I can't say this group of players, as there have been a fair few transfers in the last 4 seasons, but, many players in the current side, have battled their way to the semifinal and fallen short at the last moment. There have been ghost goals, red cards, disallowed goals, speculation, confusion, intense media scrutiny on the 'special one' and sometimes even the 'special few'; but this season, against all odds, in spite of having to recover from the unpopular departure of the majority's beloved coach, of having to work under an unknown name, of having to deal with training ground mishaps, family tragedies, a cup final loss and much, much more; this side has shown character, determination, endurance and togetherness and has reached its first European Final. Bravo! The management has been in question, even before Jose left. The management in the office has been criticized, does Kenyon know what he's doing? Does Roman have any clue about football? No he doesn't, he just sacked the greatest manager Chelsea ever had!! Does Avram know football? Better yet, who is Avram? Ten Cate? Why is Steve Clark in a training jersey when Ten Cate and Avram are in suits? Where has this new duo come from and why do we not have a recognized name? Yes he lost the plot against Spurs in the Final. Yes he lost away to United and Arsenal. Yes he lost all the big games, until United at home. But, he has shown patience, he has not let the pressure get to him, and, unbelievably he has guided this team to the Champions league Final, has kept this team in the running for the title (where an experienced big name manager in Wenger, with a super talented squad, saw his club tumble down the stairs) and let's not forget that we were in the Cup final. A player who breathes the blue color which paints the club. I wish it had stood Ballack was top class, he has really been that 'world class' player since his return from injury (and i mean 'world class' in its old school sense) Lampard was fantastic, he played a few killer passes, particularly one in the first half, well taken penalty, i'm sure this game and this season is for his Mom - RIP Pat Lampard Drogba to my delight didn't rumble and tumble - if that's down to pre-match comments from Rafa or down to the opportunity to play in a Final, I don't know - but it doesn't matter and he showed yesterday that he is an irreplaceable center forward Maka, despite his age ran and ran and ran some more and was fantastic I thought Anelka did well, didn't just come on to occupy the right flank, made the most of his appearance, showed initiative, created a goal ... underlined why him and Drogba should play together I was disappointed with Joey. Team looks ok. I hope Lampard is fit. I would have had him on the bench and started with Essien in MF and Paulo at RB - but, Paulo looked suspect last game and if Lampard is back, fit and ready to emotionally explode after recent personal events ... then perhaps its just to start him.

Who is more determined? Noticed something when Vidic got injured today Drogba took the ball on his chest, went to control it with his knee, jammed Vidic's face, began to pretend to be injured and fall down, half way into his act realized that Vidic might be seriously injured and in a second his facial expressions and body language changed. What ever makes you think that Malouda might have a good game (for once) ? He has been almost totally anonymous in games this year and rates very close to Sheva as a possible worst Chelsea buy. He came with a big CV and price tag and just has not delivered. Now Fernando Torres, big reputation, big price tag Oh f**k it we got Malouda instead !!!
