Johan Gruyff Posted January 6, 2009 Posted January 6, 2009 (edited) Has LFS given up? With recent results e.g West Ham 1-1 Everton 0-0 Fulham 2-2 Southend! 1-1! Is he the right man for the job? At this moment in time, I'm not sure. I can't see us winning a trophy this season with him at the wheel. I honestly don't know. Maybe only 4 losses in all and 9 draws, but maybe you haven't noticed, we are playing terrible. What do you think? DISCUSS!! Edited January 6, 2009 by Johan Gruyff
evissy Posted January 6, 2009 Posted January 6, 2009 Even though Scolari has let us down many times this season I have never wanted to sack him. I believe Scolari is a winner and he needs time as do the players. Besides who would be better? Half of the season gone we are second in the league, progressed in CL and still in FA-cup.. It can only get better, right :D Imagine if we win ManU next sunday..would you like to sack him then?
Lofty Posted January 6, 2009 Posted January 6, 2009 Even though Scolari has let us down many times this season I have never wanted to sack him. I believe Scolari is a winner and he needs time as do the players. Besides who would be better? Half of the season gone we are second in the league, progressed in CL and still in FA-cup.. It can only get better, right :D Imagine if we win ManU next sunday..would you like to sack him then? As I said in another thread, I had my doubts about Scolari for the obvious reason of his lack of experience of club management, and particularly the Premiership. Also he's a little bit old. And that brings me to my next point - he's only here for 2, 3 years at most. So the first year at least, you put down to him needing time with the players. And maybe he'll need a second year. Which might be fine, except that if and when he does start to get it together, the next thing you know, it'll be time for him to f**k off out of it. If we win on Sunday? I have absolutely no faith in our chances of getting anything on Sunday. I admit that this feeling is made all the worse by the fact that my brother in law is taking my nephew to Old Trafford, and that neither of them are Chelsea fans. Shame and scandal in the family. But anyway. Back to Scolari's Chelsea. Of course I hope I'm wrong but even though we're still second, my feeling is that the League has gone. We struggled in the Champions League Group Stage. We'll need to do a lot better to get past Juventus, and I wouldn't be at all amazed if we lose at Roots Hall. And even that's not a worst case scenario. Worst case is missing out on a Champions League place for next season, which if our current form continues, is a very real possibility. I'm not impressed, I'm not convinced, and yes my glass is well and truly half empty. At best.
Chippy Posted January 6, 2009 Posted January 6, 2009 Sack him and bring back Jose. Hold on Liam, I think you might have something there
Mr Chelsea Posted January 6, 2009 Posted January 6, 2009 have faith we've got to give him a chance or we'll end up sacking the next manager after getting his first draw i'm not sure how long that chance should be extended for though
Lofty Posted January 6, 2009 Posted January 6, 2009 Sack him and bring back Jose. Take the piss. See if I care. But don't confuse me with some ignorant glory hunting JCL type twat. And iif you are going to take the piss at least take the piss out of what I actually write. Like for instance. Did I or have I ever called for the return of Mourinho? Answer. No I f**king well haven't. Not now not ever. In fact, I've actually stated in so many words, not so long ago: "Mourinho's gone, get over it". Neither have I called for Scolari to be sack. Yet you ignore what I do write with a blatant, flippant little piss take, "Sack him and bring back Jose", implying that a lack of faith in Scolari equates to JCL type love of Jose f**king Mourinho. Well get this. I don't have any faith in Scolari. And that doesn't make me a f**king Mourinho loving JCL type glory hunting muppet. I've supported this club for over 40 years; I've been through all kinds of sh*t in that time, travelled the length of breadth of the country watching the team, and to have my doubts about Scolari tarred with the same brush or even mentioned in the same breath as the mickey mouse so called opinions of some f**king JCL halfwit pisses me right off.
Chippy Posted January 6, 2009 Posted January 6, 2009 F*ck me Lofty you read a lot into that one line.. I doubt Liam even thought about JCL fans when he wrote it let alone directed it at you. I even quoted him and had a laugh and I hadn't even read your post, we all get angry when things are going wrong at the club and all have different opinions why, I dont obviously want to speak for Liam but I'm sure he wasn't intending it the way you read it. if it was intended in the way I thought when I quoted him in agreement I would say it's more towards everyone that comes on with the "it wouldn't have happened under Jose" posts. I know it's not my place to answer but as I agreed with his Jokey type post I thought I should.
Chippy Posted January 6, 2009 Posted January 6, 2009 please excuse my ignorance but whats JCL??? It's a Johnny come lately, a fan who came when we started winning basically and not a Liam, Lofty Chippy or anybody else on here worthy of replying to. Dont know about Bonetti though...he disagreed with me earlier ;)
PloKoon13 Posted January 6, 2009 Posted January 6, 2009 I think I said this in another topic, but despite my frustrations, we should keep him due to lack of a better alternative.

Mr Chelsea Posted January 6, 2009 Posted January 6, 2009 Mr Chelsea if you have read any of my posts on the subject you'll see that I could have written that one :( got to get my inspiration from somewhere ;)
geezer Posted January 6, 2009 Posted January 6, 2009 Have you two ever been seen in the same room together? No, then I put it to you that you are one and the same - like Michael and Latoyah Jackson (only nothing like them at all).

You'd want to get over yourself Lofty. I stopped reading your posts about 9 months ago and that "flippant little piss take" was in no way aimed at you.

As it is, all I can say is - if you can't be be bothered to read my posts, for whatever reason - go and f**k yourself you prize f**king c**t. And if that's me banned then so be it.
geezer Posted January 6, 2009 Posted January 6, 2009 Whats it like on Planet Geezer? You really want to know?
Chippy Posted January 6, 2009 Posted January 6, 2009 (edited) You really want to know? I already do, Its a lovely warm place with its own football team and Wayne Bridge running up and down the left wing like a mixture of a tough Arjen Robben and a left footed Pat Nevin  Edited January 6, 2009 by Chippy
Johan Gruyff Posted January 8, 2009 Author Posted January 8, 2009 (edited) My only worry is, JM was sacked three consecutive draws. I know there's a difference coz this is LFS' first season but still, I just think if results don't get better in the next month or so I think we should at least just think who our possible next gaffa is or lineup a few. Very synical view on things, there. This second half of the season is what'll settle it for me. If we come on strong and do amazingly well, then he can defninitely stay. But if it all goes horribly wrong, then...well...
mad_mac Posted January 9, 2009 Posted January 9, 2009 I think that the "recent run of events" excuse that was used to get rid of Jose was an excuse as the writing was already on the wall. However, should we fire scolari right now? Absolutely not! We'd be the laughing stock of world football to go through 3 managers in just over a year! Give him a chance, give him some time, and money and see if he can prove himself. However, i'd refuse to give him money in the summer if he continues to play the same system time and time again with huge reluctance to change Scott
