Half-time in one of the other league cup matches, and Spuds are beating the Dippers' second string 3-0. However this second string happens to feature a fellow named Fernando Torres and also Babel and Hyypia. It's always good to see the Dippers taking a thumping :D

Yeah, but you're not going to say any of the other players were disappointing because they didn't score. Although it's nice when they do, it's not their main job to score. Anelka's main job is to score, and in midweek he was good at everything but.

I agree! I've always rated Alex ever since I saw him at PSV, and it's a shame he doesn't get to play more often. I even picked him for my Master League team in PES :D

I dunno, I was hoping he'd bring Stoch on when Kalou was obviously unable to continue. It's not as if Belletti contributed a great deal...

Anelka was busy all game and even managed to score this time. Showed some good buildup play, and showed imagination in his passing and threaded balls. Now if he could just play like that against someone half decent...

Any news on Kalou? He looked in quite a bit of pain towards the end of that match and eventually got taken off. Is he going to be out for any large amount of time or was it just a knock?

Drogba, for the sheer ability to score against a defence which has a better class of player than Chris Riggot in it... (No offence to Chris Riggot... he's a far better agent of the game than Carjacker or Ferdinand...)

This reminds me of the incident against Lille (of all teams) in the Champions League a couple of seasons ago, where Ryan Giggs took a quick shot from a free kick before the opposition was ready and before the ref had blown. He was congratulated for this, and gave his team three points... Deco, on the other hand, gets sent off. This is the bit where I remember how much I hate Man Ure...

It was rubbish. First yellow should never have stood, it was a spectacular dive (one of many) from the Roma man. Second yellow was just a joke... What other foul was this that you're all talking about?

I noticed that too. Even towards the end when we had Alex going forward, I don't think we won a single header in their box. And hear hear!

You must have missed the terrible dive from Totti to win the free kick which led up to the goal. And Terry's goal looked offside to me, and he seemed to control it with his hand. I might be wrong... I just didn't want to accept it blindly without seeing it at a decent angle.
