  1. This is also the first season where it really has been "Jose's" team. In that there were no left overs that he had to deal with, and most of the team are made up of his signings. The decisions and guess work for who our new manager will be starts here Scott
  2. You are being ridiculous Lady Diehard. Honestly, what the hell has big sam ever done to shaow that he is the pedigree of a Chelsea manager(in todays terms) I expect, and hope, Jose to stay, but I also hope that he is man enough to realize that playing with one power forward is not always the ebst tactic, adn that he starts to utilize our midfield more effectively. We ahve such talent and creativity out there, adn yet we rely too much on Drogba being able to outmuscle the opponenets' defenders. Sometimes it works, sometimes it doesn't, but when it doesn't we rarely seem to have a plan b! Scott
  3. totally agree with that. Tonight Maka showed how invaluable he is in big games, and I hope that Diarra was sitting on the bench taking notes feverishly. Also, Drogba missed a couple of good chances tonight, one where he actually went over the ball, and a couple of times with weak headers. Scott
  4. Agree mostyl with that Pauly, but to be honest, at times Kalou looked like our best outlet with some of his runs. I do, however, wish we had taken him off sooner. Also, get the lad a bit mroe aggressive, he had a clear chance to header one home and he cushion headered it back into Reina's hands. Scott
  5. Gutted, Yes. Dissapointed, yes. Wanting to see heads roll, not at all. However, I do deel that this was Jose's last chance. I think he said it would take 3 seasons to gel and win thigns as a team, so his own success is ultimately his downfall. To win so much so soon, but fail in Europe, has got most the backroom staff feeling that we can win the CL just as quickly as we won the premiership. I fear Jose will be off by the end of the season Scott
  6. If you thought sky was bad, you should listen to that smug little Irish prick (nothing against the irish, just this one) and his man juicing of Gerrard, Liverpool's history, and Anfield being teh 13th man. He said that Liverpool deserved to win, and this was still in the 1st half!! Scott
  7. Never ashamed, alwys a blue. Gutted and rightfully so. I only hope AC make it through and then trash liverpool in the finals. If we don't win it, I do't want any other british team to win it. Scott
  8. I also was shocked to see Robben up first, irrespective of what Jose asked him (it did look like Robben wanted nothing to dow ith taking the pen) the man was fresh on the pitch, it was a huge occasion, and he is hardly known for penalites, not that many of our players are. However, to further beggar my disbelief, Geremi comes in for our 3rd?? WTF???? That was it for me, as soon as I saw Geremi come up, a player who has had very little time in the Chelsea side all season, let alone tonight, ti was almost like Jose biting off his nose to spite his face. If he had won tonight it would have been "the greatest tactics ever used" but we lost, and we were shown to eb toally inept all night. Only a few players played like the cared, essien, maka, terry and lamps. But for 2 of our first 3 penalty takers to eb fresh subs....can you honestly expect them to rise to the occasion that quickly? Hindsight tells us, NO WAY!!!!
  9. Agree with this toally, now I am not calling for it, but I think next season we will see a new manager at the helm for Chelsea Today just showed how uncreative we are as a team right now. Long ball, no real use of width, a bit of width followed by another long ball. All we had to do was score ONCE tonight, and we would have gone through, there was enough defenders out there worth their salt that we would have weathered the storm.a loss of 2-1 and we still go through, but tonight it was the same old sh*t. Long ball, no real threat, adn the only time we did look good was when we passed the ball. All that talent out there and we just buypass the midfielders (what's the poit of having all these great midfielders if we don't play them) and hoof hopefull balls up to an ever diving Drogba Scott
  10. Porn, now there is an idea, what better way to cure all that ails you today! However, back to the main point, I think that our tactics of hoofing it up to drogba are so school boy it is a joke. the other teams could easily read that this was going to be our effort all day, and they just bloked us out of it...Diabolical. I hate to say this, but we have gone from being in with a chance of teh quad, to in with a chance of only the carling cup, and if we continue to play this long ball, then that will be all we have. I also fear that, his failure to bring in the CL, and the supposed arguments in teh back room (sheva not even on the bench?) will mean the end of Jose's time at Chelsea Scott
  11. If we keep playing long abll tactics, and approach each game with such negativity, then I can't see us winning anything else! I will not vote on this, as I now have the advantage of hindsight, but the premiership is too much to ask for, and the CL just went up in smoke with some of the worst tactics I ahve seen in a game where just 1 goal could have seen us in the CL final! Scott
  12. DOn't see it happening, maybe a number 2 role for him like steve clarke, but not as our main man. And a 9 year contract? Bollacks, no player should be given a contract that long at his age, no matter how much we love him, it is the club above all Scott
  13. oh by all means I think the tactics tonight were terrible, as they seem to have been for the latter part of this season. And the fact that we didn't bring any subs on!!!!!!! Ashley cole was constantly making decent runs, good give and goes, adn then punting the ball into nowhere. Itw as like watching a schoolboy play football. Anyway, this rant, I fear, will continue in the appropriate CL forum Scott
  14. Theri loss, was indeed our gain. Proven agin tonight against Liverpool, the little man was immense. Breaking up tackles everywhere, and his short range, and even some long range passes were excellent Scott
  15. I am suprised that Boulah wasnt played against Liverpool today. We really missed him out there today (riccy) but a valiant effort by Essien. One of the few Chelsea players who looked like they cared about trying to win!
  16. Well done to Man Utd, tehy played well all season, they scored goals much more frequently that we do,and we were ravaged by some pretty strenuous injuries...as were they, but I do't think quite to teh same extent as we were (losing a captain and a number one keeper is tought). we are still in with a shout at teh treble, but then again, so are they. We don't deserve to win anything, and I think a lot of us need to realize that fact. A lot of us waited so long to see us win the league, and we have now seen it twice in our lifetime. to see us win teh CL would be amazing. It is great that, in this day and age, we can even dream of competing at such a level, when we were very close to no longer existing! Scott
  17. In all reality, who the hell are you to command that Chelsea win every game, and the title evry year. Jose has been nothing short of spectacular since comming, and believe us, a lot of us have waited a long time to see Chelsea lift the League. We are still in the FA cup, and the CL, and we already have the first silverware in our cabinet. Man U plaid well this season, and they deserve it more than we do. Simple as that. Well done to them, and we will be back next season looking for vengance Scott
  18. It was actually really funny, they then had some pretend wrestler come out called Robbie Liverpool, who seemingly had beaten up 6 guys (to which MacMahon Jr said, well, maybe they were members of your Chelsea Football Club) Smile wiped off Jose's face
  19. I asked this in the Chat room during the match, but thought that I would throw this on eout there for you all to consider. Do we play Drogba at Anfield? Firstly, I think 1-0 is far too close to rest on our laurels and play for a 0-0 to take us through, so I feel Drogba is needed now more than ever. However, do we start with a 4-3-3 again and play sheva upfront as the lone striker, hoping that we do make it through, and thus Drogba would get to play in the final shuld we make it? I know that Drogba has proven immense this season, but I think it would tear him up inside should we make the final and he couldn't play after picking up a yellow up at Anfield. The commentators even siad something about the Liverpool players being acutely aware that Drogba was a yellow away from suspension, so were deliberately targeting him. I feel they will do so even more up at Anfield. So, here is the question again, do we risk losing Drogba in the final by using him up at anfield, or do we rest him and let sheva have a go, knowing that Drogs can always coem on as a sub if needed, and also if we do get through using Sheva, then drogs is there front and centre for the final? Scott
  20. well, if your nervous tonight I hate to think what our nerves will be like come tuesday night!! COME ON THE CHELS and that is my 2000th post...scary
  21. well, if your nerves were shot tonight, I can't think of what we will all be like on Tuesday night! A good open game, for the neutral. However, I think that we let them have too much space at times, and we also failed to capitalize on some of our 1st half pressure. Reina's save from lamps in the 1st half was lucky, but there were others Kalou needs to learn to shoot sooner Glad to see Cole start, and get a good game. If we go to atack, we should play Bridgey at left back insteda of ashley. All in all, a goal, and they didn't get one. Bring on anfield Scott
  22. about to kick off, decent line up for us, LOZ I hope you are right about the score!!! Revenge, that is all I ask for! Scott
  23. 7. echo and the bunnymen 8. The who 9. A Tribe called quest.
  24. I know a few boys that have travelled to both countries. ONe of my mates got hit on the head with an iron bar leaving a pub in the ukraine...basically didn't take kindly to westerners coming in and chatting up their birds! I think with a huge scale arrival, incidents like this might happen less frequently, but if people go in there acting like they are the shi*, then expect the locals to react as anyone proud of their country would. Especially in a country that has only recently (in historical terms) opened it's doors to outsiders Scott
