I've just got back from the game, not much more to add to whats already been said BUT... Mikel was outstanding for me today... but lucky to be on the pitch after that utterly utterly stupid tackle. He's either a liability or a vital part of the team... shame its 50/50 at the moment to what he is. My first experience in the Shed end and it beats the heck out of the West and East, the singing and chanting was non-stop, exactly how its supposed to be.

Great performance and a pleasure to watch, especially our work rate... I know we usually like a bit of flair, but against this sort of oppersition it would have been easy to ride our luck and grab a sloppy 1 or 2 - 0. We didn't stop and I think that will do our confidence a world of good going into Saturday's derby.

I've gone with the majority on this one, great finish for the first and great turn and snap shot for the second. Should have taken him off at half time but I'm sure he wanted the hat trick. PS- someone lend Essien some shooting boots, could have been 7 or 8 !

Apparantly the new SatNav systems can't find England anywhere in Europe... ... Did you hear? Steve McLaren went to a fancy dress party dressed as a pumpkin, he was hoping he'd turn into a coach. Oxo are bringing out a new gravy cube, its going to have England written over it and be called 'laughing stock' Gutted about not going through to the Euro's, but I heard them on Wednesday night about 30 minutes after the game... Shame the players on the pitch weren't as fast as our humour!

This is the sort of fixture that, last season, whilst your Liverpools, Arsenals and even flippin' West Hams were banging in 4/5/6, we'd get 1 or 2 and sit back for the rest of the match. Maybe it was tactics, maybe it was because of injuries, maybe it just wasn't in our mindset - but we have got to go out and turn on the style and win this game by as many goals as we can physically get.

Wow. They don't even mention 'a source close to the player' or 'our sources inside the club'... that is standard tabloid talk and they can't be bothered to even add that.

We didn't make our chances tell, same old story. Great finish, and you can't blame Carlo really, but the defending was clumsy. With the Mancs on form... our defensive injuries... they're going to be hard to catch.

The Mancs are on good form, and although Blackburn was going to be a tough game, can't be surprised with their 2 quick fire goals. They have so much speed in their attacks... speedy football and more importantly, fast players.

Loved the celebration too, haven't seen him go that mental for a long time. We've had the chances so I think we deserve the lead, we've just got to keep it tight at the back now..!

Alex made good connection with that, but he struck it right at the player on the line with the accuracy a sniper would have been proud of. Still, good block.

Well said Loz, as Rupert Brooke wrote 'If I should die, think only this of me: That there's some corner of a foreign field, That is for ever England.' - what all these men and women go through and what their mindset must be is nothing short of heroic. I just wish every man and woman who were deemed 'cowards' because they killed theirselves during conflict, should get a pardon from the Government NOW. Its their propaganda that made the majority sign up, the least they can do is give these brave people an honourable death, because they sure didn't care what happened to them when they were living. [i know Rememberence Day is more than just about WW1, but for me it has the most issues that hasn't been addressed, even more than the war in the middle east].
