At last, I'm enjoying watching Chelsea again. So early in the season and yet Alonso has got us playing some lovely football.

to be fair - I have been pretty happy since he left to Bayern. As I argued back then, he had already left and wouldn't be back. We had already endured 2 seasons worth of hapless performances, and clearly the club had already decided he wasn't good enough - to the extent that they tried to sell him. He was never coming back as he was never good enough to play for chelsea.
But of course - some on here were grasping at straws... " it's just a loan to munich, he is better than delap, he will come back as number 2 to pedro, he will come back as a left winger" ... but they failed to read the room. A club who had already decided to sell is rarely (if ever) going to reverse that decision. Particularly with player so inept.
So yeah - i'm glad this is being formalised - but in truth he left in mind and spirit after that red card against newcastle.

Spot on. Totally agree, and it's not like he even played well today against a rubbish Milan defence.
Everyone knows we need to recoup money and reduce the size of the squad between now and the end of the transfer window. We tried to get £50 to 60 million for him last year and there were no takers whatsoever. He didn't pull up any trees on loan at Bayern, (who never wanted to make a permanent deal), or in the World Cup. £30 to 40 million would be a fantastic sale for us.
He needs to go, Delap needs to go, Gusto needs to go and, personally, I would let both Enzo and Neto go if we get the right offers.

This would be perfect. Get rid of the useless f**ker and to our bitter rivals and then watch with glee as he does his usual stuff and Spurs supporters realise we've mugged then right off.

We don't just have a choice of 4 though. You are the one limiting to those players for some strange reason.
For the avoidance of doubt, I would choose all 4 of them over Jackson. I would also choose any other youth player we have over Jackson.
I would prefer to give a bench spot to someone who might at some stage prove good enough to play for chelsea, rather than give it to a player who has ALREADY proven, over 2 seasons playing consistently, that he is not good enough.
