Daily Star claiming Looserfool are planning a £15m move for Danny whilst Romeu might be looking for a move due to lack of match time.

Personally think its both bull, why would Danny leave a club where he's 2nd choice up front to be behind Carroll, Suarez, etc. Just thought Id see whether people think he should stay or go? Same for Romeu...

Why did Sturridge sulk for 1/2 a season & generally play like a c**t? I wouldn't be surprised if he moved at all, & you can be sure its his agent or dad who is feeding these stories.

I agree with Ben, it seems that Sturridge is a bit of a whining b*tch. Thinks he is better than he is and needs a massive ego check. He ddi the same with City coming here as he is doing now, feeding stories about City and the scouse. No doubt the boy is talented and will be a fantastic striker in the future, but the last thing we need is a baby whining on in the dressing room disappearing in games before reappearing on when he has wasted an opportunity.

I was a massive fan of Sturridge but I don't like the way he goes on. Any player thinking they can bully their club because they have a year left on their deal (i know it's very common) deserves a shock. I'd let him leave for free next year and make him train with the kids if he doesn't check his attitude.

Well, as for Romeu, I could maybe see him leaving, though I certainly wouldn't like to. At the moment he's behind Mikel, Meireles and maybe Essien for the DM spot.

Obviously it's the usual tabloid made-up bullsh*t, but regardless, I'd be very surprised if Danny is allowed to leave (that is if he even wants to, which there is no evidence for).

Despite his faults he's one of the few promising centre forwards in the country right now, and with Drogba leaving and Hulk (probably) joining, I can see him getting a lot more opportunities in his preferred central position. Of course that could change if we sign another CF in the close season.

ROmeu is a difficult one. He looked really promising when he first came into the team, but towards the end of the year when he got games he looked really slow and rusty, maybe just because of injuries beforehand? Not sure..

^^ I think it's more a case of them having first refusal if we do decide to sell. We'd be mad to though. He looked really promising in his first few games but then after a few bad ones he disappeared from the first team altogether.

It's surprising how many Chelsea fans don't think much of Sturridge. He was our best striker by far for the first half of the season, despite almost always being played out of position. Sure he has his faults but he's still young and has tons of raw talent. We'd be mad to sell him too.

I also think it would be mad to sell him, but with the proviso only if he`s willing to learn from his terrible last 3 months of greed and inept play.

I don't think he was played out of position, he didn't have the attributes needed and still doesn't in my mind anyway to play as the forward in the 4-5-1/4-3-3 we were playing early in the season. He needs people in and around him to shine. He'll be better in a 4-2-3-1 with Mata or Hazard just off him, and Hulk or whoever else trying to run on beyond him, but playing as an inside forward style winger for want of a better, less football manager-y phrase suits his skill set. He's fast, likes to cut inside and likes to make runs in behind defenders.

Also, I don't think people don't rate him or dislike him so much as have now seen the worst of him and people's opinions on him have come back down to earth. He was at his best early in the season, he was at his worst late on in the season. Hopefully he can maintain his form longer next year, or at least not be as terrible as he was when he was out of form... maybe terrible is harsh, but when he wasn't playing well he was very bad to watch. Moaning, selfish, lazy and ineffectual is not a nice combination for fans to see and that is him at his worst. At his best he scores, creates and is a real live wire, hopefully we can see more of that next year.

I would be massively disappointed if we let either of these two go. I'm a big fan of Romeu, I think he has what it takes and is an excellent option to play instead of Mikel when we need a more creative duo in the central pairing. He's a more expansive passer than Mikel and although he isn't as good defensively as Mikel is still excellent, especially for his age and adds a lot to the squad as a whole, in fact he's a massive part as to why we don't need to sign another central midfielder.

I would like Sturridge to stay but there comes a time when the club will have to ask itself; Does his talents exceed his piss poor attitude and selfishness? I sure hope it does but the idea of him simply being an overrated English player is beginning to enter the back of my mind. Perhaps he is not the player we thought and will be one of those great players for a mid table club.

For me, jury is still out and he needs to remain and play his natural position this season. If we are having this conversation next year, then The Scouse can have him... Next May when they're once again in the bottom half of the top ten and Suarez will be off for greener pastures. Then we could ship Danny to them for the 15M!

Hopefully, it never gets to this and the way things dramatically changed this year, Torres could be the one shipped...

Daily Star but anyway i'll bite. Romeu has the talent to be a great DM for Chelsea and Spain in the future, we can't say whether Pep didn't believe he could do it because Romeu himself said he left for more playing time. Mikel could easily regress and put in another poor season so we need Romeu to be that other option.

We still need to think about homegrown players and Sturridge is one of the most talented English players. Quite clearly he's watched a lot of videos of great players and studied them, he believes he has the talent to recreate what they do but near the end of the season it just did not work out for him and it came off as very selfish. The great players sometimes need to be selfish and arrogant about their play in order to achieve greatness. Sturridge should start the season as second choice striker and I expect him to impress. The club would be mad to let a talent like his go (and they won't) as a player he's going to be either poor or great, no inbetween for him.

Heard something about Sturridge starting up front at the Olympics for GB, given some more time to develop I reckon he could turn into a great striker, his arrogance and selfishness will suit that, but at the moment I agree with the rest who say he isn't at the stage yet where he can expect to walk into the lone striker role at Chelsea. Who knows, maybe if he comes into his own up front at the Olympics he may get his wish and start up front for Chelsea, would be a real shame to see him go.

Well I agree about that. It's a good sign that his right foot improved towards the end of the season, which tells me he's acknowledged a weakness in his game and has worked to correct it. I just find it incredible to see people turning on a young player who's had one full season here, yet Torres still gets the benefit of every doubt from a lot of people, despite being much more of a let down.

Sturrige to leave, if thats true I'm more than ok with it.

it 12 months time no one will give him a second thought (other than the few highlights on MOTD for a lesser team)

I find it comical that there are people who are pining for the likes of Thomas Müller, who scored a grand total of 7 goals in the Bundesliga, while we have a superior player in Sturridge who it seems many have given up on. Yes, he has flaws, but he's 22 and he just scored 11 goals in the Premiership whilst playing out of position. Yes, he could stand to be a little less selfish, but what 22 year old doesn't have flaws in their game? Early in the year, he was a future superstar. Now he's trash. Maybe, just maybe, the truth lies somewhere in the middle and some of us should stop being so short-sighted.

Agree with almost everyone here . Giving up on two young, immensely talented players after half a bad season would be insanity. Especially in Danny's case.
