Two point totally thrown away today - that game should have been dead and buried long before the final whistle. Who gets your vote.

Lamps for me, Mikel and Bridge were also impressive.

SWP had a stinker and Didier didnt get going until the last twenty minutes.

Lamps and Mikel were both excellent.

Bridge played well until their goal. He was, IMO, partly at fault for it.

All told, (SWP's crossing aside), I felt it was a very good performance. We played some lovely, neat football and made more than enough decent openings. We just couldn't finish them and Howard had a great game. That's how it goes sometimes.

Against City everything went in, today it didn't.

I voted for Bridge who, along with Lampard and to a slightly lesser extent, Mikel had a good game. I take your point about him partially to blame for the goal Just and it is true that McFadden was given all the time in the world to deliver the cross however I still think he was worthy of MOTM. I think Belletti also has to take some of the blame for the goal as he didn't exactly make life hard for Cahill.

As you said Just on another day we would have been miles ahead of Everton. Too many missed chances and poor delivery when we did break.

will go along with that...

voted for lamps.

Difficult to chose today. I was going for Bridge today but he disappeared in the 2nd half and did some mistakes that cost us a goal and could have cost us another goal earlier in the game. Still nice to see him back.

In the end I went for Lamps. He was solid and his shots were very good. Just unlucky not to get one past the keeper.

Spot on Just !!!

This could easily have been another Man City type result.

We had at least THREE clear cut chances in the first half and Howard made 2 World Class saves to deny us as well. Second half was all Chelsea too and again they cleared off the line.

The Man City game, everything went in. I felt we played just about as well as we did against City, but Everton were a bit better organised and we did not have our "shooting boots" on.

Mikel and Alex for me, but there wasn't any "brilliant" performance.

As someone wrote, the first made perhaps his best match on a Chelsea shirt, and only lacks the confidence (?) to shoot.

Alex looked composed, confident and quiet, wich - to me - was a good sign.

I voted Alex.

I voted for Mikel I thought he played maturely although does give away free-kicks in dangerous areas.

Lescott was the best player all-round though. bolt.gif

Just got back from the game, must say I reckon Alex had a good game and done Ben Haim's job as well

Agreed Tim, I though Alex looked very solid indeed, against, admittedly a far form adventurous Everton attack. Both he and Anichebe look even bigger live than they do on TV!

Other than Mikel, Wayne and Frank, I also though (up to the goal) that Beletti had a good game icon_redface.gif which, given everyone else's assessment, proves that watching a game live doesn't always give you the most accurate impression!

So sorry Alan !!!!

I'm having a bit of trouble with the new layout.

Apologies too to Just. icon_lol.gif

Who the F**K voted for SWP???

He was abysmal.

My 14 yr old daughter could cross a ball better than him.

In the first half Beletti also went in for a tackle and completely missed both the ball and the man. Such a bad tackle icon_lol.gif

And Mikel did look very good, he's a bit petulant at times but he is calmness personified on the ball and makes it look so easy.

Voted for Mikel. Reminds me a lot of Vieira both in the way he plays and his somewhat suspect temperament. I have high hopes for the lad. Really quick feet which gets him out of trouble when he gets closed down.

True MOM though was Lescott. We know Didier's strong but Lescott was his equal. It surprised me how good he actually was, very impressed with the lad. Get Richards and Lescott, get rid of TBH and boy would we have an immense back four.

Lescott absolutely bossed Didier up until the goal. It was almost embarrassing how easily he disposessed him time and time again. It's a shame that on an international level we seem to insist on blooding new players out of position, so they have absolutely no chance of showing their true capabilities. See also Andy Johnson (not that I think he is good enough, but he could be a decetn back-up, if proven)
