octville
Sammy Lee rested Kevin Nolan, Gary Speed and Ricardo Gartner with Nicolas Anelka coming off the bench to score the 69th min winner for Bolton to beat Rabotnicki Kometal 1-0 to seal their UEFA Cup group stages. Bolton is undergoing a mini revival and hope to stetch their unbeaten run to six against Chelsea. Since our 0-2 loss to Manure, we have drew 0-0 against Blackburn, Fulham, won 4-0 against Hull and that fantastic 2-1 midwin away win at Valencia. We are unbeaten in 4 games and hela about time to kick some ass in the Premiership. We have to be watchful of the in-form Anelka ( who i think could have been better than Thierry Henry but lacked discipline) and El_Hadji Diouf is also playing well at the moment, despite not scoring. But i think a Carvalho-JT backline will soak up the pressure. We need to keep it tight and take them on breaks. My team line-up will be like this : Cech ; Belletti, Carvalho, Terry, Cole SWP, Makelele, Mikel, Joey Drogs, Pizarro Sub : Bridge, Cudicini, Malouda, Alex, Sidwell, Sheva We need to rotate a little bit. Bolton will be stretched if we play wide as there are very strong in the middle, especially if Ivan Campos play a sweeping role in midfield. Jaaskalainen is good all-round, but if we keep the ball low, we may just squeeze it past him. All said, i will take a win at any score. Let's get those 3 points and hope that the likes of Manure, Arses, Scousers slip up.
The Moos
Isn't Mikel and Drogba suspended?
ozboy
Drogba is suspended until the 7 October. The FA site says from non first team football, but I suppose it means from first team as well. Without Drogba we are back to Kalou. Personally I wouldn't play Sheva or Pizzaro again if I could help it . Kalou at least gets into goal scoring positions and works hard and has some skill. cech Belleti Riccy JT AC JC Essien/Maka Sidwell Malouda Kalou, Sinclair (by default)
Butch
Kalou at least gets into goal scoring positions and works hard and has some skill. Saying Kalou gets into goal scoring positions is like saying Gronkjaer gets into crossing positions. So what? Cheers, Butch

bjd
Kalou, Sinclair That the most lightweight forward line ive ever seen! Not a chance it will line up against Bolton (of all teams!) Pizarro will play. He was bought as a like for like replacement for Drogs (particualry with ACN in mind) so im sure he will play on Sat.
Chippy
Bolton are a tough side and will be up for this one, I'd go with Cech ; Belletti, Carvalho, Terry, Cole SWP, Makelele, Lampard/Essien, Malouda Cole, Pizarro Sub : Sheva, Cudicini, Kalou, Alex, Sidwell, Paulo Thats if Franks back in time. edit..I thought Essien pulled up a bit on wednesday night and maybe would be rested. g3.7
I think we play on sunday- only 2 (TWO!) saturday 3pm kick offs this weekend! not sure about lamps, have a feeling he won't play to be honest. in light of bridge's suspension, I've decided that instead of playingt cashley we should play a traffic cone at left back instead. here is a picture of a traffic cone (which looks remarkably similar to cash in an arsenal shirt) a flat (sort of) 442. we don't have great options for variations in midfield right now. ......................................................cech paulo......................carvalho.........................terry............... .....traffic cone ..........................................maka ...........................................................essien ...............joe.............................................................. ...malouda ..................................sheva.....................drogba bench: carlo alex kalou sidwell pizarro
midlandblue
Soccer Saturday will be a bit flat this week. Not sure your idea about how the cone will work with Malouda playing in front, Malouda like to rely on the full back backing up his runs along the wing and I fell the cone may just lack a yard or two of pace to keep up with Malouda. Agree about Lamps though. oh and isn't Drogba suspended?

BLUENUT
fine, a cone on a skateboard. Has more chance of scoring than Sheva - and quicker I reckon

Kornblume
In another part of the forum it is said that Lampard might well be back, which is very good news. The 4-2-3-1 worked well in Valencia (after a slow start yes) so I'd go with that again. g3.7
I'm happy as long as we've established that the traffic cone is ahead of cash in the pecking order.
The Moos
It's kinda weird really. At last we have no problems with injuries but instead we end up with several players suspended. Mikel, Drogba and Bridge. Annoying as hell. My team for the weekend is: Cech Belletti - Riccy - JT - Cole Cole - Maka - Essien - Malouda Pizza - Kalou

BlueBosnian
I'd like to see Pizzaro and Shevchenko both start the match up front, with two wingers, maybe Joe and Malouda.
Liam
Here's my tribute to Traffic Cone for The Shed End Pages. It rhymes. O Traffic Cone, Traffic Cone, Traffic Cone, In defence you can play in the zone, Up front you can play all alone, I love you Traffic Cone
