Posted July 20, 200816 yr I run forevermanutd.com and we're running a feature pre-season trying to get the thoughts of all the other clubs on last season and next. I was hoping someone could answer these questions? 1. How do you rate your last season? 2. Who was your star player? 3. What was your view on our own season? 4. Which player impressed you most from United? 5. How do you see this season going? 6. Is there any player you would like to see join or leave your club and why? Many thanks to Loz who gave me permission to post these questions here :)
July 20, 200816 yr 1) A good season considering all the changes and instability at the club.. 2nd place and champions league final is a great ride when you consider that most where expecting a transition season 2) Ricky C!! 3) I dont think your as storong as ferguson likes to make out, i think ronaldo is the difference maker but not in the big games. it seems lesser defenders just fear him. All that said you cant moan about your season really can ya, league and CL. 4) see answer above although he does disapear in the big games 5) Really to early to answer that question. have to wait to see what happens transfer wise. if ronaldo does go 40 goals is going to be hard to replace 6) For me its segio aguero to come in and malouda to leave.
July 20, 200816 yr 1. Very well considering the circumstances; disappointing since we were runner up three times (and came very close each time, especially impressive against a very strong Manchester United team) but overall I was pretty happy. 2. Ricardo Carvalho 3. Can't go wrong really, won the 'proper' double with a very strong team. 4. Ronaldo, by quite a way. Destroyed a lot of lower teams and I think he did well against the bigger teams too when needed (i.e. scoring in the CL final) 5. Not sure, I'm excited about it, but it may take a while for Scolari and the new signings to settle in 6. Players I'd like to join? Too many to name, all of the usual suspects really. To leave, I'd like to see the back of Anelka more than any other player.
July 20, 200816 yr 1. How do you rate your last season? Emotional! Considering what a mess we were in late Autumn it was a fantastic effort from the players.2. Who was your star player? For me Carvalho. Though many on here will sayJoe Cole. But on here some people vote for Joe Cole as mom if he puts in a good cross! 3. What was your view on our own season? Cant argue with the double you won. Though it couldve been very different of course. Best team won the League but not the CL. 4. Which player impressed you most from United? Obviously it would be churlish not to say Ronaldo. Though despite being a despicable individual Evra always impresses me. 5. How do you see this season going? Hard to say. There are still a lot of changes to be made i think. Im sure it will be exciting and Big Phil looks great value already.Would like to get the title back but i think we will need a solid start we have some tough early games and Big Phil will still be finding his feet. 6. Is there any player you would like to see join or leave your club and why? Leave ? Malouda. Join ? A decent striker. Anyone to play with/replace Drogs. Shevs legs have gone. Jury is out on Anelka and Pizarro is rubbish
July 20, 200816 yr 1. How do you rate your last season?..............a good season, could have been better 2. Who was your star player?....................Carvalaho 3. What was your view on our own season?....................lucky 4. Which player impressed you most from United?................anderson 5. How do you see this season going?................we will win a few trophies 6. Is there any player you would like to see join or leave your club and why?................malouda to leave, he's crap
July 20, 200816 yr 1. How do you rate your last season? great effort from the squad, unfortunately way too many hurdles for them to overcome. 2. Who was your star player? carvalho followed by ballack. both head and shoulders above the rest. 3. What was your view on our own season?obviously, you can't really ask for more. 4. Which player impressed you most from United? ronaldo clearly, and then ferdinand. 5. How do you see this season going?no idea- hope for better football 6. Is there any player you would like to see join or leave your club and why? ashley cole and malouda... oh I can imagine the tears of joy Edited July 20, 200816 yr by gullit4
July 20, 200816 yr 1. Phenomenal given the circumstances. Most poeple has written us off from the moment Jose left so to be runners up in 3 completitions exceeded expectations as of that moment 2. Over the whole season Ricky but on the few games he played Ballack 3. Premiership thoroughly deserved. Luck of the pens in the champ league final but really should have had us out of sight by half time 4. Paul Scholes. Can't tackle to save his life but a great passer of the ball who brings so many other players into the game 5. Even if it's only half as much a roller coaster as last season it'll still be well worth watching 6. Malouda to leave. I've already got my wish as Deco is here. Has an eye for the pass like Scholes but blessed with more pace.

Many thanks to Loz who gave me permission to post these questions here B) 1. Very good considering the upheaval with Jose and Avram coming in. When Jose left I remember saying that we'd be lucky to finish 4th and qualify for the Champions League. To actually get to the final and come within a post length of winning it was extraordinary. 2. Carvalho. He's been our best defender for the past two seasons and just oozes class. His posititioning and tackling is nearly always spot on. 3. A brilliant season for you obviously. You deserved to win the league, but I felt the CL Final could have gone either way. 4. Ronaldo. However I was very impressed by Anderson. I remember watching the Man U v Arsenal FA Cup game in Jan/Feb and he looked a very classy player. Definitely one for the future. 5. I'm very confident of what Scolari can achieve. He has inherited a very good squad, and if we add Robinho (maybe even Kaka!) then I think we'll be a force to be reckoned with next season. If you sell Ronaldo then I think it will weaken you, but if you bring in Berbatov then I think that will negate the impact of Ronaldo's departure. Rooney and Tevez aren't clinical enough to step up and fill the gap left by Ronaldo in my opinion, but Berbatov would bring some much needed strength in depth. 6. I'd like to see us get rid off deadwood such as Malouda and Ben Haim, as they're not really needed. I'd love to see us sign a young and up and coming star and groom him to play an integral role in the first team. Failing that (most likely) I'd like us to sign Kaka or Robinho, and bring some flair to the team. Cheers foxyfmu :)
July 21, 200816 yr 1. Overall, not bad. 2nd in 3 out of our 4 competitions. Not bad at all considering we had a terrible start. 2. Riccy, by a long shot. Ballack in a close second. 3. In fairness, you were nion unbeatable. CL final though...bit on the lucky side... 4. Must be Ronaldo. He's a whiny git, most of the time, but you can't deny he's got talent. 5. With Big Felipe, should be very productive indeed. He's already trying to bring in Kaka and Robinho, should be a very interesting season  6. Leave - Malouda, Ben Haim & Pizzarro. Never did anything. Belletti aswell as we've now got 3 RB's, with him being the worst, to be fair. Join - Kaka & Robinho would be much appreciated.
July 21, 200816 yr 1. Very saddened by Jose going and the roumoured involvemnt of Roman in first team issues. But considering that, Avram left us with great respect, probably the hardest year in managment and nearly achieved so much. Very proud to have reached the CL final and think we should great character and class. 2. Ballack for me, and an honourable mention for Frankie.. played well considering the year he had 3. Think it was an excellent season of course. Deserved I am afraid to say very lucky with the CL final. But you got there and saw it through can't argue with that. 4. Ronaldo of course, as other said can be marked out of the game easy by a decent defense.. shame we had Essien on him int he CL final  5. I would be happy with one trophy, shame Roman wouldn't... but looking forward to see how Deco gets on. Also looking forward to some of the younger players coming through under Scolari. Hope that Scolari is able to get on with his job. But hoping for decent football abaove all and challenging on all fronts again. 6. Torres, what the hell is he doing at no hopers The Poo.. hopefully he will realise after this season. I dont like anyone leaving. Maybe SWP after his Dad has mouthed off again.

Many thanks to Loz who gave me permission to post these questions here I'd have to agree with what Gullit4 said but say though I don't like Ashley Cole, I don't think we should sell him and that Kaka would be an amazing addition if we can pull it off. Ohh and in response to quiestion 5. I honestly think we have a very strong chance of winning it this time around. Edited July 21, 200816 yr by Guest
July 21, 200816 yr The answers so far have been pretty consistent and mine wouldn't be any different except to say that I was in NY when Jose was sacked and a couple of weeks later I said to my mate that I'd take 4th place and finish the season now. In the end if it wasn't for some dubious refereeing at old stratford, we could well have won the league!!! Just for the record, will this go onto a manc site where they'll all laugh at how bitter we are? What do you make of what we've said, and do you agree?

Many thanks to Loz who gave me permission to post these questions here 1. Good under the circumstances, (especiallly as we had terrible injury problems again!) but ultimately I was disappointed. Unlucky in the CL final. The better team won the League. The FA Cup shambles was the toughest to take. 2. Ballack, for me, although he only played a part in the latter half of the season. 3. Pretty much summed it up in response 1. 4. For me, Giggs. Thought both he and Scholes rolled back the years, and I think people underestimate just how much you will miss them once they’re gone. They are nearly irreplaceable. 5. Well Scolari, so far, has made ALL the right noises. Very impressive. He knows exactly what he wants, and there were shades of Mourinho about him in the press conference, but without the touch of arrogance. He seems very genuine. He wants to cut the squad down (which, to a certain extent, he has already), bring in a couple of his own players (which he’s done), and add a couple more. Plus, he’s not afraid to look at bringing in youth, which is music to every Chelsea supporters ears. (Check out Franco Di Santo). He’s also very religious, and always looks to create a family atmosphere, which after Grant, the players are now thriving on, so all in all, I’m very optimistic, and given we make a couple more additions to the squad, we will be pushing you all the way again. Which brings me to Q6…. 6. To Leave; Wright-Phillips. (Never convinced about his ablity to perform consistently well). Pizarro (Plainly, not good enough). Ben Haim (See Pizarro). To Arrive: Berbatov or Villa. (Both class players. Preferably Berbatov). David Silva. (Valencia).

I don't know the personality of every visitor to the site but the peeps on the forum won't laugh at how bitter you are we got a Scouse and a City fan on there so they're used to hearing all this crap :o I agree largely with what you said. I was very impressed by Ballack last season more so than Ricky I think. Though the latter certainly is a bit more sporting and elegant on the field. We should have tied up the league much sooner than we did. Champions League we dominated you in the first half and should have scored more than one and put the game to bed. But you came back in the second half and it was a deserved equaliser. We both had moments of luck, then when it gets to penalties it could go either way, though I don't think Cech is very good at saving penalties (but his orange loose jersey was very effective at making him look bigger/the goal smaller). I thought our season was brilliant as you've said can't ask for much more shame about the F.A. Cup and would have liked to see our reserves give a better shot at the CC. Still need to learn how to play our own style in Europe although you have to change your tactics slightly I think we could have beaten Barca with our own game. For me, after Ronaldo, Carrick impressed me hugely last season fought off competiton from Hargreaves and Anderson by adding more to his game and is now one of the first names on the teamsheet. Scholes and Anderson obviously impressed too, you forget how much the gingerman brings to the field. I've got United down as winning the league while retaining the CL IF Ronaldo stays or Berbatov comes. Should be a good battle, between us two again though I think. The attraction of having Scolari in charge is clear with a lot of Portugese and Brazilians being linked to you. Not sure he's the best man for the job but we'll have to see, got quite a lot to live up to. I can understand why you want Malouda to leave hasn't impressed me at all. Don't think Robinho would be much better though, Quaresma would probably be better but still not good enough. I think Sheva could still make it. I'll let you know when the articles up and link back.

Many thanks to Loz who gave me permission to post these questions here :) 1. Sad to see Jose leave, lets be honest. Grant ran with a team that Jose built, and the loses to you lot and the Spuds were very hard to take. To Finish 2nd in teh league was better than I could have expected after Jose leaving and being replaced by someone completely out of their element! Then to make it to the CL final, that was dream like. 2. Ballack, for me he really dominated the games he played. Closely followed by Ricky 3. f you'd have had the injuries, bans, and African Cup of Nations player missing, like we had, you'd've been fecked. Take Ronaldo out your team for any length of time, and there is no way you'd've been such a threat. 4. Ronaldo. Arrogant little bar steward, but a great player. 5. So long as we win, adn the scoucers get relegated, it's all good! 6. Drogba. As much as I appreciate his goals, he's becoming a parasite on the club. He think's he is bigger than us, and then to come out with a "10 days till i decide" quote, and still nothing...to me, that smacks of "i want to leave but no one really wants me!" In the CL final, I wish JT hadn't held Vidic back, as I think Vidic would have nutted him, and then we'd both be down to 10 men. Player to arrive? Any one of: Villa, Huntelaar, Arguero. Robinho Scott

July 28, 200816 yr Author It was firmly tongue in cheek, very balanced replies with a hint of bias which is what you come to expect but also what you're after on a fansite. Bias leads to banter which is all good! forum is http://forevermanutd.com/forum
July 29, 200816 yr 1. How do you rate your last season? ok concidering jose got the boot 2. Who was your star player? ricky carv 3. What was your view on our own season? the best example of a one man team ive ever witnessed 4. Which player impressed you most from United? vidic 5. How do you see this season going? us for the league and cl 6. Is there any player you would like to see join or leave your club and why? messi because he is the best player on the planet at the moment even tho that ballet dancer yous have seems to get all the credit.
