  1. Excerpts from Wiki synopsis of "Revolution Road": April did not make it because she bled out too much even before the ambulance got to her. Frank runs down the street Frank moved back into the city with the kids I didn't see it either, now I don't think I want to.
  2. I watch Arse alot and their best attribute is possession up front for chances. Fabr, Arsh, Denil, Eduar, Nasri. There not big, but they're crafty. We need Deco and Ballack to stay back and come up big defensively. Maybe start Alex in midfield ahead of Deco (or sub for Ballack if he's slow, again). ManUre held their scoring down at Emirates, now we must do the same at the Bridge. This is the biggest match of the season for the Gooners, so let's all bring the same intensity shown by Ivanovic and we'll wreck their dreams. The game comes on Super Bowl Sunday, but I'm not thinking of Saints/Colts. I'm all Blue...
  3. Thought some of you might find this interesting... http://www.newsobserver.com/sports/story/317707.html
  4. I like him because you can start him anywhere on the pitch.
  5. "When Arse shows up at the Bridge, all Hell will break loose on them and we will be covered with glory and sexual energy. We won't remember today, and the natural balance will be restored!" I read a medical study once demonstrating that watching your favorite team do something great generated a similar physical response to watching erotica, and watching your team fail created the same revulsion as watching wild animals kill one another. I found that very funny at the time. I suppose the answer to your question is that when we beat L'Arse on Sunday, my lady might find her back line challenged.
  6. That was unfortunate, but I'm glad no one's hurt. When Arse shows up at the Bridge, all Hell will break loose on them and we will be covered with glory and sexual energy. We won't remember today, and the natural balance will be restored! And - Way to go Stride! If the rocket is an idiot, then you are the opposite, which must feel nice.
  7. Cech Ivan, Carvalho, Alex, ACole Ballack, Lamps, Deco, Malouda Drogba, Anelka Sub: Zhirkov, JCole, Sturridge 4-1 win
  8. We have lots of guys who I think should play more, DS, Zhirkov, Alex to name a few. With DD and Essien returning at some point, seems to me we're loaded for bear and have all we need to take this thing. Go Blue!
  9. Can't say I know England's practice schedule, but they will be preparing at some point. June 12 will not be the first time they get together, is my point. And thanks to those who introduced me to the term "bin-dipping". Hilarious! I've heard it as dumpster-diving, but I like yours better.
  10. Many have built their argument around Bridge being an EX-teammate. EthicalStrategy: "He didn't shag his team mates bird. He shagged his ex team mates ex bird. A subtle but important difference." Would you call someone an ex-teammate who is about to put on the same kit and work the same defense, preparing for the WC? They might practice today for all I know. That's not subtle ES, and not "absolute sh*te" either. This will be my finale on the matter, unless someone else takes a shot at me.
  11. Many have built their argument around WB being JT's ex-teammate. Would you call someone an ex-teammate who is about to put on the same kit and work the same defense, preparing for the WC? They might practice today for all I know.
  12. Again, I never said he should be fired. I believe he'll hold onto his job. But no one will convince me he hasn't screwed his captaincy.
  13. If I did something in my private like that brought public embarassment to my firm, I'd be unemployed soon afterward. That's one of the disadvantages of being an employee. Do you realize that most pro athletes have a morals clause in their contracts? I didn't write those, Paulo. Part of JT's job is to represent his team publicly. That's not my opinion, it's in writing to protect employers from wrongful termination claims. Never suggested JT would be sacked, I was only talking about captaincy. Tell me Paulo you believe he will captain England in the WC. Oh, and I wish this weren't happening. :D
  14. Lady Diehard, I must respectfully disagree. In team sports, chemistry is always desirable and often credited (or blamed) for results. It may be good or bad chemistry, and mostly can't be controlled. England's WC leadership knows full well that a poor result would be traced in part to JT and this mess, "unnecessary distraction, media glare", etc. For that reason, I predict that JT will not enjoy captaincy in SA, and may not make the trip. Nor does he deserve to. He Tigered his way into this mess, and now he's going to hear about it everywhere he plays, and so will all of his teammates. Do you suppose Drogba will enjoy fielding questions about JT's love life? Since I'm American, many will think I'm biased. I truly hope this somehow blows past and he gets on with his great career. Mostly, please let it not interfere with our march to claim the Premiership.
  15. "Nice goal to win, but too bad JT couldn't keep a clean sheet." "JT f*cked Burnley good and proper!" Good one, BlueBeard! JT plays the field like a Tiger in the Woods.
  16. Anything but Morrissey
  17. Nice goal to win, but too bad JT couldn't keep a clean sheet.
  18. Rock hard until you're tired, then roll. 8 hrs til gametime
  19. I had a guy on my (American) football team, who other players told me to keep away from my girlfriend. I was okay with him and figured that if my girl ran off with him, she was doing me a favor by showing her colors. But this guy was not a captain.
  20. Great stuff - Dylan, Van the Man, Neil Young. Joni too if I recall... Maybe we can get Joni to play your at your party
  21. I would say a Woodstock DVD would make a nice b'day gift for you, Lauren. Or Monterrey.
  22. I'd argue that "Year One" and "Norbit" didn't belong. Where are the Stallone, Norris and Seagal movies? I'd include Pink Panther (S. Martin) also. My #1 is still "Mississippi Burning". Had good actors, directed by Sir Alan Parker and well received but... The premise is that a minority population in the deep South beset by bigotry and violence can overcome. Through more violence. The FBI agents organized night raids of their own, using local black folks to do the dirty work. The racist white folks wised up and decided to respect and get along with them. The final scene featured black and white holding hands and singing together on a hilltop. Worst SCENE ever! I left the theater outraged. It could have been escapist, but this film had just enough historic accuracy to make some think this actually happened. That I can successfully defeat prejudice with violence. I'm from the deep South, and this film must be like MLK's worst nightmare.
  23. OK I feel better now. Please note the tail South Park is a great example of Cult TV. Not for everyone, but a devoted following.
