theGreenBaron got a reaction from Sexyfootball in Andrey Santos Signs for ChelseaLets note forget that potter from hire to fire cost us over 30 million

theGreenBaron got a reaction from WhiteWall in Next Coach? Its not even close, they are leagues away in terms of relative experience . Jose's existence did not begin when he won the CL with porto, lets put aside the aprentaship he served under Robson and VanGal wich spanned almost 10 years, his time at benfica and Leiria the latter of which was seen as a huge success, enough for porto to come and get him.
Porto were not in good shape when he turned up and he transformed them, dont forget that the season prior they won the the Europa leage and all the domestic trophies and they the CL and league double of course.
In terms of ready made manager's there was not a better option on the planet, the completed article with everything still to prove.
Alonso would be my prefered choice, but he could easily be another Villas-Boas.

theGreenBaron got a reaction from C3blue in Next Coach?I think you could have made that argument with Potter at brighton, if we hadn't taken him he would have taken another fairly good job by now, probably the same outcome. our best managers had no prem experience. In fact the only person to have managed two clubs and won the league with the second of them is Claudio. What we need is some one who can walk in to a room look the likes of Enzo in the eyes and say you have done nothing in the game as far as im concered, i'm putting my medals on the table for you and if you follow me you will have a bunch of these as well, if you don't f*ck of out the club.
As I write that it's worth noting that no manager will succeed under these conditions

theGreenBaron got a reaction from C3blue in Next Coach? This a thousand times, some of the converstations i'm seeing flying around (some in jest i know), look Ireola has done great at bourmouth but he's not going to walk in to the chelsea dressing room with a group of players who think they are better then they are and control the narative. There has to be a respect level that will have them run through a brick wall for him, that can be force of personality or medals on the table. Simeone can do both!

theGreenBaron got a reaction from TheCeleryKing in Liam Rosenior - Chelsea Head Coach *Now Sacked*I know it would have been hard to turn it down but this outcome was clear and obviuse before the ink on his contract was signed, Fail forward and fast is not really an option in top level football. He had no resume and ultimately couldn't get the team to buy in to anything.
Very few people can skip the important steps in life, even Lampard who i think did a great job with us wasn't actually ready for the job. You can' buy borrow or steal experience and we now have enough data points to know this.

theGreenBaron got a reaction from Bebe1980 in Liam Rosenior - Chelsea Head Coach *Now Sacked*Im not sure if he's worse then potter, at least potter had come kind of half decent resume. Ok so he worse then potter, I don't think i've felt this bad about a manager since Claudio and right now Claudio would be a gift!!
But the manager feels like the least of our problems, this ownership and management group has done serious long lasting damage to the club, its pure neglagence what has occured and i'm afraid that are not even at the start of the downward trajectory we are about to come in
In the almost 4 years since they brought the club:
No closer to a new Staduim, a commitment that was made as part of the aquastition
F*cked over life long fans shifting them out of their seats to increase corporate sales
Spent most of the time with out a font of shirt sponsor (Despite telling us that the previous ownership were doing a shoddy job)
managed to achieve the lofty title of the biggest year on year loss of any premier league club.
Only managed to comply with finicale rules by selling the hotel and women team... to them selves..
have employed back to back managers who are basically competition winners
Made brighton very rich
For most of the time, minus the last 10 or so games of the poch era the product on the pitch has been awful.

theGreenBaron got a reaction from dermott in Mykhailo Mudryk signs for ChelseaAssuming it was true which I can find no evidence of, he'd be back December this year
-
theGreenBaron got a reaction from Nibs in Liam Rosenior - Chelsea Head Coach *Now Sacked*Was happy to give him a go, even with huge reservations but the evidence is pretty clear. You can't buy, borrow or steal experience, and it is so obvious in this case. He had nothing on his resume that qualified him for this job (Side note that I also felt the time came to soon for frank but he had more then Liam)
people think a Jose was just an overnight hit, Jose who spent years under bobby and VanGal before taking on a number of clubs in portugal, and we only plucked him at the peak of his powers, carlo and conte the same, Chelsea should not be a learn on the job club. Maresca at least had served some kind of half decent apprentaship but he also wasn't ready.
Needs to go and soon, but beyond there the broom needs to keep sweeping all the way to the top.

theGreenBaron got a reaction from axman2526 in Liam Rosenior - Chelsea Head Coach *Now Sacked*This is it. He has answered the initial questions, put some credit in the bank ( boy did he need it) and the improved speed of our game is evident, but does it scale. Can he make us hard to play against, put a bit of a nasty streak in to the team. I'm trying to ignore the fact that I basically want ever manager to be 2005 Jose.. The gap between us and top 2 is much bigger then the 3 places in the table suggests. I have no confidence in our ability to see a tight game out, not his fault but it is on him to fix it. If he goes all Claudio in the weeks to come and put's us in a damage limitation posture it will say a lot

theGreenBaron got a reaction from Shweaves in Liam Rosenior - Chelsea Head Coach *Now Sacked*My thoughts,
The actor comment above is about on the money, he does seem to be trying to encompass the characteristics of other great managers and it's sadly so inauthentic, which is a shame because he seems like a genuinely nice guy and by all accounts anyone who has had anything to do with him says great things. I hate to say it but I just don't see him having the tools to get the job done..
That said, reading the comments in the thread does feel like there is a lot of bias leading here, we have decided he's terrible so the product on the pitch is under the highest scrutiny.
It wasn't great, we could have lost as easily as we won... but then how many games have we seen this season that have been any different? a handful? I long for game control and winning by design, the truth is we don't have the players, he can take some blame for that Tosin should only be wheeled out if the Kit man can't get him self available but lets be honest, even Trev isn't top top level, Forfana colwill both fit and firering wold be interesting, and I believe Josh could become somthing special but we really miss that claiming influence. I'd say the same about the center mid's, do we have that player who we can just give the ball to and control the tempo? Was supposed to be Enzo but it isn't (And i like Enzo, he will be amazing at real)
Now the good, I think pedro's goal came as a direct result of our constant pressing - we are clearly trying to get the ball back faster and that chance came from players closing down instead of back off.
Ultimately, I feel he will not make it out of the season, he does look like a competition winner, but to early just to call time
