If Villa are ever going to take the next step under O'Neill he has got to improve his bench and start rotating starters to keep them fit. Maybe he just doesnt do it now becuase he doesnt trust his bench players.

He should take advantage of the fact that Villa is becoming a factory for young-ish English talent. Start poaching some of the promising youngsters of other teams, because its clear they are damn close to achieving something big

O'Neill is being an idiot if he is moaning about lack of transfer funds. The Villa owners has given him a lot of money and O'Neill's record of spending it has been very hit and miss.

I think the reason they mess up once march comes is because they actually have a very small squad. So when the first team get tired having played all the matches before, they have very little quality to bring in.

Its all down to a very thin squad and some of them (Carew/ Heskey) are not too young either. Its a suqad that relies a lot on pace (Ashley/ Agbonlahor) and over a period of 9 months there will be decline in terms of pace and how sharp these players are. It would be a very bad move to part ways with a manager like O'Neill and if Villa ever needs to wish to break into the top four they need to pump some money in to build a squad.
