  2. Essien been listening to Bridgey too much in claiming three points!!!

Good pouitns made alround, and I can empathize with both sides. Obvously it is hard for some of us to make it to all the games (geography, family, money, etc) and we envy those of you who can. That doesn't mean that nearly every gaem we aren't on our laptops or wahtever, just trying to follow our team. However, I do have a problem with the JCL's who have supported Liverpool, Newcastle, Arsenal, Man U and real Madrid. They can fark off back to the tesco bargain bin and pick out another shirt because they have no rigth to affiliate themselves with any team, let alone chelesa Scott
  5. I spoke with several people about this lately, and I am so torn I don't think I can vote. You see, Andy "tit" Gray said that he wouldn't consider Chelsea a great team until we had won the modern day title 3 times in a row, such as Man U have with the premiership, and Liverpool did in the 80's with the old division 1. I really think I would pay the long distance rates just to call him and ask him if, now, he will admit we are a great team. Also, this year, we ahve been chasing the whole time, and many have written us off for the favour of the mancs...sir red face taking the trophy back to where it rightly belongs, etc. I would LOVE for us to snatch it from under their noses. However, we have all now seen Chelsea lift the EPL in our lifetimes, and then we saw us repeat it the following year. A great feat, and one that we will all hold dear. BUT, will we ever see us win the CL? I can't say, but in the words of Jose "not always the ebst team wins a knockout competition. So, does that statement reduce teh credibility of the CL or does it make it that harder to attain? I feel it makes it harder to attain. IN knockout, the ebst team doesn't always win, favourites can get knocked out to underdogs who score a lucky goal and then defend lilke their life depends on it, and it takes character for teams to find a way to win in these competitions. Like it or not, Liverpool's comeback against Milan was a sporting spectacular (to the non-biased). It is football at its grandest stage, adn I wuold LOVe for Chelsea to have their names on a Trophy that stats, just once, that we were Chamions of Europe. I rememer Zola scoring the winner for us in the ECWC final, and I thought that we had reached our peak then. Now we seriously can contend for the Champions League....it doesn't get much higher in world football (at club level) Scott
  6. he is still good friends with JT and Lamps, so a move for him to come back to us would be more realistic. Also, the mancs have always been linked with him Scott
  7. he certainly adds more of an attacking option. Also, I now fully realise why we went after him so hard. Him and Kalou could be great players in the future, albeit more is needed from Kalou Scott
  8. a couple of you should have put some cash on that 2-1
  9. got Vialli in there too, just didn't put the ST infront of his name
  10. Also, good to see joey get a full half in, and although Mikel was partly to blame for the first goal, he played well. Cech sure let him have it when he was standing on the edge of teh 6 yard box when they got a shot off....told him to get out there and close them down. hopefully he'll continue to learn while with us
  11. WHAT NIGHT!!!! Two great saves from Canizares to deny us tonight, bossed them in posession and I honestly thought we were not going to get it done THANK GOD for Essien, goal and the cross for sheva's. I don't think my heart could have taken extra time Fist English team to win in their gaff, and a possible revenge match against the liversum!! One poor thing to point out...about 90% of lamps free kicks.
  12. i' stick with the same team for 10 minutes then bring on kalou and possibly Joe or sweepy. I think Mikel let morientes in too much space for their goal. But maka has been slightly off pace Scott
  13. Joaquin playin well for them, and our final ball is non existant. Morientes back to haunt us. We will have to push now, and they will hit us easily on the break! Doesn't bode well Scott
  14. Horrible feeling that Valencia will dive and play-act all night!!! This is going to be close....nervous as all get out!
  15. Essien yellowed, will miss next match IF we progress
  16. man this is a great idea, favourites as opposed to best, and this is quite challenging also with so many players that have come thru who have "touched" us all GK. Carlo, been with us for ages, never getting a champion's medal was hard for me to take RB. Steve Clarke CHappie and Petrescu, hmmmm CLarke coz he's Scottish and our #2 right now CB. Desailly. Legend and we had him at his peak CB. Terry. The man Bleeds Chelsea RB. Le Suax. Even if he did transfer out, he came back, and I loved him for the feud with Fowler (or do a BJD and stick Clarke over here and then cHappie at RB) RM. DI matteo. Cup final, 97. Enough said. Tragic end to his career (and I never saw Pat Nevin or Charlie Cooke play) CM. Gullit. One of the main reasons I followed Chelsea more and more closely CM. Wise. Same reason as JT. Plus he was a vicious wee F*cker. Sir rednose saying he could start a fight in an empty house was classic RM. Zola. The best buy for Chelsea, and a joy on and off the field ST. Guddy. I just think the guy had vision and touch like no other. His little chip against Man U. His Spectacular against Leeds Vialli. Just though he was great, and he brought us Zola Bench de Goey (pornstar goodlooks) Bridge (Goal against Arse, CL and Rannieri's subsequent reaction) Gronks (for the goal against Liverpool, end of the season before Roman took over, and then after he was subbed he sat on the grass at the edge of the pitch) Sparky (tough call to put him on the bench, but I just liked Guddy and Vialli better, slightly) Gallas. He was a class player, until the arsenal thing Deschamps. Like him or not he was a great player Steady Eddie Newton. Name says it all, and the fact that Hoddle admitted he built his game around him!! LOZ, great call on Johnsen. We had a few CBs that were steady and he was one of them...forget the name of the other...think he went to Bolton (the player I can't think of right now....was a big fella, think he had a De-something name) had facial fair/goatee...someone help Scott
  17. A draw helping us is assuming that we win every single game we have left. So they would drop 3 points against us, and 2 somewhere else. This way, we would be two points ahead. Cheers lads, I knew we had to win out...oh well, back to teh beer and the Masters Scott
  18. don't they actually have to lose, a draw would still give them a point? Or is my brain foggy from all the beer I have consumed watching the masters this weekend
  19. It would not eb a failure, it would merely leave us yearning for more next season. A thing thos of us in the pre roman era are used to Scott
  20. I gope we do mate, and thanks for the "support" I also hope that you will take the full wrath of some people on here who will blame you for our first conceeded goal, claiming that you jinxed us!
  21. The sarcasm was also in my comment saying that there really was no pleasing some people! May need to take a quick shot of that machine yourself mate!!! I guess I should use those pesky emoticons moreoften
  22. one quick trip to recafe.net is worth a laugh too. They are all talking about smashing them (although a few wiser fellows talk of fratton park games scaring them) and then at the end they are all calling Richardson a "cantona" and the James happened to play a blinder against them. Scott
  23. yeah that looks like an owner who ahs no interest in his football team anymore! Where are the lerners and glaziers?
  24. WOW, I doff my cap to them! Only once though Scott
  25. sorry to come and rain on your parade folks, but even IF we beat them at the bridge, we are still being hammered by goal difference. We have to hope they drop points against someone else as well as having us beat them...anyone likely to take points off them? Not so sure. I would hate for us to lose to the mancs on GD Scott
