............ seriously thinking of wanting Man U to win the final.

http://www.dailymail.co.uk/sport/article-1...er-England.html

The bloke who wrote this is a self-confessed Man U nut

The bloke who wrote this is, to quote DD, a f**king disgrace. Take this for instance:

Did you know Didier Drogba (right) is a ‘Goodwill Ambassador’ for the United Nations Development Programme?

Seriously.

And, having seen that tantrum, can you imagine what Drogba’s three children could be like?

Now that has to be scraping the barrel, way down there with the poll comparing Drogba's passion with Joey Barton's outright thuggery.

Simple fact1: Drogba dives, Drogba admits it

Simple fact2: Gerrard dives, Gerrard lies about it

Simple fact3: The Barcelona manager called JT a gentleman after the second leg.

Slightly more complicated fact1: Gerrard is a lying hypocritical cheat with an effective publicity machine behind him and is therefore falsely regarded as a fitting candidate for the England Captaincy.

Slightly more complicated fact2: The FA's "respect" campaign is a farce, will continue to be so (even though the governing body in this case was Uefa) while performances such as Tom Henning Ovrebo's on Wednesday night are allowed to go unchallenged, or even while referees of such proved incompetency are allowed to preside over events.

Slightly more complicated fact3: The comparison with Drogba and Fletcher is meaningless. We had been cheated out of the game, the Mancs were 3-0 up. Fletcher is being allowed to appeal, despite the plain simple fact that Uefa rules prohibit red card decisions to be overturned on any grounds except mistaken identity. There is no way in this world Wednesday night's result will be overturned.

Des Kelly: what a prize c**t

Edited by Lofty

des kelly is and always has been a bitter hack. I dislike almost every football writer in the british press, and he is easily in the top three. only powell beats him clearly.

that quote about drogba's kids is outrageous- kelly has this rare talent to make you feel both anger and intense boredom at the same time, a bit like a nazi working in human resources.

Lest there be any doubts about the Daily Mail's credibility, this should put them to rest:

http://www.dirtytackle.net/2009/04/the-dai...re-lying-liars/

Patrick Collins is by far the worst sportswriter. He's barely even a real even journo. He just uses his column to air his personal vendettas and throw rocks at his targets from the moral high ground.

Chelsea aside, snooker also seems to be in his crosshairs, and a few weeks ago he insisted on continually mentioning the weight of a particular player to make his point. Juvenile, petty and unprofessional, but totally in keeping with what I know of the man.

Btw, here's a good article on double standards in the media:

What have you got against the man? He's very balanced in his writing and always comes up with a fresh angle on Chelsea:

After reading that how can you bad-mouth him?

Read Colins's article as far as i could go until i was ready to throw up. Shocking journalisim and bitterly written.

Tomorrow , im told, John Aldridge has an article in Irelands Sunday World which absolutely tears us to shreads .

We should run a bet on how many times that plank uses the word "class", either in reference to how we have none, and how Liverpool are a great example of it.

My guess is seven

I'll let you k now about 1.00 mate if i can stoamch the article. This may sound childish but Aldridge is a regular in a well known Dublin club , maybe its worth a visit just to challenge his opinions and see how he reacts when the tables are turned.

That'll be the same John Aldridge who blasted a salvo of abuse at a fourth official during which several swear words were used and caught on TV during the World's most prestigious football event would it?

i had forgotten about that, what a hypocrite. this pretty much shows you exactly what kind of moron he is.

Did anyone catch 606 last night?

Alan Green was his usual obnoxious self, but at least he emphasised that he thought we'd been robbed - though he made it clear he thought it was down to a crap ref rather than match fixing. Naturally there were the expected anti-Chelsea calls by the scouse scum, but I've got to give Green his due, he allowed a Chelsea fan to make his point without interruption during the show.

The Chelsea fan was called Michael from London, but sounded like an Aussie or Kiwi. The point he was making was about the reaction of the media & other fans towards Drogba after Wednesday's game, and he did a brilliant job.

You can find his call on the 5Live 606 Podcast, it downloads as an MP3 file and can be played in WMP: -

http://www.bbc.co.uk/podcasts/series/606/

Find Alan Green 09 May 09 (Duration 52mins) - Download 24MB (right click & save target as)

Michael from London's call is at about 34mins 15secs - well worth a listen (but avoid the rest of the show like the plague!)

I heard the guy too - he was excellent, and Green didn't interrupt him once, allowing him to state eloquently how the whole anti-Chelsea climate in the media has seen us suffer appalling treatment from refs. He gave loads of specific examples - of dodgy red cards, dodgy pens given and not given, totally disproportionate , negative press coverage about RA etc- and argued very well that refs are subconsciously influenced by this. All the talk of the supposed good guys (Barca, manure) and the bad guys (us) makes them afraid to give decisions in our favour, and Wednesday was confirmation of that.

I'd love to have heard Green try and argue with him, as the caller really knew his stuff.

Absolutely, best call I've heard on 606 in ages!

Loved his protest about the demonisation of Didier Drogba too: -

"Didier Drogba did not kick a steward, Didier Drogba did not run twenty yards to punch somebody in the head, Didier Drogba has not made up any accusations of people acting on a racist basis in what they did during the course of the game, Didier Drogba did not dive during the course of the game (in my view) in the way that Steven Gerrard exaggerated a dive to get the penalty against PSV. And yet Didier Drogba has been demonised as though he has done an aggregate or collection of all of those things"

What a vile, bitter old man he is and a discredit to his entire profession. It seems he really sees himself as some kind of moral crusader. Just remember that he is the one who thought Anders Frisk was a fine referee and Barca fans were justified in pelting Abramovich with rubbish.

What did green say when he finished?

Green didn't comment, just pointed out that he'd let the bloke talk without interruption, and then went over to some tart reading out texts - pretty good really!

I listened to your link Bluebeard and I have to say he was very good, very well spoken,Green didnt comment because he couldnt. The guy would have torn strips off him and I reckon Green knew that. This wasnt your average bitter little scouse w**ker or wingeing gooner screaming down the line, this guy was articulate, polite but very firm in his convictions.Fair play to him.

Totally agree, he was great. When the call finished and Green changed the subject it was the first time I'd laughed since the game, shouting at the radio "answer that you opinionated c*nt" and other such niceties. I really must get out more...
