Following our nearest and dearest rivals
I'm more worried that Arsenal look like they might get back in to this. Much as it feels dirty, I have to want Utd to win.

Following our nearest and dearest rivals
To be fair, Van Persie can point to a lot of goals this season. Everyone misses sometimes. It when you miss everytime that people start to take the piss.

Valencia now. This is comedy football. City and Spurs are miles ahead of both of these jokers.

And while we're at it, Walcott is pants.

Why couldn't he have been that sh*t against us?

The "everything you want to say about Torres" thread
I wasn't making any comment about whether he was worthy of the MoTM vote. I was simply asking how many of the people on here who voted for him actually saw the match. In my experience, lots of people vote without having seen any of the game in question. Particularly when the match isn't shown live on British TV. So using this poll or indeed any newspaper poll as the basis for any argument is fairly meaningless. For what it's worth, I thought he had a good game and was certainly a strong candidate for our best player. On the other hand, I thought Mata had one of his worst games for us, particularly in the second half.

The "everything you want to say about Torres" thread
I'd be interested to know how many of those 86 people actually saw the whole game.

Roman is under the Cosh
I've still got no idea why this is being heard in a british court. Surely it should be happening in Russia? I fully expect Roman to win, but if the court does find in Berosovsky's favour there is not a cat in hells chance that Roman will pay up. That does raise the question of where it would leave us though. He would have to leave the UK and get rid of his assets here in that circumstance.

Norwich v Chelsea (PL) 21/01/12 KO 12:45 GMT
I'd have thought Cahill was a good bet to start.

Joe Allen at Swansea ... Better than Josh ?
Strange, because i thought Sinclair was disappointing. He showed exactly why we let him go. He has a bit of pace on the ball but too often gave the ball away cheaply and took the wrong option. A good player for Swansea but nowhere near good enough for a top 4 team.

To be fair even we managed to score three against Arsenal! (we won't mention their goals). Swansea have actually struggled to score goals this season. I do agree though that they played beautifully yesterday and thoroughly deserved their win (even if Arsenal's second goal brought back nightmares of our match against them)

MOTM vs SUnderland
Lamps had a problem with his groin in the warm up. It looked doubtful he would be able to play at all. Expect he was struggling to make the full 90.

Legal fees?

Di Maria
That may be true, but he is a very good player. He has more assists than anyone in La Liga. Of course, that means there is not a cat in hell's chance that they would let him go.

Josh McEachran - We need to play him
I think we have to assume that AVB doesn't think he is ready to play a major role in the Chelsea midfield. He clearly started off thinking that he would play more, hence not letting him go out on loan at the start of the season. He is still only 18 and this sort of loan must be good for him.

Surely being racist involves you having a genuinely held belief that all members of a particular ethnic group are inferior because of the colour of their skin or their ethnicity? It would be perfectly possible to decide to make a racially abusive comment to an individual with the specific purpose of causing them upset without actually being a racist. Of course that might not make you a very nice person but that's a different argument.

MOTM vs Portsmouth (FA Cup)
I always enjoy these MoTM threads when the game hasn't been on TV! Some might call it a patient performance, others a lacklustre one. On the whole, we were pretty ordinary. We played at a pace that Portsmouth were comfortable with apart from the first few minutes of each half. I presume that Ramires is the front runner based on his two goals and the fact that most voters didn't actually see the match? He played alright and it was interesting that his goals came after he was pushed forward in to a wide right attacking position after Malouda was taken off. I thought that for the first time in a while Frank actually had a good game. He looked to move the ball faster and played some very nice first time balls.

Tottenham Hotspur vs Chelsea (PL) 22/12/11 KO 20:00 GMT
Nope. Sturridge lost the ball in a tackle with Sandro. Bale picked it up and ran at Bosingwa and crossed and Cech missed it to allow Adebayor to score. Mikel not at fault at all for that.

Chelsea v Fulham (PL) 26/12/11 KO 13:00 GMT
I quite enjoyed Bosingwa at centre half. He seemed to be very comfortable there. If Luiz is fit then I would guess he'd play, but I'd have no qualms putting Bosingwa in there. Also thought Ferreira had a very good game. Midfield will presumably include Frank as Ramires is suspended. Drogba will play until he goes off to the ACN.

Player ratings vs Spuds
I'd definitely have Sturridge ahead of Mata on marks for last night, but I can see where Plokoon is coming from in that Mata really worked hard defensively. Good for the team but it isn't really conducive to getting the best out of him going forward.

Player ratings vs Spuds
I can't agree with you their Just. Bossy did as well as you could expect. Bale just put in a try good ball without beating his man - a little Beckhamesque! Cech had to collect that ball. In the end he actually missed it altogether. His subconscious was telling him to watch his head and that split second of hesitation cost us the goal. I don't blame him, because I don't think he can do anything about it, but we saw him do the same for the goal against Leverkusen at the end. He felt he was going to collide with the post and hesitated.

Suarez
I tend to agree with this. My take is that Suarez was giving Evra the wind up and picked on the thing that would be most effective. Not necessarily a pleasant approach and he might reasonably expect to be sanctioned for it, but I don't think it tells you anything either way about whether he is racist or not. I'd apply the same criteria to JT if he did indeed call Ferdinand what is claimed.

Button it Frank ..
Yep, I'm all for free speech. It allows me to tell you that you're a poor judge of a footballer, a poor judge of a man and as mad as box of frogs.

Have we got a song for Mata yet?
Come on all you Jim Reeves fans out there - let's be havin' you!! (Would it be impolite to tell you that he was my nan's favourite ) and now having listened to it, it might well send the whole ground to sleep!!!
