I thought he was worth a punt in the summer, but against us he was poor, I have to say. He just couldn't get into the game. However, with the coaching of Big Phil, he could turn out brilliant. He'd be a risky buy for anything more than £12 million, IMO. Of he's available for £8/9, go for it, I say!

I played PES 09 in Zavvi a few days ago and I have to say it's poor. Poor gameplay, mainly. I advise you get FIFA 09 over PES. :D

Just to say... Essien in CDM over Makelele? Essien in CDM over Mikel in the form he's in now? Nah. Would much rather see him alongside Lampard and Deco in a 4-1-3-2 formation (sorry, Ballack). 1 would be Mikel, 3 of Essien, Deco and Lampard, 2 of Drogba and Anelka (Anelka swap with Aguero in August yeah?)

Of the 2004 squad, I'd love to see Eidur and Robben back for Anelka and Malouda. Eidur reminds me of Deco in the way he reads the game and nearly always played brilliantly (anyone remember when he came on as a sub for 10 mins in one game and got MOTM?). Robben is just pure class, no matter how injury prone he is. He would run rings around Malouda anyday, he's got double the pace of Malouda, better crosser than Malouda....need I say more?

No matter how well Belletti has played this season. He will open up their defence and see gaps no other player would see with a pair of binoculars, whereas Belletti won't. He's a brilliantly intelligent player and it's something that will win us the game. Anelka, as everyone has said, needs to prove he's worth £15 million. Done absolutely nothing so far, he needs to do a few things: 1) Get his positioning right. Against Boro and Roma, he must've been caught offside 5 times in both. Stay just in front of the line cause he has the pace to beat the likes of Carragher and Agger. 2) Passing. He just doesn't know when to pass, which pass to make and when not to pass. He really needs to get his head up and look around for the best option. If he's holding up play with his back to goal, pass to a midfielder. Get the ball on the halfway line with Kalou or Malouda making a run around the outside, thread a pass to them, On a run towards goal, have the option to shoot from 30 yards or pass to Lampard tearing towards goal, pass. Get Deco to give him some tips <_< If he fails to play his very best, he will not succeed at Chelsea. It's as simple as that.

I see LFS is happy with having one below average, fit striker, one rookie and one injured striker. That's promising. Bring in a young striker! <_<
