With the prospect of quoatas on foreign playerscoming down the line is there any young british talent worth looking at in Jan before we're hit with a transfer ban.

EU won't allow Premiership to put any limitations that are based on nationality, so there's not gonna be any quotas for foreign players.

It's impossible to enforce with players from within the European Union. The most anybody can do is the home trained players which is currently coming into effect, and most of our younger foreign players will fall within that category, Mikel does even now. So providing we sign players that are under 19 years of age it doesn't matter where they're from.

You can't blame the lad - after all it is hard to break into our first team. Unlike Arsenal due to Wenger's preference for being caressed by the media rather than actually building a squad capable of winning trophies.

Never mind though, I am sure in years to come you will look back fondly on your years supporting Wenger's ego rather than your team.

What about your own? Haven't you's got any coming through soon?

Oh yeah, you let that kid go to Spammers.

oh the ironing, coming from a fan of a club renowned for "stealing" other teams prospects....

Oh come, come now loz, Wenger's had 3 championship winning teams before you's started your russian revolution. Which, without those roubles you'd still be waiting another 50 years to get the title.

But you're right, I will look back fondly on how he revolutionised English footy, and how even in his later years he created a production line of exciting young talent. With several home grown talents coming through. ;)

But I digress..

And dkw, I expected more from you than this. I can't even say "pot... kettle... black" cos we ain't been continually exposed for '"stealing" other teams prospects' (as you say).

I mean, didn't you's offer Leeds £200k for Taiwo & Woods? Tell me, how much did you end up paying your old kingpin Bates to keep his mouth shut?

Must admit dkw, you've let me down...

So remind me Romford (just n case I wasn''t paying attention)

Wenger took over at Arsenal and inherited one of the meanest defences in British football plus Bergkmap - he then spent money on the lieks of Viera, Petit and Overmars and won the league. Thus meaning he had to spend money to make the side a credible force.

A couple of seasons went by with no silverware so what did Wenger do? he spent money on the likes of Henry, Campbell (OK a free transfer but massive wages), Lungberg and Pires - this was money spent in order to win things.

Then we had the invincibles season (though lets not forget you actually got less points then we did when we won the league after that but hey ho).

Then the ego exploded and Professor Yaffle went off on his path of Wenger righteousness which, when boiled down to bare roots, meant he would never, and will never, win another piece of major silverware. But as long that is altight with you guys yo can rest assured it is absolutely fine with us!!

you may not have been done for anything, but you cant deny you have raided many clubs youth sides fro your own set up, then claimed them as coming through your system. its always amused me that gooners think they dont spend much money yet ignore the massive wages spent by your club to entice young players from the continent.

Arsenal fans never cease to amaze me.

They live in their little bubbles of snobbish football perfection oblivious to the many flaws their club have, but yet are all so obvious to the rest of the sane footballing world.

If perhaps these fans showed the same passion that they have for ignoring facts and believing the propaganda from their manager towards supporting their team for a full 90 mins rather than heading for the exits or booing their own players , or even asking opposing players for their autographs you sense they may become a force.

Luckily, for the rest of us there seems little chance of that bearing fruit.

and dont forget, they play the bestest football ever with the youngest team ever, and they are a bastion for all that is good and great about football. they have never done anything wrong ever. they certainly didnt have a manager take bungs, or buy their way into the league in the first place (a fact they seem to gloss over when talking about our obscene money) and they definately didnt do anything dodgy with a belgian club full of african youngsters.

Jheeeez, what got your goat? C'mon, let's get in a tizz over this.

I could talk about your club's trophy laden history beginning 5 years ago, but I won't.

I'm none too proud of our fans booing a few of our players, but I could cut even deeper by saying you're a fine one to talk about Gooners booing their own.

Let's face it, at least some of our muppets for fans would never hurl racial insults at our own players...

Yes, yes I remember how you's openly abused that fella Paul Canoville.

Now, could someone kindly remind me did one of your white players plea to your fantastic fans to stop the abuse?

My memory's not what it used to be.

Loz, are you trying to tell me Vialli and Ranieri never spent as much as Wenger? And, to counter your argument the money Wenger spent was mostly gotten from the sale of Le Sulk. Which, might I add helped pay for the training ground and Henry (okay, I admit he got it wrong spending £13m on Wiltord).

Nevin spoke out openly about his disgust at the abuse Canoville got and it is without a doubt a shameful part of our history.

I don't deny for a minute that Ranieri and Vialli spent money but then again I am not the one making 'your success was only because of a wallet' jibes. Your success needed money too - as soon as you stopped spending it you stopped winning.

Someone should tell this Romford fella about Henry Norris, the rich (and shady) businessman who bought Woolwich Arsenal, bribed them into the First Division, moved them halfway across London, hired the best manager in the country for a record salary and then provided him with a massive transfer kitty. By pure coincidence, Arsenal went on to be the most successful team in England in the 30s.

Liverpool have a very similar early history - that part seems to be forgotten about on the history channel.

I'd hazard I've forgotten more of our history than half the stuff you know about yours young padwan.

You shouldn't be so ungrateful. Ted Drake was schooled by the best in the business then took that schooling to win you your only championship before the Soviet Revolution.

I'd hazard you've only forgotten the inconvenient bits 3PO, much like the reds up north. Syrupy self-righteousness just ain't the same when you know there's a shady sugar daddy in your own history!

BTW. George Graham was at Chelsea before he ever had anything to do with Arsenal. Maybe you forgot that too.

Anyways, so what I don't understand is why it's so hard for your young players to make a breakthrough?

Aren't there any CBs of CFs coming through? Apart from Kakuta. Cos what's the point of having Frank Arnesen otherwise?

this romford fella should be a politician (and maybe is). hes not answered a single question or comment sent his way, just coming back with more questions everytime.

yes, yes there is. unlike you and your club though we dont shout from the house tops that we have all these superstar kids who will eventually win everything ever, every week or so. we have Bruma at centre half who looks an incredible prospect, we have Borini at Centre forward who looks a natural goalscorer, we have several centre mids out on loan who are doing very well and could get into our first team squad. our acadamy is only now starting to produce after years of neglect, until roman arived our youth setup was very poor at best. we werent offering ridiculous wages to young players from other clubs, only now are we matching what arsenal and utd have done for years. only were evil and destroying football. strange old world isnt it.
