I see that the rest of the US pre season has been postponed, anyone know what happened here? It is now listing our next game as being aginst Feyenoord, and not the Asian game and then not even LA Galaxy

I remember saying a while back, while living in the states the 1st time around, that if they wanted to, if the government or sporting authorities gave them the backing then the USA could dominate world soccer. The reason being, the infrastructure of college and sports working hand in hand, and the training facilities available to each college athlete could produce a seriously strong athletic team Now, I know being an athlete doesn't mean you will be a great footballer, but it is merely making a point. If the States can constantly churn out athletes again and again who can comepte at major levels in any sporting activity the chose, means that if they chose Soccer, they would go "all guns blazing" into dominating world soccer. Just look at the Olympics, and the number of top athletes whom represent the USA. However, due to teh relative unpopularity of Soccer out in the states, it will take a HUGE turning of the tide of public opinnion on soccer before this happens. Soccer is mainly seen as a girls sport out here, as Title 9 (a law that states every dollar spent on male's scholarships must be spent on females) will forever see Soccer as a way of offering more Scholarship money to the men. A whole team of 20 girls on full scholarships pays for more than enough of the mens' Basketball team, and a good few of the Football teams. It is often that a University out here will have a Female soccer team, and no mens. This to me, is why US women's soccer has been so strong for the last few years. The men could be that way too. Lord knows they have enough population and athletes to do so if they wished. However, back to the USA and Britain. British comedy mainly consists of talking about the toilet, and stupid walks. American humour is mimicking shagging, and farting. British beer for mass consumption is better than the mass produced sh*te out here, but there are some great smaller "micro" breweries that could give a good few of our top breweries a run for their money, and simultainiously urinate on Carling etc from a great height. To be honest lads I think we may all be on the same page here in thinking that Johno will not remain a regular Chelsea player. I feel that if Jose had true faith in him he would have been back by now. I liked Johno as a player, but I think he is better as a right sided mid (see his game against Blackburn at Ewood a few years back where he scored a great goal in the dying minutes of a 3-2 thriller), than he is as a RB. Also, as little as Paulo played last year, does anyone else feel that he and johno may be on the bench together, while TBH or Alex (if we get him) play at RB?? Especially if we play with wingers, then we won't need attacking wing backs who can link up, and the defenders will be there merely to defend

well, that does it. It's the Diamond all season long! Although I truly hope we do play a bit wider with some excitement form the wings. It also means that we no longer need fret over which of our wingers may leave. Although Robben still looks a doubt. However, if we were to play with two wingers, then who, out of all our central mids will get to play???

I guess we are all anticipating seeing Joey Cole back for a full season, adn I hope we see him play, a LOT!!! I am also intrigued to see how ballack and sheva will cope, and if Jose will even play sheva that much. It will be good to see them after a full season settled int. I am excited mainly about Kalou and Mikel, as they are young adn the future of our club. The bison is just awesome, so can't wait to see him. I also hope to see Terry after nailnig down a solid contract!!! As for our new signings, Malouda will be great to see, and how we will utilize him, and I look for PIzza to make a good impression when the man mountain DD is of for the ACN

God I hope so too Alan, this time last year was when Joe Cole picked up his injury, and he hardly played all season. I know we Have Cole back tehre, so maybe that will help him with a run in the team, but at the same time, it may make him lacsidasical as he won't ahve to fight for his place

Ok Brian, I am really glad that you started this thread. Not because I want to post any trailers, although the new Transformers on with Bonecrusher skating down the highway bursting through a bus before diving headlong into Optimus Prime is great. However, when I went to the premier of the Transformers movie, this trailer of the JJ Abrams came on the screen and had the whole place buzzing. So, me and the two people I went to the Transformers premier with got talking about it. What the heck is this movie about? I thought, although this could be tenuous, that seeing as the guy was getting ready to go to Japan, and then there was something attacking a big city, that maybe they were making a decent rendition of the Godzilla movies? Any ideas?

La Haine is another great movie that I almost put in in my L categorie. It is French, and black and white, but it is really worth a watch. Anyone else think of any B&W films released recently that are worth a watch? I remember seeing one called Pi that was good too

I think if we do sign Malouda, then he will be our only "big money" signing of the summer. We ahve got in some great palyers on frees as back ups. As you have said Alex is still not 100% ours, but if we do get him we are getting a great player there, and cheap (although we may have paid for him in the past) Ben Haim, is great back up, and as much as Jose loves to mess about with CB's playing out wide in some games, I could see Alex (if we get him) to play out there too. Johno I feel may be loaned again, but I feel Paulo is a great player too so we are pretty covered there. LB we ahve two of the best fighting for position there. If Malouda comes, I feel either Sweepy or Robben would be on the way. If I were to guess I would say we will cash in on Robben who would cover the cost of Malouda thus meaning we have spent nothing this summer. Now, if we do go for Alves I think that would mean the end of either Johno or Paulo. But Alves is an exciting player, and if we play the diamond formation then he will give attacking options down the wing (just as Bridge and Cashley do on the left.) I also think johno offers more a an attacking defender than Paulo, but Paulo offers more defensively. Therefore, signing Alves is not necessary. Midfiled, we have a wealth of talent, and I think sidwell's signing to be baffling. Diarra, Mikel, Maka are all way infront of him in my mind. And I think Mikel is better in an attacking role Pizzaro, and Sheva upfront during the ACN to me means we will play a 4-3-3 during that time rotating either of these strikers. With Malouda/ Robben on one side, and SWP/ J COle on th other side. Anyway, are we better than last season? I certainly think we have better coverage in all areas Scott
