Gem
I really can't see it happening, even if he wasn't happy with the wage etc, Liverpool wouldn't sell to Chelsea.
dkw
i thought the same thing gem. i dont think liverpool would sell, but i do think the american idiots would. would you be happy to see him at the bridge?
Gem
A young, pacey forward at the Bridge... Hell yeah! Especially as he's shown he can do it in the Premier League. However, he will need to wash his hair more than once a month.
dkw
However, he will need to wash his hair more than once a month. you always have to find fault dont you id love to get him, just to see the faces on the dippers as he turns out in chelsea blue. be fantstic. Alan
I'd love to see Torres at the Bridge. I remember saying on here that I wasn't sure about him as he'd never scored more than 20 goals in a season but I think last season proved he can hack it in the premership. And plus it would piss Liverpool fans off no end. We'd be killing two birds with one stone
blizeH
He's a great player, but all it'd do is mean they'd go out and sign Villa and have £10m left over to spend on someone else. Not sure I'm up for that. Why don't we just go get Villa instead?
Scott
It won't happen this gives it a chance of happening just to show me up
TheWestwayWonder
Yes he is a great player, and he is actually a player I havent grown to hate by default (seems like a respectable fella, despite playing for that rabble) but there is a less than zero chance he comes straight from there to us, unless Hicks is so incensed at being hated by the fans he tries to screw the club over before selling However, I do see Torres getting lowballed/annoyed in future with something at the club, namely their inability to win major trophies, and transferring elsewhere. My guess is they would do anything to sell a talent like that within the Premier League Now, David Villa on the other hand.....
Butch
Torres is not going to happen; we're just putting ourselves up for a big disappointment. Unsurprisingly, the rumors are just going a bit overboard at the moment. We'd do well to relax a little, at least until the end of the Euros. I have a feeling the merry-go-round is still waiting on a few players involved there to begin. Cheers, Butch

blizeH
I wouldn't say Villa is better, but I imagine he'll be a lot cheaper, and readily available
TheWestwayWonder
Does anyone else see this like the ongoing Stevens rumors a few seasons back? Soon we will be treated to sensationalistic headlines like "TORRES REJECTS CHELSEA CONTRACT: PLEDGES FUTURE TO LIVERPOOL" after a convenient number of shirt burnings Granted, Torres seems like FAR less of a selfish c**t than Gerrarhds, but hey, with the media I am preparing for the worst
t0ji
Would be crazy if he came, I'd be happy with him. I don't think Eto'o is as good as him, but hey I may be wrong. But in Aguero you have a talent ready to mature, and under Scolari I think he'll only get better and better. But it would be awesome if he came, my liverpool fan mates would kill me though!!!! icecoolguy22
IF the rumour is true, the only reason he want to join us is he want more money We had a Cashly already, do we need another? Why dont we just buy Villa? It's a lot easier.
Lofty
The only reason? How about ambition? Look at us v them: We finished higher in the league, and got futher than them in all three Cup Competitions. We came within a whisker or three of a treble, and could easily have gone on to win the fourth, unlike them who only made a serious attempt at one single competition, as they do every season. Add to that the chance to play with a greater number of world class players, and to move from rat muncher central to London. No I don't think Torres is coming to Chelsea. But if he did, no way would it be "only for the money".
mad_mac
DOubt he'll come for a couple of reasons: under his captains armband back in Spain, he had "you'll never walk alone" written under his arm-band even before he was linked with Liverpool. Secondly, I doubt that Liverpool would sell him cheap, so we could get someone else for a lot less expensive. Finally, I doubt if liverpool were to sell him that they would do so to us! blueday3
Whats Liverpool without Torres - 24 goals and a load of wins less than they are already. We should buy him just to send Liverpool to mid table. And I suppose he could play well for us while he's at it.
Guest
under his captains armband back in Spain, he had "you'll never walk alone" written under his arm-band even before he was linked with Liverpool. Thats a good point... He's said things about being a Liverpool fan long before he joined the club.
evissy
Why are we allowing these out of the blue rumors here. Someone plays well in Euro's and he is immediately linked with us. Saying Torres could move to bridge is like saying Fergie is our next manager. I don't like these daydream rumors. Ronaldo joins Scolari in Bridge...come on! Tim
Agree, there is no way he will leave L*verpool for us. No way. YNWA and all that crap. I wouldn't want him now either, regardless of how talented he is. We had our chance to take a gamble on him. We didn't, L*verpool did, and fair play to them, it has obviously worked out. There are enough talented strikers out there, let's try and find our own star, instead of sniffing after our rivals'.

gustyheadhunter
NO CHANCE id love to be wrong but i doubt it. i have to take my hat off to him cause he seems to be pretty loyal to his teams after all he had loads of teams after him for some time but never left athletico until liverp**l came in for him.he has said previously that he always wanted to play for them and recently said that he would not leave because it is his club, his city and his ground...obviously the guy is easily impressed but still at least he seems to have some respect for a contract and the team he plays for
