  1. Someone should prevent Kalou's mom from voting for him after each match.
  2. Malouda for me. It look likes Anelka lost his mojo and it went into Florent. His touch while handling is magical, and he was better than Zhirkov or Turnbull (my runners-up). But Malouda had the same deficiency as the whole offense. No crossing passes to DD or NA. All dribble and give aways. Kalou at least tried to fix that. I'm not as bummed out as usual, because I'd rather have a PL title than 3 CLs. It was good to see the fight and animosity that the game was played with, instead of bowing out nicely. Congrats to Jose, but not to his collection of idiots. And I'm starting to wonder about Carlo...
  3. Watched the replays, and 1.) DD's back was crashed into by T.Motta in the box, who then wrapped around and fell off Drogs to the ground like a kid and got his left foot stepped on. Should have been a PK. 2.) Alex ran into Stankovic's back knocking him to the ground. He got up and retaliated with a similar shot. The ref seemed to miss the whole thing. Should have been a penalty on Alex and a card for Stanko.
  4. Let's hope for some disciplinary action to follow. That was quite a clubbing he gave Michael Brown!

That was a good post Barry, this can't be answered yet. Nice link, too. Foulke is a fascinating story, and shows you don't have to last to be legendary. Or be lean. I see his liver gave out before his heart. It's better to burn out than fade away...
  6. This looks like a beheading, but I'm pulling for a shocking draw 1-1!
  7. Yeah, BB I've been saying that for years! Most folks in my region couldn't name another Euro footballer besides Beckham, and I tell them he's a one-trick player and media produced brand. Don't think this will hurt the English side June 12th. That said, I wouldn't wish this injury on anyone. Maybe his teammate GG. And Maksimov, still can't see him playing in a match for the better part of a year. He won't even be walking right 5 months from now.
  8. I enjoyed this one recently, filmed in 2000
  9. That's not good - I can't think of a worse injury for a footballer. And at 35, you wonder if a year of rehabilitation is worth the late-in-life comeback.
  10. You can pass on Cruise and go straight for the Pitt (in the film). I enjoyed the small black Egyptian vampire antecedents from The Vampire Lestat.
  11. Go with the novel, and Lestat too...
  12. No respect for Azzurri or Les Bleus, recent champs...
  13. DailyStar - Wayne Bridge yesterday made his feelings very clear about ex-England team-mate John Terry's secret fling with his ex... by plastering them across a T-shirt! Humiliated footballer Wayne Bridge and fellow Manchester City stars including Micah Richards, 21, and Shaun Wright-Phillips, 28 had special Team Bridge shirts printed on their lads trip to Miami. And across the back Bridge, 29, revealed his true feelings about Terry's affair with his ex-French model girlfriend Vanessa Perroncel, 33, who is the mother of his child In bold letters the international left back plastered the slogan "F**K JT & V". He and his pals handed out several of the printed shirts to photographers on their booze 'n babes break in the US sunshine state. One pal said: "Wayne's not reacted at all, except to snub Terry's handshake. His way of dealing with the whole affair is with a bit of humour." I'm still boycotting comment on this subject, but I would ask how does a writer call VP ex-French?
  14. Alena Seredova blocks a shot from the media
  15. From "The Pink Panther Strikes Again" - I watched it Sunday as well. I saw it theatrically with my Granny in 1976, and the "dog bite" scene had everyone in tears. My favorite part was his parallel bars dismount right into the living room interrogation. Classic! Inglourious Basterds was incredible - "One of these days this war will be over, and you're gonna take that uniform off". Love Tarantino movies, esp Pulp Fiction.
  16. More like blow-'em-up. This film was a humanist statement, and longed for peace. Now I want to see Avatar again, but in 4D at an IMAX theater after chasing the dragon....
  17. My opinion is that Alex is superior, but Riccy must practice better. RC is either preferred by Terry & Cech in the d-unit, or by management.
  18. We're dicked here in my town. TG for the webcast...
  19. Glad it worked out...
  20. I would like to say in hindisight that I only meant by that photo to offend the people of the US state of Georgia, not the eastern European country.
  21. Since this a match thread, I'll go out on a limb. HH BI/RC/JT/FM MB/JC/MO/FL DD/NA Sub DS/Bruma 4-0 Go Chelsea!
  22. Welcome, Bridgeman!
  23. So Moi, no apology for the "other" Georgia?
