BLUENUT Posted August 24, 2010 Posted August 24, 2010 Mourinho says Arsenal and Liverpool have no chance I have to say, i agree with him, especially after seeing Liverfool crash and burn last night ''Mourinho said: "It's very difficult for [new Liverpool manager] Roy Hodgson as over the last three years they have been getting worse, worse and worse." You gotta love him!
Blueblur Posted August 24, 2010 Author Posted August 24, 2010 Yes i thought the 'worse worse worse' comment was gold!
ethicalstrategy Posted August 24, 2010 Posted August 24, 2010 Wenger didn't get away either. Year after year it looks like [success], but no, looks like, but no. Always the same type of comment, ‘it’s a young team’, ‘it will be next season’. I remember when we [Chelsea] played them [Arsenal] in a Carling Cup semi-final when they played the ‘team of young boys’. The ‘team of young boys’ is not any more the team of young boys now, they are the team of 25, 26, 27-year-olds. So [Cesc] Fabregas, [Theo] Walcott, [Gael] Clichy, [Alex] Song, [bacary] Sagna, they are not any more a team of young kids, they are a team in the age to win things.
Hutch Posted August 24, 2010 Posted August 24, 2010 what you forget to mention is that Mourinho also says Man City can win the title: I think it will again be Man United, Chelsea and of course Man City, because they have a great squad
german-blue Posted August 24, 2010 Posted August 24, 2010 what you forget to mention is that Mourinho also says Man City can win the title: which is hardly surprising...
June Posted August 25, 2010 Posted August 25, 2010 Oh Jose. http://www.telegraph.co.uk/sport/football/teams/england/7963315/Jose-Mourinho-lambasts-Fabio-Capello-and-Liverpool-but-respects-Paul-Scholes.html Jose Mourinho on... Fabio Capello "He has a one-track relationship with players. Ask anyone here at Real Madrid. He can't change. You cannot go around just shouting at players. They need to feel special." Mourinho on... England "For me, it is a mess for England. Players need clear tactics. They cannot be confused about what they have to do. It is the manager’s fault. And it is a big shame." Mourinho on... Liverpool "Manchester United would be a great challenge for me. But Liverpool is not the club for me. I know why, but I cannot tell you." Mourinho on... Steven Gerrard "Gerrard for me is not in the right club. They have problems. They will not win anything. I do not know why Gerrard has stayed so long at Liverpool. He is very loyal. I watched him against Hungary. The best player on the pitch. I like him a lot. A leader. I admire him." Mourinho on... Manchester United "They play the English way, hard and physical. Europe is different. Tactics, strategy, the players you have, the players you pick, it is very different to domestic club football. Manchester is a club who are proud and perhaps look at winning the League title as more important than anything else." Mourinho on... Paul Scholes "Scholes? Fantastic. For me, why isn't he playing for England. It is crazy. Only in England. Scholes is a great, great player. So experienced and still, for me, one of the best in the world in midfield. Manchester United are lucky to have him." Mourinho on... Sir Alex Ferguson "Sir Alex is a great man, a great manager with a lot of respect from everybody." Mourinho on... Chelsea return "I am careful what I say and what I think. For me it might be impossible. I don't know. I am not saying I would not like to. Who knows? Football is strange and beautiful at the same time." Mourinho on... Frank Lampard "He is like a good vintage wine. The bottle is never finished with certain players, and that is Lampard." Mourinho on... transfer targets "Didier (Drogba), (Ashley) Cole and Gerrard are great players. They would be even better here at Madrid because I am here and they would have more freedom on the pitch. So I won’t say I am not interested. They would be welcome here. We will see. I don’t make promises I can’t keep, but I will try to get the best players for Real Madrid." Mourinho on... being special "Am I still the Special One? Yes. The Special One. There is only one of me. That is good. If there were two of me, that would be even better for clubs."
BlueNose Posted August 25, 2010 Posted August 25, 2010 Shame his first to targets wont go to him, what makes him think we want him back? it seems everytime he is interviewed he is asked about coming back as if were in desperate need of his magic touch. Thanks jose, your a legend, but you are part of our history and were not scouse so we dont live in it.
TheWestwayWonder Posted August 25, 2010 Posted August 25, 2010 Agreed, Carlo is exactly what Roman wants in an owner. A man who wins and gets on with it with a minimal fuss. Jose was a great and a proven winner too, but there was baggage as we all know. Plus, Carlo knows the score about spending money and is okay with that. I am really really interested to see what kind of hijinx Jose has planned for Real. He has kept it low key so far becuase, I think, he wants to keep this job for a while. Winning the CL wont just happen overnight, and I think even if he wins it he may stick around longer. Most interesting of all will be the style of play he uses, and what the press does when they drop points or fail to beat Barca or something. He says he has an "obsession" with attacking play since coming there, cant wait to see how long that lasts

Katon Posted August 25, 2010 Posted August 25, 2010 It did at Inter In his second season, so not quite overnight . . . at least by Real Madrid standards. I think the last time they kept a manager that long was Del Bosque back from 1999-2003. It'll be interesting to see what Jose does when keeping a good relationship with his bosses is suddenly one of the most impressive things he can accomplish - not usually one of his strengths, but he does tend to succeed at whatever he's really focusing on.

For a side who waited over 30 years to win the CL, to win it in your 2nd season is quite remarkable. Hopefully Carlo can do the same this year ;)

Ash in particular has had a lot more 'freedom' since Jose left, and I think it's fair to say thathe has always been more about building a hugely effective, and efficient team where everyone sticks to their role, than prioritising free flowing, total football.

It is a nice piece of rewriting of history by Jose isnt it, the one thing our full backs didnt have under him was freedom.
Barry Bridges Posted August 26, 2010 Posted August 26, 2010 It is a nice piece of rewriting of history by Jose isnt it, the one thing our full backs didnt have under him was freedom. Oh they had all the freedom to stay in their own half they wanted! :P

bjd Posted August 26, 2010 Posted August 26, 2010 Hasn't this whole 'interview' been outed as bollocks and completley fabricated by The Mirror ?
