loz
Take your pick - pretty hard to differentiate between one average performance and another.
Alex
I know its not the point.....but i would like to vote for sneijder. Really impressed me with his passing on both feet and awareness. Well played Sir!
Ruh Buh Juh
Malouda, the only player that played averagely.
kalpitv
Malouda, Mikel and Zhirkov did okay today. But I am voting for none. None of them were MOTM standard performances.

The Machine
I am not going to vote for any player on that list. They were all shambolic.
The Moos
Since I was really harsh with Turnbull after our last game (and perhaps I was wrong in my criticism) I will give my vote to him tonight. I don't think he could have done much on the goal (Cech might have saved it, but even that is doubtful) and he didn't do anything wrong. Came out and claimed the ball well a few times. I would like to see his command in the air cloned to Cech, then we would have a brilliant keeper
sweet waffle
Malouda gets my vote although he did fade in the second half. Worst player was Lampard, totally anonymous, especially when compared to Sneijder. Edited March 16, 2010 by sweet waffle
Virosh
Malouda for me. Mentions for Zhirkov, who didn't put a foot wrong, and Turnbull, who is miles better than Hilario. The rest were decidedly average, under the weather or plain awful.

Gilvorak
Anelka was easily our worst player today. Hope we get rid of him in the summer along with Ballack & a few others, too many passengers in the team. No doubt Carlo will start start them in our next match anyway. ThunderDan
Malouda for me. It look likes Anelka lost his mojo and it went into Florent. His touch while handling is magical, and he was better than Zhirkov or Turnbull (my runners-up). But Malouda had the same deficiency as the whole offense. No crossing passes to DD or NA. All dribble and give aways. Kalou at least tried to fix that. I'm not as bummed out as usual, because I'd rather have a PL title than 3 CLs. It was good to see the fight and animosity that the game was played with, instead of bowing out nicely. Congrats to Jose, but not to his collection of idiots. And I'm starting to wonder about Carlo... Edited March 16, 2010 by ThunderDan
Gilvorak
Mentions for Zhirkov, Zhirkov was one of the worst players on the pitch, his positioning was woeful & none of his crosses reached the 18 yard box ffs! Turnbull MoTM.

Lampard was poor, of that there is no doubt. However I don't think comparisons with Sneijder are all that relevant as Lamps never has been, and never will be, the sort of player Sneijder is. We desperatlelt need a player in the Sneijder mould and I hope this is something we are targetting in the summer. He is a player who, time and time again, can be the key influence on a game, who can see gaps without having to take two touches to control the ball and then having a look to see where his team mates are, and who can panics a centre half pairing because they are worried about the accuracy of his passing. We are crying out for a player like that.

Dont get me wrong i agree with you there are too many people not contributing who are regularly in the team but then who would you bring in? You can say Matic, Kakuta etc etc etc, but are you seriously suggesting that you fill a team for a premier league game with those players. We dont have the strength in depth. You do know that was Lampard's role in the team last season right? He's been average this season no doubt but are you seriously suggesting he can't pick out a pass. Lampard & Sneijder are very similar players. We need an Iniesta, Messi type of player in the team. Kakuta is the best bet for that role.

icecoolguy22
Malouda was the only real threat we had all night. Zhirkov did ok, Gk was not bad. It's about time we send him on a 2 weeks holiday somewhere, he's going to the wrong place and making wrong decision just about every time. Ballack was pretty ordinary, but we looked a lot worse without him. Lampard is not the player he was 1-2 years ago, he's not making those runs in the midfield, and he is constantly a yard or two short in position when the opportunity arrives (e.g. the chance just before halftime). Chippy
I'd vote for Malouda for a decent first half and because he was the player I wanted to see with the ball..Anelka was the player I dreaded picking the ball up. Zhirkov I thought done well, he lost his position on occasions but belted back at pace and got us out of trouble a few times very well. our midfield was a bit outplayed and moreso when Ballack (who was as bad as the rest) went off, he at least was in the way and made the inter players watch him.. Turnbull looked confident in such a big game and his positioning, Kicks and the way he had a go at experienced defenders made me think his future might be better than I feared.
