  1. Now I find that the French side Sochaux wrote the US Federation saying Charlie Davies wasn't fit, and thus he wasn't called up for the national team. And they did so without his knowledge. That's just not right - he was rehabbing and training for the World Cup, and believed himself to be ready.
  2. I dont understand what "easy 1.6" means, but I think Tommy Lee is the avatar. David James or Joe Hart, hmmm. Hard to forget that misplay James had in our last match with Pompey, maybe he should have replaced that divot. Also, Defoe makes alot of sense starting up front. I forgot about DeMerit, you might be correct on that one BigIzz. Eddie Johnson up front is purely sentimental (he's from my old neighborhood), and it's probably just wishful thinking. He'll be a nice substitute, though. Cooper and Davies didn't make the squad, so there goes 2/3 of my subs. I see both our squads advancing into the :D phase, England vs Germany and USA vs Serbia. Sorry Bison and all you Aussies, you're in a tough group! Hope to see some more predictions from the Shed End stalwarts, especially member #3.
  3. Thanks Gem for your efforts, all that eye-candy in a sea of Blue.
  4. Here' a more flattering picture of Philly's finest, and Dude showing some cutback ability. Police are Philly are known to use Tasers more often than necessary...
  5. I don't want to quarrel, Bluewilky, as you are posting from my ancestral homeland, and we both have a fresh championship! But in the picture and caption they seem to have it correct, they just put this onto the wrong page, likely because of the Wigan tie-in. And at least they spelled Martinez correctly, which is more than you did. "Manchester City manager Roberto Mancini (L) and Wigan Athletic's Spanish manager Roberto Martinez watch during their English Premier League football match at the City of Manchester Stadium in Manchester, north-west England, on March 29, 2010" Never thought I'd be supporting American media here, but you're trashing them for a minor error, with no factual mistakes, and generalizing the entire US. Read a tabloid and leave ABC alone!
  6. Well done, Butch and congrats to Tim W. That was fun!
  7. Had to go with the big guy up front. What I really wanted to see came alive in the 2nd half!! :)
  8. We get Trojan viri frequently, and Malwarebyte has worked everytime. It's not a firewall - but a free, standalone detector/remover.
  9. Now you know that Rheumatoid medicine can double as stain remover...
  10. I haven't put in a respectable day's work since the day after the Stoke City match, 2 weeks ago. This run-in has got me twisted sideways, but I expect Monday to be fine.
  11. Neither could Dubya! Seriously, Sarah screwed herself by leaving her post as Governor to do .... TV? It's a bit unforgivable unless the reason is to move to a higher post. The Republicans think they are going to clean up in November midterms because of history, but the truth is that they are going to get clobbered by liberals. Young people, minorities and women are a lost demographic to these bloated Corporatists. Good luck on the back bench. Congrats to our star in front, and Time for having good sense. And my throwball team won 47-21 tonight.
  12. Should throw in Little Richard's band too. He had Jimi Hendrix backing him up for a time.
  13. Barn, I've thought about it for 2 weeks, and decided that we can probably multi-task. This is the most exciting World Cup group matches I've ever anticipated. And only about a month away! I see that England is ranked third, and USA about 14th, by bookmakers. FIFA has them 7th and 16th, respectively. FIFA's sounds right, but I always respect the bookies.
  14. SD, you've bested me by mere minutes,,,
  15. The Delaware Destroyers (Thorogood) and Double Trouble (Stevie Ray Vaughn) come to mind. Completely subjective, but I'd say it's the lead musician with the best star-power supporting him or her. Therefore, to me The Band (Dylan) with Danko, Robertson and Helm. Bunch of Canadians. Lauren, how about the Miami Sound Machine (Gloria Estefan)?
  16. Rat indeed, ask this lady (or Jenny McCarthy) http://movies.msn.com/the-wrap/steve-seaga...tory/?GT1=28101 Seems off-topic...
  17. Nice one. Can't top that, but Shoots against an inexperienced defense...
