I think it's just a bit of mind games before the big match. He obviously wouldn't say no to Ronaldo if he wanted to sign for us (I don't think anyone would say no), but it was just him playing with Fergie's head.

If Mikel is a true attacking midfielder, he would've scored more than just 1 goal in a chelsea shirt, and even that was against Macclsfield, albeit a good goal. Mikel, I feel, is perfectly at home in the defensive position. Essien is more at home bombing forward. But to have Mikel and Essien in the team will be difficult, this season at least. Mikel. Essien. Lampard. Deco. Ballack. Malouda. Kalou. Joey. And, now, the possibility of Mineiro. Which 5 do you pick out of that? Cech, Bosingwa, JT, Carvalho, Ash and Drogba/Anelka. They're all certainties. But, if Scolari chooses 2 up front, which 4 do you pick? With everyone fit, the 5 would be: Essien, Lampard, Deco, Mikel and Joey. With everyone fit, the 4 would be: Essien, Lampard, Deco and Joey. But as Virosh said, without Mikel, we haven't had convincing games. This is now Mikel's chance so cement his place in the team with Essien out. Mikel must take this chance if he wants to succeed. So far, he's doing a damn good job.

I love the way he said that if it were a Manc player in JT's position, they wouldn't get the card rescinded. Err, Vidic got away with 2 red card offences at the weekend, and only misses one match. JT makes one yellow card offence and could've missed three. Where's the equalarity here, Fergie? I hope he admits someday that they're a 2 man team - Vidic and Ronaldo. And I just thought of something, the reason this was edited. He's accusing the FA of favouritism, yes? Has he read any of the papers in the last 5 years? It's about time we had a bit of luck.

Like mad_mac, I also am too young to hate Leeds. But my hatred's lie with the Scum of Liverpool. I honestly despise the way the make Gerrard to be the angel of the flaming north, and Lampard, who is in a totally different league of class to Gerrard, is known as "Fat Frank". What have Chelsea done to deserve this? We had some billionaire buy us about 5 years ago, and now we're hated! Jealousy? Most definitely. Man U are one of the richest clubs in the world, do they get the same treatment? Will Man City get the same treatment? Probably not. Why us?

And that's a problem for us how? I expect Scolari to go with the same team as Citeh & Bordeaux IMO. Halsey has stated JT was not sent off for denying a goalscoring opportunity, but for serious foul play, so the 'last man' point is not relevant to the appeal. JT wasn't guilty of either offence and therefore shouldn't have been sent off, so the appeals panel should overturn the card and free him to play v Manure. But they won't. Although he was a selfish and lazy player by the end of his time with us, he was superb for a couple of seasons and is clearly a huge fan of the club. His partnership with Eidur was fantastic until they both seemed to lose form.

I hope Kalou plays. He played so much last season and grabbed his fair share of goals, he played well in the 2 games he played in pre-season and he hasn't been given a run out since!

I thought Bosingwa played really well, he bombed up on down the wing constantly and was excellent in defence aswell. I'd've given him an 8 Malouda played a lot better than ever before, IMO. He got in the box when Anelka went out wide, had a few shots/headers, one of which hit the bar, and he set up Lampard's goal! How does that deserve a 5? Other than those 2, I agree with the ratings. Chelsea hopefully will appeal JT's red, we SHOULD win it as Vidic did exactly the same and only got a yellow, and was much closer to goal, and didn't have anyone covering, as it showed on MOTD. Bring on the Mancs!! :angry:

Right, Mineiro being 30 odd, go for Appiah. And Appiah and Essien midfield could be very useful with their Ghanaean chemistry.

I still trying to figure out if this is a good result for Chels or not. Liverpool win pits them 3 points clear of us which puts pressure on us to perform today, but Man U are 3 points behind us still. Still, they deserved their win, Man U were good for 3 minutes, then they were utterly useless.

How old are these players and who do they/have they played for? Cause I've personally never heard of them...

I didn't know Madrid payed £24 million for him! That's a heck of a lot considering we bought him for £9 million! Brilliant profit, but can't help we've missed his talent the last few years...
