea. More heads will turn from Roman to Thaksin and the press will dig all the little details about his past.

BTW a question. Do you see ManCity as a big club, like ManU, Arsenal and us, now that they are wealthy and buying big stars and will succeed eventually?

I ask it because we are still not considered a big club by many people..

If City go all out for him, they could potentially sign a version of our Sheva. Can show signs of brilliance, but few and far between. And we paid lots of silly money for him

am i the only person that would love ronny given the right price.

You certainly aren't mate. He may not be my first choice, but he certainly is a much more possible choice than the others.

how old is he 28/29 (im guessing)

he's a completly different player to sheva, sheva is pace and power somthing that has wained.

I think a fresh chalenge and a new league is just want the goofy one needs and i honestly think he would tear it appart. And if we got hold of his i can see him having the zola affect!

for the record i was never for the sighning of sheva for the reasons above, i thought he was the wrong age to be coming to the prem.

One man who has worked with Ronaldinho close hand, with the national side, is Elano and he can see no reason why the forward would not grace the Premier League.

"This is not a common transfer, to move from Barcelona to Manchester City," Elano told Esporte.

"It is not something that is considered usual but I know the structure that the club has and I know it could be good for him.

"I hope he can go to Manchester. It would be a very important transfer for the club."

Looking like it is, and I'd probably say its Scoalri now.

I hope you're both wrong. icon_eek.gif

If we really wanted Rijkaard, they could've wrapped up his deal ages ago and despite his success at Barca, I'm not all that convinced about his tactical capabilities.

As for Scolari...He's been at more clubs than Anelka and only twice he has stayed for more than two years. At most clubs he has stayed for just one year. I'm not sure what the reasons for this are, but he doesn't sound like a great man to have as your manager if you're planning for long term. His greatest achievement so far has been to get Brazil back on track and lead them to World Cup Glory after a nearly disastrous qualifying campaign, but has he really achieved much as a club manager? 300.gif It's quite a different thing to manage an international team compared to being a club manager.

According to one source these are his achievements in club football:

3 Brazilian Cups, 2 Copa Libertadores, 1 Recopa Sudamericana, 1 Brazilian championship, 1 Mercosur Cup

Could be a lot worse, but not exactly recordbreaking stuff. 317.gif

Actually...looking at that list, he sounds like a Brazilian Benitez. icon_eek.gif

If we can get his head back in the game and was available for a reasonable fee, he'd surely be a wonderful signing.

i hope he doesn't leave before august 6th, i've got tickets to the barca match in ny and would love to see him! I just laugh anytime i think of ronnie wearing that baby blue and white shirt.

I don't know if i'd want him here, im 50/50 one half of me thinks he'd score 30 goals+ the other side thinks it'll be aother shevchenko.

I think most of us think that. The question is, is it worth the risk?.

I beleive it is...

I also believe that the lack of interest involved in Ronnie will set a lower price for him. So it's most defaintly worth the risk, totally different player to Shevchenko.

Imagine Quaresma and Ronaldihno as our wingers, that's alot of flair icon_eek.gif

if the price aint over the top like we usually seem to get charged i would take him. of course there are concerns about his night life and his fitness but what that geezer can do with a ball when he is at it is brilliant. i honestly dont think he will even intertain the thought of goin to city... would you
