And who was one of the nominees that he beat to that award? You guessed it, Raheem Sterling. If my memory serves me correctly Hazard, unlike Sterling, was also nominated for the PFA player of the year that season. But hey, I don't know how to argue back and you know better than the players themselves!

Jose has started numerous youth players in our pre and post season friendlies.

I hope we've learned from the Torres fiasco that keeping a player around because we've overpaid for them and can't recoup a respectable portion of it back only hurts us.

Seemed to easily cut inside off the left every time he got the ball, and is clearly the best free kick taker in the squad. Awful shot though when he did get into a decent position.

I don't think he was any worse than Remy (or Hazard or Fabregas for that matter), and all 3 were excellent last season. So not going to read too much into yesterdays performance.

It wasn't an open goal but he'd risen above Monreal and was about 6 yards out and headed it over. If he'd just headed it into the ground it almost definitely would have gone in (would have been a similar goal to Muller's in the 2012 CL final).

From memory Wenger said he'd be resting Sanchez at the start of the season due to the Copa? To be honest i'd trade us missing Costa for them missing Sanchez any day. Remy is easily the best 2nd choice striker in the league and is probably just as likely to score. Hell Remy would start for Arsenal.
