  1. Wow. First team squad plus youth affiliates, could supplement income by being background actors in the new version of Ben Herr. Fill the auditorium up no probs
  2. 46 players in the first team squad. Legions of young kids being looked at and trained- I’m an old bastard now- was a half decent youth player, and then you had there were a small number of players deemed good enough to go training with clubs, leading on to potential schoolboy forms. Now they’re gazillions in and out of Cobham- live in the area- the changing room facilities at the training ground must be roughly the same size as the Excel Centre
  3. The 33 Million we’ve received adds up to roughly 2.5% of the 1.2 Billion we’ve spent on player, of which arguably Palmer and Gusto are the only standouts. Not saying everyone else we’ve bough is a dud…
  4. So what are your expectations for this season?
  5. Sounds like won of those community engagement projects, where they smile, and make believe they address your concerns are valid, whist thinking “ f**k you. This is our show now “
  6. Prediction- Palmer stays fit-,well end up 6th to 12t-,Palmer gets crocked,? not quite relegation fodder but certainly we’ll down there
  7. Plus Churches, Edward Green and Bally four by two’s. No underwear got nicked thankfully. By the time they’d spent dough decrusting them they’d be worth f**k all
  8. Got burgled whilst on holiday three weeks back. The most high value items were my clothes-,which most of which I wore to Chelsea at some point. Amongst them Casmere Aquascutum Covert Covert, original Crombie Covert Coat, leather Burberry trench-coat, goatskin Gucci leather jacket, Daks hacking jacket, Aquascutum rain mack, DKNY buffullo leather jacket, loads more….have to produce photographic evidence of it or purchase receipts in order for claim to proceed. 10-15 grands worth of clothes That burglary certainly took the edge off my day…
  9. Always sad when one of your own departs ( phrase has Harry Kane mental links alas) There seems to be very little to hang your hat on at the moment if you’re a Chelsea fan. Massive disconnect between owners and fans. Liked him very much. Great energy. Btw appearances at The Bridge very much on a when it suits me basis these days- Season Ticket Holders fancy a day off etc. I know of people who’ve been STH’s for decades who aren’t renewing. Age and relocation further away partly a factor no doubt, however generally being pissed off with regime also appears to contribute.
  10. That Musk geyser has been quoted as one of the richest people in the world for a long while now, despite Tesla only operating in profit, ten years after inception, three years back. Similarities to us, valuation based on future projections. Looks like another South Sea Bubble that could well go bandy
  11. Not disputing what your read in the NYT, just confirmation of personal bafflement over the logistics of football finance
  12. So you pay a fortune for the club, spend a Billion plus on unproven young duds, whose transfer value has probably deprecated based on form as shown on the pitch, yet the book value of the club has increased-,despite no Champions League and the threat of sanctions like a train coming down the track as a result of alleged financial irregularities. My tiny brain, can’t figure this out?
  13. Of water into milk stout.
  14. Eddie Mac looked well old even when he first started playing for us. He must have been born with a wrinkled forehead. Been watching re runs of The Sweeney. John Thaw also had a lived in face. He was only 32 when the series started
  15. Mourinho’s first season we were a winning machine. Duff and Robben on the flanks creating havoc, defensively nigh on infallible. Also enjoyed immensely promotion 84- fan power at its peak. Last three away games Pompey, Man City and Grimsby. Loved to bits the Zola years, culminating in our first European Trophy in 27 years in Stockholm, and Super Cup against Real Madrid at Monaco. Euro trips a novelty prior though we did have have a foray in 94/ 95 courtesy of losing FA Cup finalists to Manure Always remember that poxy Mikita friendly championship at Highbury. We must have had 8000 there preseason “ We didn’t win the football league….We didn’t win the cup…but we’re all going to Europe…”
  16. I thought he was more North Kensington way- old man was a publcan?
  17. Lot of player power in that dressing room centred around Wisey, Vinnie Jones, Townsend, Mick Hartford ( allegidly)
  18. And during the Millwall game in 1995 the Millwall fans chanted Taxi every time he got the ball. In reference to him allegedly clumping a black taxi driver after having been to Terry Venables place Scribes West shortly before and pending trial
  19. Had a brief chat with him in the players lounge at Brammall Lane, after we’d played there sometime in the early 90’s- my mate was playing for Sheffield Utd- quite a scary face up close, mad looking eyes. Started out as a winger from Wimbledon that could cross the ball with either foot, then became a central midfielder. Very important player for us during that period
  20. Apologies for double duping. Phone went bandy
