loz
Maybe a tad harsh on Kalou as he got both goals but I opted for Mikel with Lampard also in the running. Must admit that was based on an iffy stream in the 2nd half as the radio commentary of the 1st half suggested they were all awful!.
Ruh Buh Juh
Kalou purely for his 2 goals. Only saw the last 20 odd mins so couldn't pick anyone else.
PloKoon13
The half hour I saw made it look like a toss-up between Malouda and Kalou. No, seriously.
Virosh
Kalou. Lampard and Mikel did well, though not exceptionally well, but goals was what we needed.
bjd
Cant fault Kalou for scoring two but apart from that he wasnt that impressive, which i guess sounds harsh. he shouldve really had a hat-trick. from what i saw on my dodgy stream cole looked very menacing throughout. he gets my vote. special word for malouda on his now traditional 45 mins and that is quite simply.... WHY ?

The two minutes of Malouda I saw were of him making a darting run and making an awesome pass. :D
blueday3
Mikel played well, and I thought Ballack looked pretty good in the midfield not giving the ball away, but wasnt too threatening in the penalty area. Kalou for me though for sure -edit- ashley cole looks like he wants a goal so badly, and im not sure about all of Lamps outside shots he takes a lot of good ones, but a lot of shots that more than likely dont have a chnce. BlueBeard
Mikel for me, he ran the midfield. Kalou did very well too, he's improving with every game.

dustbin00
Couldn't watch the match but it's good to see us finally scoring from corners. Anyone have any idea what Kalou's goal celebration is all about? Might be a good question for Week 16's Quiz!!
ethicalstrategy
It's really hard to think of anyone who could be described as man of the match. In the first half we were dire. Second half things improved a bit which I put down to Drogba coming on and Malouda departing and probably a bollocking from Scolari. I voted JT for one thing only. As we were struggling he picked the ball up and drove in to their half, played a one, two and won a corner. I thought it was a captains effort to lift his team. On Kalou, I knew he would be ahead on the voting before I looked but I promise you he was pants for virtually the whole match. He didn't go past anyone, any time he was in a good position he lost control of the ball, he even managed to clear a ball of the opposition line! But he did score both the goals :D I couldn't though, in good conscience, give him man of the match.
Chippy
Just saw the Highlights but don't feel like giving a vote for MOM on a few minutes (Kalou would have got it for those few though) I'll leave the voting to those who saw the whole game. Orangutan
Don't know if I should vote but for the last 35 minutes, I would say Kalou. Showed some intent, actually finished. Anelka looked really good for a spell too. Lamps was solid. Mikel looked strong in the challenges.
Lofty
Same here. I've seen far too little of the game to give any kind of meaningful vote.

guddy69
BenÃtez remained elusive. “The second half was a crazy game and when it is a crazy game you can’t “Why was it crazy? Because it was crazy. In the last three games there has been something in common that I don’t like. I know what it is, but I can’t say anything.†He is mental!! Ha Ha............ But he did score both the goals :D I couldn't though, in good conscience, give him man of the match. this echoes my thoughts totally... the first half was extremely flat- it's strange to describe and it is where individual ratings falls down, because not one player was having a horrible game (kalou in fact was much quieter than malouda in the first half)- no one was playing particularly well either. every single player, terry and alex aside were thoroughly... it's hard to describe. average sort of suggests some good with some bad, but there was no good or bad. it made for a really horrible game overall, boro put 10 and sometimes 11 players behind the ball, at times we didn't look like we were concerned with what they were doing. you know when a sub comes on and doesn't do much good or bad and you give him an "n/a" rating... it was like we had 11 of those. the second half, we saw terry and drogba show signs of urgency, the only players to do so for any length of time. I think for that reason they can be our only candidates. kalou missed a couple chances, as he does, but two good goals also deserves some credit. all in all- you can either say it was a disturbing display of 90 minutes of ambivalence, or that we've started to score from set peices again and a clean sheet in which for once we looked comfortable. ordinarily the performance can be dismissed as "one of those games", and we'll surely step it up next week. thinking about the second half at old trafford though, I fear we may not. blueday3
I agree g4 we defended set pieces and scored from set pieces, as if Scolari decided in training that we need to get back to basics, and work our way up. It may be a little late in the season for that, but we have to start somewhere.

Nibs
and I thought Ballack looked pretty good in the midfield not giving the ball away, You couldn't have been watching in the second half. Ballack gave away possession on at least four seperate occasions. I can see why Mikel gets so many MOTM votes. Last night, for the large part, we were very ordinairy. A lot was going through the middle where it was very congested with Lamps, Ballack & Mikel. Out of those three, Mikel was easily the pick. He saw a lot of the ball and did his usual steady job and plenty of 5/10 yard passes. But for me that is never a MOTM. Hard to pick one really. Agree with ES about JT. He did play a skippers role and tried to lift the team. Also though Ashley had another good game. Kalou showed why we should hang onto him, as he's a useful squad player if not a nail on starter. I've voted for Anelka. He flitted in and out and sometimes his choice of pass was bad,, but he did battle and keep on running all night. He caused Borough problems which few others did. coombsie
I can't believe that Anelka only has three votes. Clearly a lot of the voters were not at the game. He was superb all night (barring one fluffed chance) and his work rate, passing, link up play were top drawer. He was also dropping deep to assist the midfield and back four whenver it was needed but still had the legs to get back up the park and lead the line as we attacked. Awesome performance. He was better in the second half, particularly after we scored and it opened up a bit, but first half you'd have been hard pressed to know he was even on the pitch. Couldn't really see him as being anywhere near man of the match. As a striker he didn't ever look like scoring. (I was at the game :) )
