I think they do it on a Sunday to make it seem like a bigger deal that what it really is. Saying that im not one of those who rubbishes it. If Chelsea play in it i want them to win and if they dont i get as annoyed as any other game. Its a great way to kick of the season.

Mikel has had 5/6 year to improve as a player and he hasnt improved enough. We just keep hoping that this will be the season that he will really up his game and each time we are left disappointed. He is just an adverage player and always will be. Would probably do an ok job for a team like Villa or Everton but imho we need someone better. Hopefully this kid from Barca will be the business!

My point was more about how Madrid go about getting deals done, this year their major deals were done straight after the season finished. It gave no time for other teams to log interest. It was a great way of doing busines.

Why arent we looking at the scouting of other teams like Madrid and Barca and doing what they do? I thought when Ancelotti came in we would find the next Pato or Kaka and bring them in. As usual we leave things to the last minute.

My point is who would we sell in January? Its not as easy as just selling a player, you have to have a buyer first then the player has to agree terms and also the player would most likely be cup tied by then so that may put people off. If you have a player and then put him in the reserves what is that going to do for his moral? The only thing i can think of that wouldnt be too bad is loan a player out but if the player had been playing coz essien was out then why shouldnt he keep his place?

Letting Kalou go but keeping Mikel,Anelka and Malouda makes no sense to me.

Yes i was a big fan of Aguero and was rather annoyed that we didnt get him. After summers of talk of him coming, its disappointing that he joins City.

I think Sneijder is a far better player but i dont think he would fit in with our system (where as i think Modric would) and his wage demands are crazy. I will be gutted if united buy him but im not too disappointed that we are not in the race for him.

I dont get with everyone saying dont register Essien till January. If we do that then in January we either have to try and sell someone or drop someone down to the reserves.

I have always thought that Pato is a little over rated myself. He is so hyped up but when ever i have seen him play (which i will admit isnt a massive amount of games) i havent been that impressed.
