  1. http://www.goal.com/en/articolo.aspx?contenutoid=877996 Well well well
  2. This. But we don't want to give it a "Super Cup" feel, either, because that's even worse.
  3. I'm 17 and I recognized it.
  4. Yeah, I got a perfect picture on a Sopcast link... albeit with Italian commentary.
  5. That way we might be pleasantly surprised
  6. lol, as solutions to everything go, Scott Sinclair as our main goalscorer ranks somewhere around Senderos at the heart of AC's world-beating team's defence...
  7. I agree. He seems like a really nice bloke. I was so happy for him when he scored against Man Ure.
  8. Call him up to the first team... he's probably better than Anelka.
  9. lol, the Mirror published something saying this today... four days after we noticed. You read it here first, folks!
  10. I'd love to see Ronaldo here. His striking rate is phenomenal, but I reckon his injuries might be a bit much. Can we rely on Sahar and Pizarro? Sahar is completely unproven, and Pizarro, as good as he was at Munich, was pretty damn awful last season. ;)
  11. I was also concerned about Drogba himself. I have a haunting feeling his career is over... at least at this level. I think my pessimistic summary of our striking options might have been more accurate than I thought...
  12. Weelll... Cech - I guess the only person we can't fault here. He did what he needed to do when threatened. Bosingwa - Some shocking defending, had to be covered for repeatedly. He put in some awful long balls as well. Completely ineffective. Terry/ Alex - Alex was reasonably strong in places, and kept the ball in front of the half-way line for much of the game. Terry less good, but both made to look foolish at times by their attack. Bridge - Tried extremely hard, and some good work going forward in the second half, but ultimately toiled to nothing, especially in the first half. Mikel - Reasonable in the first half, but completely ineffective in the second half when he was scared of tackling their players as they just dived left, right and centre. Ballack - The crowd summed him up. Not impressed by his rant at the ref either. Lampard - Stifled creatively and resorted to rubbish long shots which were going nowhere. Sadly, he was probably our best midfielder... Kalou - Same as Lampard, but with some creative bursts. Messed up a few chances Drogba gave him. Malouda - Much better than the player we saw last season, but suffered in the same way as Kalou. Drogba - I have an awful feeling the player we saw last season is gone for good now after a good six months of solid injury (after his ligaments went during the game...) ---- Belletti - No idea where he was playing exactly, but showed flashes of brilliance in a large load of crap. Covered for Bosingwa a few times, but he's really no winger... Anelka - The less said the better. I saw him put in a couple of good passes, but for those two good passes there have been a myriad of pathetic ones. Di Santo - What did we expect? Not given enough time and with Anelka as a supplier...
  13. Did anyone else feel completely insecure with Bosingwa at right-back? He was alright going forward (apart from some shocking long-balls), but completely out-of-place defending. I lost count of the number of times Ballack or Alex ended up covering for him.

http://uk.eurosport.yahoo.com/01102008/58/...elsea-draw.html Is this going to be it for him? He was hardly back on top form after his previous injury, but with his knee ligaments messed up again, he's going to be out for a good while. Is he ever going to be the same? And what are we going to do without him?
  15. Well it became difficult in the second half, when they worked out that if they went down near Mikel they'd get a free kick...
  16. Bridge tried hard, but the only one I can't really fault is Cech.
  17. Haha, I had some Italian commentators who kept going "No no no no" whenever we got near their goal.
  18. What position was Belletti playing in exactly? :S He seemed to be everywhere.
  19. ¬___¬ I expect Scolari won't be best impressed with that.
  20. I actually started watching it after Hull went ahead. I wanted to witness the humiliation.
  21. Haha, I didn't really believe that, I just wanted to set myself up for the Euro 96 joke. It really wasn't worth it, mind...
  22. "I'm not afraid of dying..."
  23. Gutted on them not getting Venables, he would have been perfect. He's incredible at getting losers further than they should... we have Euro 96 as evidence.
  24. “He is a national disgrace,†Simmons told the News of the World. “I was so disgusted by what he did to me I felt physically sick." I heard you can get some pretty good odds on this guy being straight.
