August 29, 201411 yr Saw a couple of people posted Vagabond of the Western World by Thin Lizzy in the 'top 20 albums' thread, a brilliant album which I love but haven't listened to for ages: It took me a while to even think of it, but Eric Bell might have been Thin Lizzy's best guitarist.
August 29, 201411 yr I never actually owned "Vagabonds Of The Western World", but I did have a double vinyl album called "Remembering", which contained most of the tracks from that album, along all but two of the tracks from "Shades Of A Blue Orphanage", and unless I'm mistaken, Thin Lizzy's first, self-titled album in its entirity, oh and Sitamoia which as far as I know never appeared on any of their studio albums:

When everything changed to CDs I gave a whole pile of L.P.'s away - Kicking myself now!
September 4, 201411 yr I've been listening to a Guinean saxophonist and singer called Momo Wandel Soumah after someone told me his voice sounded like it came "straight out of a graveyard":

September 4, 201411 yr I've been listening to a Guinean saxophonist and singer called Momo Wandel Soumah after someone told me his voice sounded like it came "straight out of a graveyard": That was awesome. It's a lazy and probably quite obvious comparison but he sounds a little like an African Tom Waits. That instant when the sax solo kicks in for the first time is amazing.

It's too bad you did because vinyls actually have better sound quality than digital recordings as the audio is lossless (no information is lost). The original recordings are made in analog (which is what vinyl recordings are) and digital does not capture the complete sound wave. Digital recording converts the sound to an analog signal, which is fed to an amp. The amp then raises the voltage of the signal to a level powerful enough to drive your speaker. This is why dj's still use vinyls to this day. Edited September 4, 201411 yr by TrueBlueTAT

September 17, 201411 yr Looks interesting, but I'm getting a 404 on the Listen Now link. By way of compensation, this is the rest of the Santana/McLaughlin album:
