Gvardiol is not an option. He’s too good for the level that Chelsea are at right now. We’re not a Tier 1 club no matter who we think we are; to put it in other terms. We’re the Royal Marines, while the others were competing with are SF. We all want to be SF but it takes a certain breed to get there. We were hovering around selection when we were winning titles but never passed; winning the UCL was us passing the briefing course but now we’ve got to go back on selection if we’re gonna cut the mustard. Unfortunately with our current crop, it’s like going on selection with an injury, it’s not gonna happen unless you slam ‘brufen every 4 hours. We need to paper the cracks with ‘brufen and maybe then we might have a shot at dining on the elite table again.

If he was to be joining Chelsea, it would have been done and dusted by now. I understand why people want to play for Barcelona but why are we competing with them for signatures? It just ends up making the club look an embarrassment to the masses. It also can’t be good for the morale of others at the club.

Argo your content on here is superb but today I disagree. you’ve emphasised everything wrong with the current side; complete reliance on the full backs to provide for the shambolic presence of our forwards; bar Mason Mount who has put shifts in. Liverpool lost Van Dijk and STILL finished ahead of Chelsea in a season where they also had countless injuries to deal with; injuries can’t be used as an excuse for some of the absolutely horrendous displays we had last year. im not saying it is Tuchel, it is more the players if anything; he, however, has to get it right this year and has to try and bring in some new talent that can make us operate with a back four. I genuinely think Koulibaly and potentially Kounde coming in will allow us to go back to a back 4; then it’s on Tuchel to start getting the football moving FORWARD.

I’ll probably get chewed for this but I’m having massive doubts about him going in to the new season. I believe a lot of it comes down to whether or not he has the ability to make our attack more effective; Hopefully we can make 1 or 2 additions to the forward line this summer and ship off some deadwood because I genuinely don’t think Tuchel has the ability to get the best out of players. I think he’s a coach that flourishes when he had a team that wants to play under him and is on board with his coaching style. There is a large percentage of the current crop of players, to an extent, who need a kick up the arse but TT isn’t that type of manage; ie. A Ferguson. It’s all well and good signing these defensive units but the reality of it is, we have zero ability to pass through the lines, our pace of football has been tediously slow and our forwards (for a f**king long time) just magically forget how to put the ball in the net. Something has to change. We can not rely on defenders to win matches for us next season, not with United and Spurs inevitably making a resurgence. I hate to say it, even Arsenal. I think they will be a very dangerous unit with their additions; mainly Jesus, who IMO (counter to some banter I may have put on his thread) has the potential to be a top, top class forward.

If he prefers Barca then let him f**k off to Barca. The club should stop any sort of effort to try sign someone the second it comes out they’d prefer a move elsewhere. If you sign a player where Chelsea aren’t his first choice, they’ll never give 100%. He’s a vastly over-rated centre half who’s played in a league where 70% of the talent wouldn’t put a shift in the Championship let alone the most competitive league in world football. Jules Kounde would get found out here. He has nothing of any sort that would remotely make him a success in England. The vast majority of all top centre half’s in this league have above everything; exceptional physical attributes. Van Dijk, Matip, Dias, to name but three; whether it height, speed or strength. Kounde is a ball paying centre half who looks the part running after 60kg Spaniards who have never set foot in a gym. We’d be better off putting his transfer fee and then some towards a player like Gvardiol or Skriniar, absolute power houses of defenders.

I think the problem is, pre season is already under way and we have absolutely ZERO movements with the squad. People showing up for pre season who shouldn’t be anywhere near the team next year. It’s incredibly frustrating. It really does show how f**king terrible our previous board were in the market as even with sanctions, they could have got deals in place for the second ownership changed.
