Florent Malouda is putting the best form of his career down to Chelsea coach Carlo Ancelotti.

Malouda struggled to make an impact after his move from Lyon in 2007 but the French forward has been steadily improving over the last 18 months.

Ancelotti has been in charge at Stamford Bridge for the last year and the 30 year old enjoyed his best season yet under the Italian coach, scoring 15 goals in an historic campaign.

"Ancelotti has allowed me to reach a new level," he told France Football.

"He gave me responsibility and I believe he has appreciated me. I had some frank talks with him - and that's how a special relationship was born.

"Last year we experienced a difficult week after our Champions League elimination. We lost to Manchester City and Manchester United was ahead of us so everything could have changed.

"We needed a boss, a leader, and that is exactly what he was. People talk about Mourinho but it is the very first time Chelsea have won the Double. Ancelotti entered history."

Malouda has carried his fine form into the new campaign, scoring six goals in the Blues opening six Premier League games.

"It is a slow improvement that didn't come in one day," he added. "I believe I am in the best form of my whole life at the moment and at the right club.

"People are always more demanding about Chelsea, even though it is quite a young team on the European scene.

"We haven't won the Champions League yet and you could see that as a disappointment, but we have been the steadier team for several years. Each year we've lost against the eventual winner. We know we have the potential to win the title.

"No other clubs make me dream," added Malouda, who is under contract until 2013. "I feel very good here.

"I feel I have blossomed perfectly, even if I believe I am not at my very best yet.

"Even if I would be offered a better contract somewhere else, I don't think I would be happy so I wouldn't go."

f**king jesus christ. A thread celebrating a player who has been superb since the start of last seasons and you say that?

I didn't see the City match and I only saw half of the Marseille match, but during the Arsenal match I remember thinking to myself that Malouda's confidence is running very high at the moment as he was attempting and pulling off stuff that I never would have dreamt of seeing him do a few years ago. Sure it wasn't one of his best matches, but that's only because the bar has been raised so high by the quality of his own performances.

The fact that he “has been superb from the start of last season†doesn’t mean he played well in those three games.

Yes all three of them.

Against Man City he was the worse player on the pitch, he was rubbish against Marseille and he didn’t even bother to turn up against Arsenal.

Man of the match?

They must have been listening to Jamie Redknapp who on his turn must have spent the whole game staring at Souness’ moustache. I wish I had spotted the thread then when I still had a recording of the game

Are you being serious? I thought this was some kind of convoluted wind up where you would eventually go "aahhhh, got you". If you honestly thought he was rubbish against Marseille and Arsenal then there is no hope for you.

Well the evidence seems to suggest that I have made a complete blunder about the Marseille game. Maybe my judgement was still clouded by his performance (or lack of it) against Man City.

PS You do know that I’m still not quite convinced about this, :) but I’ll make it my mission to re-watch that game.

Against Arsenal he quite skillfully got out of a tight situation on the edge of our penalty area and completed a pass to a player on the left wing.

Can you mention another meaningful thing that he did?.

Dont give the guy a lot grief over a couple of games when he has been outstanding last season and also started brightly this season. He's scored 5 goals already!!

You're being fickle in the extreme.

f**king hell, he`s been one of our best players all season, are you really gonna now hammer him for one poor game and one less than brilliant one?

No. Even Ramires managed to complete a few passes and hold on to the ball a few times.

Having been there and kept the hawk-eye on him, i can definitely say thats untrue.

Regardless, Malouda over the last 18 months has been priceless!!

I’m not being fickle or hammering any one. I just said what happened to him he‘s been rubbish in the last three games. I didn't say hang him or get rid of him.

You did, and yet most other people seem to think he wasnt rubbish in the last 3 games and was in fact MOTM in one of them games.

well i think malouda has set such high standards,if he dont score are make a goal people seem to doubt him, same as frank lampard. i think he's been quite for the past few games but he's worl rate had been good. he'll be back scoring in no time

Lampards been rubbish the last 3 games too! Whats going on with this team?

Bosingwa`s not had a decent game for months, I`m actually sickened by it.

I guarnatee you that Alex will contribute NOTHING for the next three games, we should sell him for Mexes.

Also, Yossi was a stupid signing, and he'll be sh*te for the year....we should never have signed him and gone for joaquin instead

Only problem with signing Joaguin is we have to pay for his mother to come over too, to feed him.....bitty..
