Great debut, grew and grew as the game progressed. Just the type of player we needed.

I think we are very lucky to have him, by far away the best footballer on the pitch tonight and has the potential to reach the messi/Ronaldo/Ribery status. He needs to start scoring more regularly and keep consistent to do that.

Matic's performance has to be one of the best full debuts ever in a blue shirt taking into account the opposition and the size of the game!

Can we get back to what has all the trappings of a great game. I think Jose will be happy to invite city on, weathering an early storm hopefully and trying to hit them on the break. My team would line up like this: Cech Ivan Cahill Terry cole Matic Ramires Willian Oscar mata Eto Big game for Matic but made a little easier with toure out. We need him on top of his game so Ramires can drive forward on the counter. We will have schurlle Lampard and Salah on the bench who can offer a difference in both personnel and shape if needed. The first 20minutes of this game is huge

The ball didn't go out of play so couldn't be a goal kick. Even if it was eto still would have been penalised.

so many negative over reacting twats on here. The guys tried to break them down there just wasn't the space. Westham blocked so many attempts and we hit the woodwork twice , some days it just doesn't happen. all the "sign a striker" calls like it would have made a difference in this game. Eto done well tried his socks off. We are tough to beat so i wouldnt rule out us giving City a game on monday, a bit more than Spurs did tonight anyway.

not sure Willian has been as bad as what some are making out. Westham have obviously come to park the bus and all of our midfielders are struggling to break them down. It will come i just hope its before Carroll mugs us!
