Posted December 23, 200915 yr Goran Pandev has bought himself out of his contract at Lazio after being frozen out at the club. he is now a free agent. ive only seen him play a few times but hes always impressed me, so would he be a good buy for us? heres the article.. Goran Pandev Rescinds Contract With Lazio - OFFICIALThe player's lawyer Mattias Grassani confirmed the Macedonian's application to break free from his terms with the Roman side has been accepted and he is now able to join another club... Lazio striker Goran Pandev has rescinded his contract with the club with immediate effect, and he is now able to join another team after the Lega Calcio's contract dispute resolution chamber ruled in favour of the Macedonian on Wednesday afternoon. The lawyer acting on behlaf of Pandev has confirmed the decision. "Our application has been accepted and Pandev has rescinded his contract," Grassani told Sky Sport Italia shortly after the decision. "Lazio have been ordered to pay the player €160,000 in compensation as well as legal costs. "We received a fax from the Lega and it has confirmed the rescission with immediate effect. "Pandev can now negotiate with any club he likes, but that will be dealt with the agents. In anycase, he is no longer tied to Lazio." Reports have claimed a number of clubs including Inter and Juventus are after the player. Lazio have not issued a statement on the outcome of the case just yet.
December 23, 200915 yr Haven't seen that much of him but the impression I get is that he is a hard worker on the pitch. To get him for free would be a good deal for anyone.
December 23, 200915 yr If we are really going to be so thin up front in the coming weeks (Anelka being out, Drogba off, etc) then I dont see what we have to lose. Especially considering we have the diamond and the tip has been pretty blunt recently Worst case scenario he doesnt work out and we ship him off for a little profit a la Pizzaro or Ben Haim
December 23, 200915 yr I hadn't heard about this. Why did he have to buy himself out of his contract? While he's always looked handy on the pitch, it might not be worth getting him if he's trouble. Of course, it's more likely that this contract trouble with Lazio wasn't his fault at all, but it's something that we should be wary of.

It's the first I've heard of it too, but DKW did mention him being frozen out of the team, and I'm aware of a law stating that if a player, plays less than a certain percentage of games which he's eligible for, he can get out of the contract, so I wonder if it's something to do with that.
December 23, 200915 yr If I recall he fell out with the club as he felt they were demanding far too high a fee for his transfer.
December 23, 200915 yr If I recall correctly, he was one of several players the club branded as "rebels" for similar reasons Loz mentions, and iced out of the squad. If Rafa Benitez values his job, and im not even sure he does, he would be on a plane to Rome right now to plead with the guy in person. Assuming match fitness isnt a problem he would walk into that first team right now Edited December 23, 200915 yr by TheWestwayWonder

December 24, 200915 yr Couldn't you keep quiet? He might be reading, you know? I saw a rumor linking Liverp**l to Pandev earlier in the year actually. (No jokes).
December 24, 200915 yr I think I read somewhere that he already signed for Inter. But not sure if that was right.
