I'm convinced that Drogba would have gotten a lot of stick if he was around these days. There were a lot of games where he didn't score or get an assist but was just a massive headache for defenders by bullying them and linking up with our other players which is what we saw with Delap yesterday. Yes there are still parts of his game to improve on I think if we give him the time he'll prove to be worth it.

I was pretty adamant that I wanted him out but that didn't happen and to be fair to him he did what we expected of us in the end last season which was top 4 and the conference league, the CWC was a nice bonus. We'll see how it goes this season but I'll get behind him and get to keep my negativity to a minimum, but in my opinion anything less than a good CL run and a title challenge this season is a sackable offence. Would also be nice to win a cup but those first 2 are the bare minimum for me.

Surprisingly cheap signing really, he's looked a good prospect and £16m nowadays seems pretty decent value. That being said I don't see him ever playing for Chelsea if we sign Simons.

I don't think we ever knew what Atletico offered, either way, they decided we wanted too much and ended up with that other guy. Doubling our money on a player we had for a year isn't too shabby at all.

We've done well there, hopefully we can press ahead with Xavi Simons now we've got some money in seeing as the Nkunku and Jackson sagas will probably go on til the end of the window.
