They say be aware, a warrior has the ability to rise from the dead and strike with vengeance. Through many sets of eyes, Chelsea looked dead with the departure of Jose, fracture to Terry, lack of goals, lack of form, red cards and the appointment of a certain Avram Grant, whom majority didn?t know and didn?t want to get to know. But the players are warriors, they come back from injury and start games, come out of operations, wear masks and forget about their cracks .. and most importantly rise from the speculative death and prove the world wrong. I could only watch the first half, but it was enough to show me that the team was playing with spirit. Im still not certain about Grant, but what I am certain about is that the players are back and are playing with spirit - Jose's departure is now put away in the past and the players will fight for everything. Congratulations to Avram for pulling off an away win, to Terry and the players for rising to the occasion and getting us back to top spot in the group.

If it isnt already, then I hope the game against Valencia makes it clear to Roman, Peter and the rest, that Grant is NOT the man for the job. Of course I hope we win the game - but given what we have seen so far of Avram and the fact that Valencia will be out for revenge - i highly doubt he can win the tactical battle. I guess its up to the players. Also .. apparently the players think his training methods are boring and not professional

Grant is pathetic. There was nothing tactical about his approach. Sheva should not start another game - he should be loaned out to wolves. IF Kenyon cannot see the situation clearly and doesnt ask Roman to bring in a big name manager in the next 48 hours - then he should be stripped naked and locked up in a prison cell. Drogba will be missed even more now Pathetic performance - i am furious. Time for Roman to step up and do what is needed - send Grant back to his country and bring in Hiddink or Capello.

Sadly, I think this is the end of Chelsea as a BIG POWER in football. Atleast untill a big name manager with a proven track record (capello etc) is brought in. I dont think Avram can cut it, based on what i hear in his voice - then again its not fair to judge until the man has a few games under him. But I fear that many of the players will leave, and given the shock departure of Jose - other players or even managers would be reluctant to risk it at Chelsea.

Inevitably there will be quite a few players that will depart either in Jan or perhaps at the end of the season. Players like Drogba, Carvalho and Ferreria come to mind as Jose's favorites and could well be on their way, either to him or to another club? Who do you think will leave? Who will come in? Also, is Avram a permanent appointment? Thoughts on a postcard ..

It will take a while, of course, to get over this mornings shock. I was left dumbfounded when I read that Jose isnt with us anymore. The man is a legend, he has transformed this club and brought out the best in many players. Like all managers, some of his signings were suspect. The way the team played this season wasn't great - but to not have him around anymore is very disheartening. The question now, is, what happens next? Does Clark/Grant takeover ? Do we get a new high profile manager ? Capello has stated he doesnt want England, Hiddink is with Russia. I think this can turn out to be a VERY difficult season for us and we might end up with nothing at the end of it.

If Chelsea fail to win the PL or the CL - Will Jose be allowed to stay on for another season?

Sadly, I too fear that we wont go far in the CL and probably wont have enough in us to win the PL. Jose WILL be sacked with Hiddink most likely to replace him. I hope im wrong - but i fear im not.

My thoughts exactlly ... Liverpool are the only team that look the business right now. Performance's get you the results, Villa's performace was superb and thats what did us. I dont understand why Malouda wasn't off instead of SWP for Cole. I hope Kalou and Cole are given more time on the pitch. What is going on with Shevchenko? Have we bought him so we pay his wages and he stays full fit and rested for Internationals? The next few games are going to be make or break - if we start losing ground now, its going to be a b*tch to climb back up.

Makes no sense. Why would we sell to Arsenal? Its obvious that Diarra has a very bright future, why lose a player of his potential and already proven ability to a domestic rival?
