  1. Ah a signing an ambitious club trying first and foremost to win big trophies. We've got Barco and Emegha to replace Enzo, Cucu and Joao Pedro.
  2. Given the media briefs, and how BlueCo like to paint players leaving as the bad guys, I can see Cucurella, Enzo and Joao Pedro leaving. One report said something like to expect to see a few players play their last Chelsea match on Sunday
  3. He has not been good enough to go. Whether it is his injuries or his attitude he has been really poor this season.
  4. That seems likely. Emegha is also already signed up so there is Joao Pedro's replacement. Who is Strasbourgs left defender not named Ben Chilwell?
  5. Reports in Spain, so pinch of salt and all, say Pdro is going to tell Alonso he wants to leave. In his case is how bad we have been have cost him a spot in the Brazil squad, imo.
  6. Anyn on here live in, or close to, London. What's it like for you now Arsenal have officially won the league?
  7. Alonso was interviewed in Spain and, when asked about the futures of Joao Pedro, Enzo and Cucurella and them being linked to moves away, said "this is the nature of football, but we will build a good team"
  8. This was years ago Syd. I don't remember where I heard it, I remember a video of Rice being interviewed talking about his families Chelsea background and then something about us lowballing him on wages and his dad not being happy in negotiations. Maybe was the same summer he went to Arsenal. Again I don't remember the details clearly. We did try a few times under Roman but west Ham refused to sell.
  9. The Athletic are the latest ones to say we are sell to buy, and the loss of CL will add to that. Summer window should be interesting. Apparently the Madrids are looking at signing Enzo and Cucu.
  10. One transfer often not mentioned is that of Declan Rice. Him and his family are Chelsea, he wanted to come back here but blueco insulting him and his dad so he went on to win the title, and perhaps CL, for Arsenal.
  11. Win this game and we either have Conference league or Europa league if result go in our favour.
  12. That's @dermott 2 out of 4 with 2 to be decided. He predicted Spurs stay up and PSG win the CL. Also called City to win the FA cup
  13. Felt confident City would not be able to beat this Bournemouth
  14. Indeed. All that wasted when we had the funds to have Donnarumma, Kvaratskhelia, Oshimen and Barcola in our team. But it's fine cause we appointed Alonso, all else is forgiven for some.
  15. That line up is pretty funny. 2 billion spent.
  16. So we should be able to spend what is needed to back Alonso with 3 or 4 world class players then?
  17. Quenda - up to 44 million (pre agreement, not loaned back) Penders - 17 million (though officially signed and loaned back in 2024). Sarr - 12 million ( though bought forward so was a hit on this seasons books). Emegha - 20 million Barco - 8.7 million. Given BlueCo own Strasbourg they can arrange whatever fees they see fit. Still the 3 that are actually new Chelsea signings, and not just new arrivals having been on loans, set us back 72.7mill based on what is currently reported. Now if those 3 actually help us move forward and become key squad players then great, that seems rather unlikely for next season though, wouldn't you say? Quenda still only 18 and missed a large chunk of this season through injury. Emegha early 20s and, based off what I have read on this forum, is a prima diva like Vini jnr with not even Delaps "talent". Barco could not cut it at Brighton. Add to that Sarr clearly is not ready for this step yet and most say neither is Penders so how would these 5 help Alonso? At a bare minimum I have to believe even our most optimistic supporter would see Alonso needs: A world class keeper. A world class centerback to partner Levi. A left sided attacker suited to Alonsos pressing game who also knows how to read the game, score and assist. A world class striker to compete with Joao Pedro. Like I said that is a minimum. I also think he needs a second class centerback, a midfielder in the Matic mold to partner Caicedo and another attacking who can play left, right or through the middle. The minimum 4 though if BlueCo don't deliver Alonso that he goes the way of all their other appointments. And none of us want that.
  18. We've Been told the sporting directors are not going anywhere so that side of the battle remains lost.
  19. I wonder what Alonso thought about his first 3 signigns, Emegha, Barco and Quenda, all being signed up long before he was even a thought for the owners. One of the PR briefs was they would have around 3 or so new players for him for the summer window. That's 3 and not ones to help us move forward
  20. Will there be anything left of interest for the final day? For there to be either one, or both, of us and City have to win tomorrow. I don't see either of us doing so.
  21. I dont believe any are.
  22. So Pep out and Maresca really does get the Man City job? Very interesting to see how that goes.
  23. Yup, not enough of the fanbase truly want to get rid of BlueCo.
  24. If our aim is to back Alonso and develop a squad capable of challenging for the title: Goalkeepers: New World Class number 1, Sanchez number 2. Loan Penders, sell the rest. Fullbacks: James, Hato. Sell Gusto and Cucurella, sign genuine competition for James and New number 1 left back. Centerbacks: Colwill, Chalobah as back up. Loan Acheampong (he needs regular games) and Sarr (same as Josh), sell the rest. Sign 1 world class centerback and another very, very good one unless we can get 2 world class centerbacks. Center midfield: Caicedo and Santos. Loan Essugo, sell Lavia and Enzo. Buy a world class physical powerhouse partner for Caicedo (like a Matic) and buy a PL proven rotation midfielder. Wide attackers: Estevao and Quenda. Sell the rest and sign 2 mid 20s attackers suited to Alonsos pressing game. Striker: happy either way on Joao Pedro. If he stays we need a world class Striker in as number 1. If he goes need a solid, hard working second choice who chips in with at least 15 no penalty goals during the season. Sell the rest.
