Mason Mount
I really rated Mount when Frank brought him into the team. He had been decent in the academy side, winning FA Youth Cups and at Derby in the Championship and started well in our First Team. I personally got caught up in the "he's proper Chels" furore probably all the pics of him with Reece as kids in their Chelsea kits had an effect. His first full season at Chelsea was excellent, the second less so, and since then his performances have been average at best. He is good but NEVER a great. Being "proper Chels" does not entitle him to the same sort of terms as Reece, Enzo etc. United turned his (and/or his Father's) head, but none of the big European Clubs or City, Arsenal, Liverpool have even looked at him, so I believe that the £60m we will end up with is a great result and should be celebrated.

Kalidou Koulibaly
Are we definitely bringing Colwill back in to the First Team Squad Bob ??
-
Kalidou Koulibaly
Thanks to KK for doing the decent thing !! I too am a bit concerned by exposure at Centre Back. I pray Wes Fofana stays fit, but this is by no means a given, Badiashille is very good but inexperienced, Silva is a legend but 38, and Chalobah is attracting rumours and interest of an exit. I think we may need one more PROVEN CB before pre-season.

Mateo Kovačić
He won't even play 50 games for City in TWO seasons.

Mason Mount
Ask yourself the question; If Mason Mount was NOT a Chelsea player and was at Liverpool, United, Arsenal or Brighton 😉 and we were being linked with him for £65m, would you want us to conclude the signing????? I bloody wouldn't. We should take the money and let the boy and the REAL SNAKES, his father & agent f**k off into the sunset.

2023/24 Squad
Very fair point, but I think Cucurella was easily the worst of a very bad bunch

2023/24 Squad
I would be very close to this selection, but think we do need a new Keeper, who can command at the back. Onana would be my choice but it doesn't sound as though Chelsea is on his radar. So possibly Martinez from Villa ?? We still desperately need the Midfield Leader/Enforcer, so I pray we can sign Caicedo and keep Mount (how about we offer him the £220k per week and the Captain's armband ?? and finally a Decent finisher. I know nothing about Jackson and would personally go for someone like Mitrovic who I believe can do the job, or Osimhen who is a super player. Finally, I think Gallagher is almost gone, so would replace him with Casadei who has been doing great things (apart from the Final) in the U20 World Cup

2023/24 Squad
If Pochettino watched many of last seasons's games back on video, he will already have instructed the Club to get rid of Cucurella. He is a car crash of a signing, whose value has slipped to circa £35 million. If anybody actually offers that, I would rip their arm off !!

New Shirt Sponsors
It looks as though the Club, are just taking as much money as possible in the short term, in the hope that when the 1 year deal expires next year, we will be back in the Champions League and able to command the higher Advertising revenues. I hope this is not overly optimistic 🙄

New Shirt Sponsors
Excellent point !!

New Shirt Sponsors
I hadn't heard about the Paramount deal until this morning. I thought it was going to be (tight-fisted) Allianz. I can't honestly see why the FA consider Paramount to be true competitors of Sky Sports or TNT (BT) sounds like yet more anti-Chelsea rhetoric to me 🙄

Kai Havertz
I do really like Havertz and was very much in the "keep him" camp, BUT at £60million + it is a no brainer that we must take the money. Forgetting FFP, for two years now Kai has basically failed to deliver (much) and we really do need an out and out goalscorer, not a false number 9. I believe we will buy one, and with a hopefully returning fit Broja and Nkunku who will play in the "hole" we will be a lot better off. I dont think Havertz will do much at Arsenal, for the life of me I can't see where they fit him in, but if he was to go to either Germany or Spain, he could be successful in a good side but an inferior League.

New Shirt Sponsors
Clearly the Club has gone for the highest bidder in a vain attempt to replace the Champions League income. In reality it shows just how far the Club has fallen in the pecking order, when no Blue Chip, or Global brands wishes to sponsor our shirts. Can't blame them really, very little exposure for them. I also expect Sky to drop us down the Saturday and Sunday games listings unless we are playing one of the Big 4 !! I am somewhat ashamed that the Club has chosen a bookmaker, when gambling addiction is a fast growing disease for young men in this and other Countries. Boehly and by definition, Clearlake are making a mess of just about everything that they touch at present, surely Clearlake has a really top level exec on its Board that would be a far safer pair of hands for Chelsea ????

Moises Caicedo to Chelsea! "Official"
I agree mate, but we (the Owners) have done this to ourselves. Good players want to leave because we no longer offer the big Champions League nights, prestige, bonuses etc and new players are refusing to join us for the same reason. I think that we honestly have to consider ourselves lucky not to have been relegated, as that would have been a whole lot worse, We will keep some very good players in James, Silva, Chilwell, Mudryk and must use them as a sound foundation to rebuild. I am optimistic that Pochettino is the right man to bring in and play regularly, players like Slonina, Casadei, Chukwuemeka, Colvill, Madueke Santos etc. and this could be exciting to watch and save us a fortune

Declan Rice to Chelsea?
I think the Club, has probably the same reservations as most of us about Rice, due to the £100m + price tag that West Ham are determined to get. I think both Arsenal and Chelsea see him at around the £80m mark and the car crash negotiations with Mount's father/team will not have helped either.

So Lukaku is a bit of a Bawbag...
Haaland has now gone 5 or 6 games without a goal, Barren spell incoming ?? 😉 PS I didn't think City were much cop at all.
-
So Lukaku is a bit of a Bawbag...
Now this is a GREAT idea. With the Saudis paying billions for sundry "has beens and past its" (N'golo exempted) then Lukaku is tailor made for them.
-
So Lukaku is a bit of a Bawbag...
What in his remaining THREE YEARS of contract ?????
-
So Lukaku is a bit of a Bawbag...
That is because the alternative is coming back to Chelsea, where, if he has read threads like this, he will now know that he has been found out and is hated across the board. He is bang out of options.

Who needs to go and who needs to stay?
Many thanks 👍

Who needs to go and who needs to stay?
I've been reading so much about the state of the Club's finances, FFP compliance, need to sell players, need to buy Brits etc etc, but what is the real truth? Does anyone know the actual true position? The Club's recruitment team obviously do, but there seems to be no articles in the MSM that confirm what our tactics will be in this window. Can anyone point me in the direction of something factual ???

Mason Mount
For avoidance of doubt, I would much rather Mount, after a sit down and long chat with Pochettino, decided to stay at Chelsea and went on to be the Captain and legend that many of us believed he would, but if he chooses to join United, as they (temporarily) are on the up, then good riddance. Players at Chelsea become legends over a career or a lifetime, NOT over 2 or 3 seasons.
-
Mason Mount
Doesn't mean that the NEW agent is not taking instructions from Mount's father !!
-
Mason Mount
I have thought for some time, that his father (Agent) has a rather over inflated view of his worth. I have no doubt Chelsea offered him a very good deal but his father wasn't happy. I have a horrible feeling Mason is being controlled in this decision. He could have had a decent rise in pay and stayed to become a Captain and a Chelsea legend, but he (or his Dad) has CHOSEN to leave and go elsewhere, lets get this straight, he is NOT being forced out, by the Club, Todd, Pochettino or anybody else, it is his choice. So, If he goes to United he becomes the "oppo" and I gain an instant dislike for him 😉

Welcome home Super Frank
Me too. I can still remember the dark days of 74-89, when we were like a yo-yo, but at least in those days, we knew and accepted we were sh*t. We had a shocking squad, desperately poor Managers (John Neal exempted) no money, a crumbling ground and no prospect of any of it changing. But change it did. The current squad has cost millions, as has the succession of Managers/Coaches, 2 years ago, we were European and World Champions and now look at us. The collapse of the Club is remarkable. I blame 1. The New owners who haven't got a clue, 2. The Players, who to a man, do not seem remotely interested and 3. Graham Potter & Frank Lampard for accepting a job that they must have known was completely outside their very limited skillsets.
