Not played a single minute for us and I already hate him.

I’ve heard fans call Enzo a ‘big game player’ but that applies to players who are good every week and then excel in the big games like say Drogba. What’s the term for a player who only shows up for big games? Unprofessional ? Half hearted? Lazy? You can’t exactly call him lazy he covers some ground, maybe ineffective is a polite way of saying it. The guy has been the un droppable midfielder that has just seen us finish 10th and while I do think he is a different type of player to our other midfielders I hope Alonso doesn’t fall into the trap of trying to get a tune out of him because far to many games went on around him last season. All games are big games if you want to be successful.

With the way the Argies have behaved towards us, I genuinely would be very happy if we never signed one of their players again. It was real eye opener, or reminder, just how much they hate us.

Tuchel has regressed as a coach in recent years. He's become way too defensive minded. Remember our Champions League winning run and how he had us set up when we defended? There was always an out ball. Werner, Pulisic, Mount, Havertz, they were always available to take the pressure off the defence, and even a full back would move forward to help. He doesn't do that anymore, he goes too defensive and there is never an out ball.

I'd rather have seen James lifting a WC alongside Saka and Madueke.

I just see Enzo coming back here being an unwanted headache for Alonso and would love for someone to take him off our hands. I don’t see where he fits in our team and would rather reinvest in players that improve our 11.

Atletico aren't averse to a huge value signing - paid €127m for Joao Felix ... so could there be some mileage here ? Hjulmand and Fernandez could be a new look midfield for them to get them closer to the top 2 in Spain ?

Wasn’t his “ dream to live in Madrid “ ? Pretty sure he didn’t say Real as his preferred destination. When it comes to what they would pay they paid vast money for Felix and that was what 7 years ago so add that to the fact that slowly they are slipping down the league and getting less points than I think they probably will need to be making some sort of statement. I certainly dodnt dismiss the possibility of him going to Atletico for +£100m

Every move we've made in this window so far has weakened our squad. That includes the addition of a fresh batch of clueless 19 year olds. Unless we get a couple of proper players before the window closes, next season is going to be a very, very rough ride.

Sad news for us. He's been a very good, consistent defender. Far better than the French trio we spent megabucks on and now can't sell. I know the club have to raise money - and we've been good at that over the years - but his departure weakens the squad IMO.

There is a lot of Argentine influence at Atletico, and with them selling Griezmann, I always imagined it as a destination for him. Simply put, he's priced out for 99% of the world market. Atletico included. I'm like 95% sure he stays.

Ahha it all makes sense now. I was so confused earlier. I read our own @GarnachoCheese saying he wanted us to be rid of all Argentines from our squad, but that just did not make sense given that would include his namesake. But now you have cleared that fog of confusion for me Sconnie. Thank you!

Some rumours about he, or rather his people, are in discussions with Atletico. I don't see how that happens. His "dream" is to play for Real and I don't expect Atletico would offer even 80mill never mind close to 120mill.

Very interesting to see people claim he was amazing. He was fouling players and pumping shots into row Z for 85 minutes until he he one down the middle of the goal that Pickford couldn’t get his tiny arms to. Enzo has had an amazing world cup, scored in the last two and good goals too, no tap ins. Perhaps RM will be back with a big pay cheque yet then again the talk is Mourinho is going there.

I'll take Enzo winning his 2nd than seeing the likes of Saka or Madueke lifting a WC.

Wouldnt be surprised to see Stones return to Everton on a free, if they can afford his wages.
