MHedges
http://www.guardian.co.uk/football/2008/ju....premierleague1 The guardian report Inter are ready for a deal of £15m + Adriano for Lampard. I know some...well...just about none of the people on this forum rate Adriano very high, but could be interesting as we are in need of a quality striker. MHedges
For some reason I can't edit, but: The Footballtransferleague.co.uk have the guardian as the highest percentage of transfer speculation accuracy out of any newspaper, so according to them it has a 42% chance of being correct. Chelsea FC Champions
Hang on a second, who's paying the £15m, us or them!? Internazionale are preparing to offer Chelsea a part-exchange deal of £15m plus the Brazil striker Adriano.
Ruh Buh Juh
Adriano's agent is tight-lipped on reports the Inter Milan striker could be used as bait in a bid for Chelsea midfielder Frank Lampard.Inter are hoping to sign Lampard and have already seen a near £8million offer for the England international rejected. The Italian champions' president Massimo Moratti stated on Saturday that it is now up to the player, who has yet to agree a contract extension at Chelsea. The latest speculation claims Inter will offer Brazilian striker Adriano plus cash in a bid to tempt Chelsea into a sale. Adriano's future at Giuseppe Meazza is uncertain after talks with new coach Jose Mourinho and his representative Gilmar Rinaldi did not confirm reports he could swap places with Lampard. "Mourinho and Adriano have met and talked, but I can't say how this meeting went," Rinaldi told Observer Sport. "The player is flying back from Rio de Janeiro to Milan next week as the pre-season starts on Wednesday. "I will neither confirm nor deny that he will be exchanged for Lampard." Hmm.... blizeH
So £15m plus an fantastic talent who's at a nice age, for someone who we thought we could only get £8m for? Hmm.
dkw
So £15m plus an fantastic talent who's at a nice age, for someone who we thought we could only get £8m for?Hmm. how old is adriano? its similar to ronaldinho this. if we got the footballer who has got his head sorted wanted to get on with his career then it would be a great signing. if we got the idle, disinterested, after a wage numpty hes been lately then bad signing. loz
If we bought Adriano because we needed a quality new striker then we would still need a quality new striker! I just wish there was an antithesis website to Youtube which showed videos proving players are not that good - there would be a library worth on Adriano! Jimboola69
Adriano is a fantastic talent, but fell for the wine, women and song route more akin to our 1970's squad than the modern day parlance. I have to say that £15m + Adriano is a real knicker-loosener. That COULD be a great deal, especially if Scolari is confident of sorting Adriano's head out. Here is the lads Wiki. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Adriano_Leite_Ribeiro Great talent unfullfilled would sum it up nicely. But on his day he is superb. Fast as the wind. abramovich
It's probably just another silly rumor. As for Adriano, very talented and i believe he could have had quite a career in England but he lost his way quite some time ago. Still, if Scolari were to be sure to kep him in check, what a player... But then again, it's a wishful thinking to believe that Big Phil can control every Brazilian star just because he's well respected and also comes from Brazil. Maksimov
If he couldn't find his happiness AND form back at home in sunny Brazil, then how could we expect him to find it in London during winter?
WoodmanBlue
Amazing prospect..............3 years ago. Like everyone else is saying if big Phil could keep him in check this guy has the ability to be one of the deadliest stikers in the prem and would work well with Drog and Sheva. Don't think it will happen though, this boy would rather go clubbing than stay behind after training and practice his shooting. Although if Lampard is going.....and he is being offered for free it doesn't seem like such a bad deal. He wouldn't demand huge wages after the nightmare 2/3 years he has just had. Plus 15 mill is good for a player with one year left on his corntract.

gustyheadhunter
lets get this right while i am not in the business of knockin super frank for any reason it is fair to say that his demands of a five year contract and 10,000 more than he was going to be offered(if these reports are true)is speculative at best. i can understand him expecting to be treated well for his service to the club but i think 140,000 grand a week for a further four years is a very fair deal. having said that it seems to me that the refusal to exept these terms and apparently being outraged by this offer (again if the journo dirt bags are actyually tellin the truth)is just an easy way to get a move. so if frank does in fact want to leave our beloved club for an average european team then i thank him and wish him all the best for the future. what im getting at is the fact that adriano may be a night life, party animal but if they were to offer 15 mill plus a fella who on his day(which aint every day i admit) a fantastic striker then i think we would have to say yes thanks nice doing business with you
Ballack & Blu
Agree with everything said, shame Frank will just be percieved as greedy, but why have the upped the amount they think he,s worth to nearly £15mill =the valuation of a very good player, summat aint right
icecoolguy22
I think it's about time Frank speak out about his future, surely he had enough time to think it over by now. I have nothing against him if he declares he want to leave, and I have the feeling the club will let him go if he makes up his mind. If this offer is true, we should take it. Adriano aside ( could be a perfect striker for us if big Phil can put him in shape), 15 Millions for any footballer in his last year is a lot fo money.
