haha

tbh though, after this result it is justified!

Weird for you to say that,

for me a Forum is not just for sharing ideas like who we should buy/sell formations form of players/managers etc it's a place where when things are good like winning a Trophy winning a Title or even just playing well likeminded people get together

and show how happy they are...

when we lose like the CL final it's a place to find some consellation in knowing other people feel as bad as you and with the

help of other opinions that help you believe the good times will return and might only be round the corner..

I have not monitored Octvill's posts in fact I do as close as I can to the opposite but I have never noticed him on here congratulating the team/manager or just himself for being happy when things are going our way unyet a loss or lately

even a Draw brings him out to help already depressed fans of the Club get even more depressed,

I think people are over reacting but I have a very positive attitude, anyone who hasn't and who for any reason thinks Octville knows anything about the game that he hasn't just cut and pasted is destined to get more and more dejected every time they visit the site...

no wonder the member count is dropping off

If Di Santo and Sinclair had been given a bash earlier on, we would have won. :yeahthat:

Getting pissed off with Big Phil...

how do you know that? we had already created sh*t loads of chances and ballsed them up, and i dont think di santo or sinclair would have been defending the equaliser.

I was being sarcastic, just emphasising the point that Di Santo, Sinclair and Mancienne should have been given a decent amount of time to show what they can do.

I suppose you could argue (and again I emphasise I haven't seen the game) that if we were creating sh*t loads of chances and missing them then a possible tactic could have been to hook the player most culpable and giving another player a chance to bury one. Sound to me like Drogba was very guilty of missing badly on a number of occasions and therefore there was a case for hooking him and putting on another striker in Di Santo. That obviously doesn't mean Di Santo would have definitely scored however it does suggest Scolari would have stuck with Drogba even if he strolled around doing a Foghorn Leghorn impression.

Why bother having a striker on the bench if he has no chance at all of getting on the park irrespective of how poorly the player in front of him is playing?

And there you are like clockwork, you little worm

I will be celebrating a draw? This from the punk that revels in the misery of this forum when we dont come out on top.

If I didnt know any better, I would assume you were a rival fan registered here just to make us all look like twats by association. Because, for this board, thats all your contributions do.

Congratulations on not including a demand for Scolari's head in one of your sterling posts for what is likely the second time in human history. It must've been quite a challenge for you

i fully agree, one of scolaris failings seems to be his faith in players and his inability to react to a player doing poorly. but to say bringing on two untried youngsters would have changed the result is wrong. it might have, it might not have.

The thing is Loz Drogba is the man everybody wants in form and this is the last chance he had to be at his best for the UTD game,

If he had scored the winner here a bit of confidence could have helped our cause more than it will be hindered by a replay at Southend.

If Di Santos had have came on for him and missed a couple of sitters, then lost his man on a corner and we lost 1-2 Scolari would have been wrong to bring him on,

this is Deja vu and the Manager is in a tough position.

I think it was an opportunity missed to give our young players a start. I'm not saying it would have made a big differance to the result but it was Southend FFS. Surely we should not have been afraid to blood 3 young lads for this.

If things are not going to plan bring on the big guns second half, if things are going ok leave them on the bench to protect them, rest them and maybe even make them a bit hungier for next week.

out of the seniors that started only cole, mikel and lampard didnt really make any sense. the rest needed game time so i could sort of understand it.

He is in a tough position but he gets paid very well for being in tough positions and making big decisions. Southend at home in the FA Cup, our team made up of 11 internationals yet we are hanging on at 1-0 with Southend threatening.

He didn't make big decisions - he pretty much made no decisions as he waited till near the end of the game to make any changes at all. Having not seen the game I can't comment on individual players performances but I find it hard to believe that a there wasn't quite a few well below par and yet despite this they stayed on the park until the death.

This is the bit that bothers me (and I am not just talking about today) - we have a lot of players who just seem to be going through the motions week in week out, showing very little desire/appetite for the3 game and they seem to be pretty much guaranteed first team football week in week out.

Now I do recognise we have had a lot of injuries and I am not going to be so naive to assume that any of the youngsters would definitely do better however in some circumstances I don't think they could do worse and their selection would also send out a message that current levels of performances by some big time charlies will not be tolerated.

I stand by what I said before that I don't think Scolari should be sacked however I would say that if offered his resignation (which he clearly won't do) then we should bite his hand off. I was a lot more confident under Grant then I am under Scolari. I wanted Grant to be given another season and I wish he had been.

i honestly think he should have done what jose did in his first season and stuck to a steady core of players. jose had his 9 starters and 3 or 4 others he swapped about. unfortunately scolari hasnt had this option with injurys and bans (im looking at you terry and drogba) and so hasnt had the chance to build some momentum with his first chioce team.

You know my views on Grant and I wish he had have been given another season, it would have been fair and I believe he knew what we needed to add to what we already had,

that said I am wlling to back Scolari and I dont think any manager should be expected to get a new team playing as he wants it to with hardly any new players and loads of injuries..plus the best striker at te Club being a shadow of his former self.

I still say although Drogba was wastefull today he had to stay on in the hope of itdoing him some good for the upcoming UTD game and can't comment on the other players except to say that Scolari must feel he had the team out there most likely not to conced the equaliser late on...ok he was wrong but if he had have changed more or earlier who knows what we would be talking about now.

On Scolari resigning..I hope he has never let it cross his mind,

who would we have next? and when they have no funds and draw a few games who next?

we need to get some stability here and I would say that with any manager in charge that could be concidered a good manager,

I dont think he needs to be exceptional he just needs to be decent and get some time.

Thats my opinion and was the same opinion as I had when Grant was in charge.
