ANELKA DEAL VIRTUALLY DONE ...
oh well! hope he does some good, but i don't necessarily like this one. Our last signing from Bolton doesn't exactly install confidence in me; also, what happens when Didier comes back? Will Anelka sit on the bench happily? I don't think so; so, are we happy to shell out 8 million for a striker who will probably be with us for half a season, and only really start games played during the ACN?

New Mourinho joke-video
Happy with cabbage? that is hilarious!

Blackburn vs Chelsea MOTM
who voted for Lampard? Gem? Riccy for me too. Kalou was a decent player today, and his through ball for Joey was sublime. Other than that, not the best game ever, but i will happily take the 3 points from a trip to ewood

Blackburn vs Chelsea Thread
Other than the goal, I don't think joey did much! in fact, i can't really pick a MOTM because the over all team performance was below par! The commentator even said "looks like CHelsea are playing after their Christmas party!"

Anelka and Di Santo ....
I hope so mate, because the thought of that d i c & from reading on our team...it just doesnt bode well

Anelka and Di Santo ....
The Hunt of whom you speak?! I hope you don't mean that Cantona from Reading?

Blackburn vs Chelsea Thread
Alan, you and I have pretty much got the same team and bench! Which is pretty much the same as Loz's. I don't think Ballack will start, but I could see him coming off the bench Never reveal what I think the score wil be, but I hope we make a strong srart to our holiday season (have to say holiday season, incase your audience aren't all Christian!) Anelka and Di Santo ....
Sory for my mistake, that was meant to be Me Bluenut DORSET and now it looks like Scott. I think he will bring goals, but really, I only see this as us paying 8 Mill for a half season out of a player. This to me, is due to Roman and Jose not getting on. Roman tightened the purse strings and therefore all we got was Pizarro (along with Sheva who we definitely should have tightened the purse strings for)...so now that neither of them are looking too encouraging for us heading into the ACN, we are going for Anelka as a stop-gap signing. I would prefer we just give this Santos kid a run, along with some of our youngers for a coupld of months! Scott

Olympiakos
My sentiments exactly Scott. It is the best of a abad bunch! The trips to Greek and Turkish clubs are usually filled with tremendous atmospheres; remember Galatasaray, I would love if we went away to a hostile environment like this and got a result like that! Milan's old defence might struggle against the younger Arsenal team, but I think Seedorf and Kaka as well as Inzaghi will give them a hard time. Man Utd got a decent drawa, I don't think Lyon are as good as they used to be. Liverpool's exit at the hands of Inter will be the final nail in Rafa's coffin! However, should they beat Inter (which I really doubt they will) I would love to get the scoucers again with the chance of US being that Nail! Barca against Celtic...Celtic will probably give them a good run at hime, but Barca will finnish them off in Spain!

Ever been caught on camera at a game?
that's class Geezer, you hopefully have a picture of that framed...? Your daughter, and Chelsea getting the title in the same photo!!!

Diarra - would you have him back?
Mike, I do see where you are coming from, it is hard to take someone back to your team after they have already left, for pastures new! However, I thikn the Diarra case, for me, is easier to forgive and forget, should he come back to us. merely because, he is young and french and was offered 1st team footy by a French manager. I can understand why he would leave! However, I would never take Gallas back, because he was with us, was a senior player, and left for a main rival...even though he was winning medals with us (therfore could not use that as an excuse FOR leaving us). Same as I would never take back Poyet. Once you have been with us for a while and then took off to a rival, then it all depends on how you act once there

Telegraph say Van Der Vaart to Chelsea
I think before it is too late for us and too late for him, lampard should realistically leave at the end of the season. I think it will more than likely be Juventus rather than Barca (the Barca thing was mainly press speculation) because Barca really has a decent enough midfield!

Anelka and Di Santo ....
So, that's me, Bluenut and possibly butch all in the NO TO ANELKA camp! Anyone else

KAKA - World Player of the Year
not sure why that link isn't working, but it is worth doing a cut and paste job in your browser and watching that highlight. It is the highlight reel of mainly Kaka's skill in the world Club Championship. The final was AC Milan against Argentine side Boca Juniors the guy is amazin, he single handedly tore Boca to shreads Scott It would be an absolute dream if we were to have him and huntelaar in the same team. Also thikn Sheva might even benefit from him

Carling Cup QF vs Liverpool
what he should have done (Mikel) is "got up, dusted himself off" and then kicked the *%&$ out of Crouch!

fat spanish wa*ker
I can't believe that there is even a debate. It is a shokiing attempt at breaking someones leg. Pretty sickening! Imagine the outcry if it had been mikel doing it to "our precious england internatinal centre forward"

"Super Sunday"
aye, heard one bloke call for the champions of the MLS andthe South american league champions should get spots in the CL...would make for one hell of a long away trips!!

Andriy Shevchenko - Hard done by?
One of the main culprits for not giving him service is joey Cole. Lately Joe has taken on shots, looked to goal rather than for a pass, that he shouldn't be taking. Sheva has ran and ran, and tonight especially. I just wish Lamps would also stop lobbing high bals towards him hoping for him to be able to do something with it(that tactic only worksfor Drogba, and even then it is now and again) Scott

Centre Half??
I just read on SS that Grant is to have funds made available to him in the jan-tran to bring in a striker, and possibly another central defender?! the striker I can agree upon, but a Centre half? http://www.skysports.com/story/0,19528,11668_2991294,00.html

Anelka and Di Santo ....
I agree, no way should we get rid of Kalou. Also, anyone sold should not be sold until the summer. for once we lack any real depth!

Liverpool MOTM
tough one, I think people are overlooking cech's performance also. However for me, I went for Essien

Carling Cup QF vs Liverpool
have to admit, seeing as I was in match chat, I didn't pay particular attention to Sinclair, but what I did see showed huge amounts of promise. I think that Lampard's goal was his saving grace, otherwise I felt Grant may have subbed Ballack on for Lampard. It was great to see him back playing, he really is class. I felt Sheva wasa gain trying too hard, but he did follow play back and amke some nice tackles here and there to break up the liverpool counter. I said in Match Chat that Sheva shoulld just play off the shoulder of the last defender, as that is what he does best. His goal was, for me, the epitome of the goalscorer sheva can still be And, I also like that he scored with Ballack on the field and contributing to the goal! I think Ballack could be the "muse" for Sheva Lampards free kicks are woefull, I think Kalou or alex, or Sheva should all be ahead of him in the pecking order!! however, it was great to see him lifted in spirits after he scored. I really think he needed that! And yes, moos, that was his 99th goal for the club! Essien showed class again, and it showed how much we missed him the the loss to the gooners! He and Mikel both play in a very laid back fashion that I think some people misconstrue as laziness, but they are very effective at what they do. I was suprised to see TBH in ahead of Alex, and again he showed that his class at Bolton was merely a "good player stnading out in an average side" type of thing. MOM for me? cech or Essien

semi final draw
when does the january transfer window open? I wonder if we will get anyone in up front who will start immediately in these games? Everton are a strong side, and I recon it will be a tough match. however, with ballack back, and Riccy, and hopefully everyone else staying fit....I think we might have a decent chance at making the final Scott
