  1. That free kick is perfect. Absolutely perfect.
  2. Not easy to break them down. Maybe a change or two...
  3. Too much is made of set piece coaches. Arsenal had a streak with theirs and the talk about the thing is elevated.
  4. Good half from us. Plenty of chances to put one in. Benfica had nothing on us. Slow pace but very expected because of the heat and Benfica is fine sitting back.
  5. I love the way the south american clubs are taking this tournament.
  6. That is just a pretty cynical viewpoint of Todd Boehly for example. He's been sighted in games often. If he was just in for the money why would he bother... If you look up at how many things he is in it is weird he has time to go to games even as much as he does. Football is pretty contagious sport for a good reason. I am sure even he is feeling similar feelings watching games what an average fan does. He has enough of money but that is also his job so to say. He knows money like greengrocer knows lettuce. That is what he does in a simplistic view. Neither if us know him so we can't know if he is emotionally Invested but I personally don't And this is the same with most of our younger players. Can't expect them to just storm into premier league and go past seasoned defenders. What would it tell about Premier League and its level...?
  7. Not the thread to really talk about it but I reiterate: Much easier to make money off Chelsea is to be a top dog/one of the top dogs in footballing world. More doors open, more revenue opportunities rise, much more interest towards everything we sell and so on. London is the best footballing city in the world in most ways. Smallish Stamford Bridge is a stumbling block but hopefully resolved in some way. I actually think the revenue that we talk about all the time could be chump change and only in media focus because of the FFP which relates directly to the sport itself. The big invisible money is hidden behind joint ventures and opportunities opening because of Chelsea and the brand.
  8. Winning Bayern in their last game is a good indicator of their level. Okay the game itself wasn't a must win for either but I am pretty sure Bayern went in that to win it. We haven't won any major side under Boehly to my recollection at least with the core we have. Newcastle and Aston Villa we've beaten in a competitive game and that is basically the level we are at. I think Benfica is around the level of those two. We need to step up as a squad and this is perfect opportunity.
  9. I'd concentrate on Benfica first. Massive task in itself. I'd say their side is pretty close to being the level of Palmeiras. It is a coin toss really.
  10. Good looking signings and worlds best midfielder back in action.
  11. Yes I know City group and Red Bull is doing that but apart from those two and probably some others we will have an edge to the rest. Once again this is sort of a gimmick to have breathing room on transfers and have a good place to nurture top talent. We wouldn't have this if there was more unity between clubs and a clear system. Now they are just plugging the loopholes in this sh*tty wooden boat of a system.
  12. Now I understand why people said the Premier League season was poorest in ages if "sh*t" manages to score 10 goals 😅
  13. Good finish and I love the way he used that big frame. Basically Jackson could do that as well as he is big also but he is many times weirded out by that rounded object close to his feet.
  14. Probably those deals are negotiated as well as the clubs takeover. Weird world of football. This thing however is not our invention. We are doing this to have a competitive edge to most of our competition. Again a sign of wild west and complete disorganization of European football.
  15. Sporting Lisbon in sights.
  16. Don't mind people calling the current style of football boring. That is fine. I want us to play with more pace as well. I like when we run at the opponent with the pace we naturally we have in the side. I like exciting counter attacking moments in games... Well only if we do them actually. Don't want opponent attacking our backline over and over again. That is what we had tons under Pochettino I feel. Postecoglu also is a fan of that. Well neither of them want them but they invite it with inferior quality of players and lack of experience. I don't think our squad is implementing Enzo's style yet in the best way either. I think if we scored early and if we finished our chances in a better percentages we'd be fine with this system. Playing 1-0 or 2-0 up we could be more explosive in situations if needed and control games better. I think de la Fuente, Alonso and Pep and probably Arteta has similar idea of football than Enzo. Deep down I don't believe you can win anything big without balance. I think we want to win big at some point instead of being just entertaining for neutrals. PSG and Liverpool to me are combining entertainment and balance in a good way. Their squads are also much more completed for that compared to ours. Our squad probably needs a few additions and to gain a ton experience to come close to these two sides. Not sure if Enzo is the coach to give that ultimately in terms of entertainment.
  17. Palmers coaches before Enzo Maresca were: Pochettino, Pep Guardiola and Enzo Maresca. Not 100% sure Enzo Maresca's tactics are the sole reason of his declining goals output. For example that Conference League final..can't be sure of course but I am pretty certain Maresca didn't go over him after the game and said "nice one Cole but don't try anything on your own in the future. Just stick to the plan." Cole needs to learn to take matters into his hands in the right way in games. Cole is a young lad and I am sure there are basics in Maresca's football everyone needs to learn. Same goes to Pep's teams. Cornerstones of the footballing idea they have. Every coach has them. BUT his goals involment has dropped and it is a bit alarming. I am sure Enzo's football and where we are as a team has something to do with it, why woudn't it. I am sure Cole doesn't mind his output dropping if we keep winning games. Enzo just said in his last presser or the one before he'd prefer to have 4 players scoring 10 goals each instead one scoring 40. Which is what every coach in the world would naturally say.
  18. https://www.fifa.com/en/tournaments/mens/club-world-cup/usa-2025/scores-and-fixtures We are facing Benfica on saturday after watching Palmeiras face Botafogo. The games are on at farily decent hour as well.
