  1. I just watched Kalou's break again. First reaction, clear penalty. Second reaction, think the ref made the right call. He was nudged, but he tripped over his own feet. Guess he got that one right. Having a DVR is great. Still don't like how we're getting the quick yellows but the home side isn't. Malouda and Ballack need to be careful or they'll be off at the slightest mistake in the second half. This is going to be a tense 45 minutes...
  2. How is that not a penalty for Kalou?!?!
  3. Things look a lot more lively now. Should be 2-0.
  4. Nice pass by Gerrard to Drogba for the score. Wait... what? :P
  5. Absolutely. OH Drogba on a mistake!!!! SCORE!!!
  6. I have to admit, I'm very nervous about this one like a lot of you... Is it Sunday yet?!?!?! Everything is still in our hands. Win, and it's one to go!! This week, I'll get nothing done at work. To be honest, I won't get anything done until the Prem and FA Cup matches are finished. Hehehe... Go Chelsea!
  7. I don't think ManU will drop any points. Like Cech said, they need to treat each of their last three games as if they were a Finals game. 3 wins and it's two trophies. C'mon Chelsea! :D
  8. Interesting odds there. I would have to say that I would put the Dutch as third favourites with Germany fourth followed by England and Argentina at 5th with the same odds. Italy would be next, then France. I'm really surprised to see the Dutch have that high of odds. It wouldn't surprise me at all if they won it...
  9. An amazing performance, just amazing! I could go into more, but I'd repeat what most of you have said already. Let's take the last two!!
  10. I certainly hope you're right. I'm nervous, but it's more of an anxious nervous. I just want the weekend to get here so I can watch! Go Chelsea!
  11. The Wigan result definitely made the weekend a little easier to bear. Let's hope we take care of business against Stoke. :P
  12. That's an interesting read, thanks for sharing.
  13. I went for Malouda, but it was just a great overall team effort. Bravo!
  14. Amazing game! By the end of the match I was practically knowing on my fingers. Luckilly for me, the rest of the family wasn't home. When the final whistle blew I jumped up, screamed, and got the dogs barking as well. My poor baby would have been crying for a while if she would have heard all that noise. Yeah, Drogba was offsides (how the linesman missed that I have no idea, but I'll take it). Macheda basically negated that goal with his handball goal. Cancel them out and we still win the match. We were the better side today, I don't think anyone can sensibly argue that. The Wolves were 1 MINUTE away from making today perfect. Still, hats off to them for playing well down a man. Go Chelsea! And now it's time to...
  15. That was a great comment. I laughed when I heard it. I think it's been a great first half so far. I'm expecting SAF to make some changes, but I'm confident that if we play the way we did in the first half, we'll come out with a good result. I think the officiating has been good as well. I do believe the shove on Anelka was a clear penalty, but I could also see that his view may have blocked. 45 to go... Go Blues!
  16. I agree on all fronts. I actually recorded the game (I had the whole "season" recorded expecting to see a different team in there at this stage...), I'm going to just check it out. I was able to listen to it real-time on the way home from work and I have to see the first 20 minutes or so. It sounded like Barca was ruthless but just couldn't find the back of the net.
  17. I can't wait to watch this match. And at the same time, I'm so nervous about it because this could really make or break the season. Bring on next weekend!
  18. I listened to the match on the radio in the car... Unbelievable! I wish I could have seen it, listening just didn't do it justice. The misses thought I was crazy as we were driving and I was screaming every time they scored.
  19. Lamps' celebration was hilarious. It definitely made me chuckle for a few minutes (even rewound it on the DVR just to see it again). This was a good win. The first half was rough but things seemed to open up after James' "swing and miss" of the ball. Malouda was outstanding. He gets my vote for MOTM. Let's hope for another 3 points from Villa and a strong push to the end of the season! :D
  20. I'd go with Ivan. His consistency puts him over the top. And it's even more impressive when he's been out of his natural position all year. Drogba, Ash, and Malouda have all been great this season. If Ash hadn't gotten hurt, I might have named him instead.
  21. I don't think Carlo will get the axe this year (as long as we don't slip out of the top 3). Nor do I want him to get the axe. If he goes, we really would be the laughing stock of football clubs everywhere. Do you really think any respected manager will come to Chelsea to take the reigns knowing the room for error is almost nil? I haven't put much thought into a replacement. And I don't really plan on starting until we see what happens. There is still some time left to win both the Prem and FA. That's what I'm thinking about.
  22. I heard that as well... It left me scratching my head. I'm really worried for Ivanovic. I hope he's ok.
  23. Arq replied to Alf's topic in General Chelsea FC
I also thought that once Ballack was pulled that our midfield just seemed to get dominated. I agree that Carlo had to do something, but I'd say it's far from the truth that Ballack was the worst player on the field last night. Like Westway said, Carlo might have just pulled the wrong player.
  24. Agree. And that's what makes this so tough to swallow. Give us even one of those penalty chances, does the outcome of the game change? Should we have played with more motivation? Absolutely. However, it's the refs job to call the game as precisely as possible and I don't think he did that tonight. Unfortunately once again, it was against us.
  25. Exactly... I'm so angry I could scream right now. The ref allows all kinds of fouls in the 1st half, then gets card happy in the second half. Two penalties were missed. Drogba sent off for what? Oh yeah... He was tackled AGAIN. The boys seem unmotivated, but really I can understand it. The ref allowed them to waste time, roll around, and it just tells me that this wasn't in the cards. Credit to Sneijder, he's darn good. It's back to focusing on the Premership. Maybe this is the wake up call that was needed. Hopefully the last wake up call... In a spot of good news, I find myself more comfy with Turnbull in net as our backup.
