That does look like a team for the next good few years, with the exception of Ballack, who would be replaced by Essien, and Anelka who would be replaced Aguero. ;) Kakuta for me definitely deserves a huge chance to get his place in the squad, but to get it he will have to bypass Kalou and Malouda, which won't be easy. Malouda will probably leave soon enough, so he's not a problem, but Kalou is 23, and unless we put him back into the striker role like he's been billed to play, I don't see Kakuta getting that chance. I know it's unfair, but it's true.

I agree. It seems Scolari has given no thought to our young Welsh star. In all the games I've seen him in, he has moments of absolute brilliance. I don't see the point of having 3 main squad keepers anyway. 1 first choice keeper, 1 second shoice keeper, and a keeper in the reserves is perfectly decent cover.

Won't happen bcarrol. Any youngster we apparently go after is just mere speculation. I for one have given up caring if we sign anyone this January. As long as we strengthen the squad in the Summer, I'll be happy. January signing never really hit the heights as much as Summer ones anyway.

Well, it shouldn't be Van Der Saar's record IMO. With Cech, he really did work for that 1000 minutes and saved us so many times. It's the defence that have given him the record, not him.

I for one am not that bothered about Carlo joining Tottenham. Yes, he's been with us for 10 years and was an amazing keeper for us, but he just needs to be playing football, not sitting on the bench game after game, and showing the form he showed when he was with us. He certainly is a Chelsea Legend to me.

HAAA! That's one of my favourite comments so far! Surely getting rid of Deco has more sense than getting rid of Ballack? At least Ballack has played more good games than Deco. He may not be perfect, but 3 goals in the last 3 games?

Why do ITV think it's wrong for everyone to get an equal amount of coverage? They give full highlights of certain games and then just a quick round-up with the rest. So what if the show finishes after midnight? That's what MOTD do, why don't ITV? Setanta should be scrapped aswell. It's utterly pointless. Bring back Prem Plus!

It's not MOTD unfortunately, it's ITV that only shows the major incidents (goals, last minute saves, penalties etc) and the chances are that Kettering v Fulham will get the main feature. I despise ITV highlights.

I agree. Gourcuff would be an excellent buy IMO. Neither Deco or Ballack have much more to give. An Essien, Lampard, Gourcuff midfield is something I'd love to see!

Ahh I see what you mean! I can see where you're coming from with Malouda too...he does have a good effect on certain games. Didn't Di Santo get 30 mins against Stoke? That's a step in the right direction!

Malouda and Deco I agree, but Kalou? He's had 2 great games in a Chelsea shirt and as long as he gets some consistency, he really could turn out to be our best buy in years. Well...I think so anyway.
