They'll be on a lot this year in the States... FSC, FSC+, and ESPN will air them pretty much every week due to winning the CL! I don't get FSC+ on Comcast here in Denver but am looking to switch to DirecTV for that this season... A few years back I paid for Setanta and got everything (including internet viewing while I was at work for the Midwest matches) but not sure where Setanta lies anymore... Back then I'd get La Liga, Everdise, and FSC did Prem and Serie A but truthfully it was too much! I would spend a lot if my time watching football inside and not getting up to ski on the weekends. That was back in 03-06 so it may have changed now...

...and the Premiership is a much quicker paced game too... Can't see him covering the guys on Utd, Arse, and City... For me he's past his prime and we have no use for a player like that. Not anymore... Crazy about Russia, they were my sleeper to win it all, especially after the Czech match. Now I think it is safe to say they were never really that good but the Czech squad just made too many mistakes. So be it, now those Russian hooligans can go back home! Hopefully the Polish ones stay far and away too. I hope we don't see a rash of idiots in the news now that they too are out...

May not have the proven pitch time but they're both still young and could be a Maicon by the time they are 26+ Probably his agent looking to restructure a deal to cash out, since he is near the end of his career. Is this really a thread Mods? I thought having to read all the back and forth on the Hulk rumor page was enough but I guess now we have to have one on why he shouldn't be signed? As if we didn't hear every single opinion on why he should or shouldn't be signed in the first place? I guess somebody owns some stock in whoever is feeding us bandwidth... If I was on my computer which I am almost never (in direct result of having to work on the internet all day at my job) I would give you one of those clapping fonts. Since I am not, I applaud what you have said... While that does leave some questions, if I am Roman I would hire you in a Mario minute (for us kids who grew up in the 80's)! It makes a whole lot of sense but are we really going to spend for Hulk and a caliber player like Modric as well? I sure hope so and think most on these boards would but that's a lot of cheddar! Not familiar with him but I will look into him... I think we both agree that the right should not be a major priority and we should look upon that position Sneijder and/or Modric would hold... My point is if we are going to offer Modric 40M, maybe Sneijder at a lesser price due to age (like you said) would be a better option? We may be able to pay less due to that age difference and then can have Josh/Piazon step in a few years from now. Like I said, that position (for me and I think from what I am hearing from you) is more vital especially with the opportunity United may have to sign Modric. Like Spiller said, it would make United quite strong. Much rather see Scholes (who I will admit love) play thee with nothing really behind him than see them grab Modric, IF the rumors is true! I am only speaking on this rumor of Modric to United for 25M, which I highly doubt is the price....

Yeah, for United! I hear you but everytime I see him play he just is so impressive! Just look at yesterday (Saturday)... Those balls he put on the boot of RVP and Huntelaar were quite impressive. You get what you pay for and I know you are not sold on the money Hulk is commanding... Sneijder to groom Josh/Piazon for the next three seasons would do us wonders...

That figure is ridiculous and even if that c*nt Levy would sell him to United less than what we offered, he should be tar and feathered and ran out of the sport altogether. Well, he deserves that anyway so let's throw in quartering the man as well. It would be completely detrimental to Spurs if he pulled that. If we can't get Modric, then let's look at Sneijder! He will command a lot but honestly I would much rather have Sneijder than Hulk! Sneijder will fill a void we desperately need and if he and Lampard could switch off (because let's face it, we have a lot of matches next year) and put a Ramires/Marin on the right with Mata/Hazard interchanging, we would be much stronger than adding Hulk. With that said, I am assuming Torres and Sturridge will be able to put 15+ each with the service they are going to get! I think a Modric/Sneijder signing is far more important than a Hulk on the right or a striker... We could grab that Russian kid who could also come in. Apologies on his name and I know there is a thread, just too lazy to look it up on my phone. Even Mueller, if that rumor holds any water would be better. But I honestly think if a Rami/Marin on the right with Mata/Hazard center/left, and a Modric/Sneijder, will do wonders... If United sign Modric, we need to counter with signing a player that can match that. I love Lampard, obviously from my avatar... However, he cannot be relied on for an entire season and I think Super Frank would say the same thing. The young guys are not there yet, imo. Piazon would probably be better than Josh but imo neither of them could be relied on there week in and week out... We need a Modric/Sneijder before we need a Hulk and I sure hope Chelsea scouts are looking to counter if this rumor is true... Which I think is but not at that price...

^ Agreed! If he goes to United they will finally have their guy who can get the ball up to Kagawa and Rooney, through the middle and not have to rely on playing so wide... Whatever the formation is having Welbeck, Rooney, Kagawa, Young, Valencia/Nani, and Modric all on the same pitch is quite scary! Just as good as Chelsea w/Hulk on the right, imo...

I would like Sturridge to stay but there comes a time when the club will have to ask itself; Does his talents exceed his piss poor attitude and selfishness? I sure hope it does but the idea of him simply being an overrated English player is beginning to enter the back of my mind. Perhaps he is not the player we thought and will be one of those great players for a mid table club. For me, jury is still out and he needs to remain and play his natural position this season. If we are having this conversation next year, then The Scouse can have him... Next May when they're once again in the bottom half of the top ten and Suarez will be off for greener pastures. Then we could ship Danny to them for the 15M! Hopefully, it never gets to this and the way things dramatically changed this year, Torres could be the one shipped...

You mean they're not the same? Khedira played a good match and for me was the only brightspot for zee Germans. I agree with the person who mentioned Bastian and Podolski not showing up today. Podalski was horrendous! Hope to see more of that subpar play this coming season at the Emirates!

A nick? The ball changed its path completely! I don't think Mueller did anything special tonight but who on the German squad did? Mueller had a few decent crosses but his play was certainly subpar, as was everyone's. I wouldn't mind Mueller but he is a different type of player than Hulk. I know he had a low scoring season, think he netted less than ten all year for Bayern but its a different league in Germany compared to Portugal. Hulk, unlike Mueller would give us depth at two positions but is that diversity worth the price tag? I honestly couldn't answer that since I am not a professional scout but I think I prefer Hulk overall. If we landed Mueller, we may as well just let Marin get a shot. I'm not comparing the two but Bayern is going to want at least 25-30M for him due to his age and potential. If we could nick him for under 20M then that would be a good buy but I just don't see Bayern letting one of their young prized assets go on the cheap.

Wouldn't his weekly wages be astronomical though? I remember that was the main reason United did not go for him... He was the only thing that looked good today for them... Arjen Rubbish does the same thing for the past 7 years, head down, cuts in from the right and shoots, RVP was wide open when Arjen hit that post shot. Great skill and tremendous speed but he's a selfish one... Between the injuries and his selfish play I am glad we sold him and made a profit too. That backline was an atrocity as well. Klossa should start (Gomez doesn't really do it for me) because he would have a field day.
