just saw this on fansfc.com so i dont know how reliable it is but if its true then it could be a very good addition to the coaching squad.

Claude Makelele could be on his way back to Chelsea Football Club.

The former France international is recognised as one of the best players of the Premier League era, having starred for the Blues from 2003-2008.

Makelele left Stamford Bridge in the summer to return to Ligue 1 with Paris St Germain, but a return to England could well be on the cards.

It is being reported that Chelsea are keen to add the 36-year-old to their coaching staff next season, with suggestions of talks having already taken place.

Would it? Hiddink is giving advice on potential transfer targets so could also give advice on backroom staff.

And bringing Maka back could as a coach could come from some of the senior players maybe??

if it is true then yes it would, transfer targets and especially coaching staff for next season will only be chosen by the manager/coach of next season.

I would be a happy man.

Yes and me. I think he would provide an excellent 'middle man' between the manager and players, and he would be a great influence on the younger players, especially Mikel and Mancienne.

Absolutely stupid rumour. Maka said that he wanted to retire in France, so after leaving us, and being in his mid-30's why would he then come back to Chelsea?

The only way he MAY come back is if it was in some form of coaching role. If I was Mikel, and I saw Essien back and then Maka coming back, i'd be handing in a transfer request pronto

Would be great, but I think Scott is right: Maka is a legend, and I think he stays with PSG a while, and then kicks up his heels back home after his playing days are over. No rush to get into the coaching game, especially when you are recognized as one of the greatest modern position players ever to grace the pitch. Im sure the offers will come pouring in

edit: despite him having it all wrong :)

The original post says it is a coaching role, not a playing role.

i think you need to read what i posted a little more carefully.

Not sure if we should get Maka 'back in business' so soon but I love the idea of getting back our stars to involve the team especially Maka.

Sorry!!!

Absolutely yes to him coming back in a coaching role! Think I'd read one too many dumb stories about us that day, and one too many sh*te stories about the scum, so as soon as I saw the title and not the "to their coaching staff" I was beyond fed up
